First Trailer for Bill Hader's CAT IN THE HAT Animated Film — GeekTyrant
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has released the first trailer for its upcoming film The Cat in the Hat , which is an animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss' classic story, and Bill Hader takes on the lead role. It looks like a fun film that the kids will enjoy! In the film, the Cat 'spreads joy to kids in his hilarious, signature and singularly irreverent way, transporting them and audiences on a fantastical journey through a world they've never seen before. 'Our hero's toughest assignment yet comes from the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC), which asks him to cheer up Gabby and Sebastian, a pair of siblings struggling with their move to a new town. 'Known for taking things too far, this could be this agent of chaos' last chance to prove himself…or lose his magical hat!' Hader is joined in the film by Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess. The movie was directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, and will hit theaters and IMAX on February 27, 2026.

Britain's Got Talent stars announce shock comeback tour just three years after splitting
BRITAIN'S Got Talent legends have announced a shock comeback tour - just three years after splitting. Musical theatre group Collabro won the ITV show's eighth series back in 2014. 4 4 However, they announced their break-up in 2022 - with a Farewell Tour in December that year. Three years on, the group confirmed their reunion earlier this month, with upcoming dates. They penned, in part, on Instagram: "We're BACK! Over the past few years, we've noticed you guys asking for a UK tour, and we've missed you so much that we've decided to do one! "We will be visiting stunning cathedrals across the UK in February 2026 singing our beautiful harmonies in candlelight!!" One follower commented: "Best news ever! Thank you for singing my favourite song 'he lives in you' tonight. You were incredible as always." Another added: "Love love love this!!!!" It comes as one of Collabro's members recently revealed his wife is pregnant with their first child. Singer Michael Auger, 35, shared the couple's happy news on Instagram. The parents-to-be struck a heartwarming pose beside the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with a kneeling Michael kissing Nicole's bare bump. He wrote on Instagram: "In the city of love celebrating our new lil love." The picture was taken on a perfect sunny day and Nicole looked down lovingly at her man. Michael's Collabro co-star Jamie Lambert said: "Lovely lovely lovely." A follower commented: "This is the most gorgeous news. I'm so incredibly happy for you both!!! BGT's Best Golden Buzzer Moments BGT have handed out many Golden Buzzer's over the years, can you remember some of the most famous Loren Allred - Loren Allred, 32, from Brooklyn, New York jetted to London to audition after recording the vocals for The Greatest Showman. The stunning singer got a standing ovation and a Golden Buzzer from the judges as she delivered a stirring rendition of Never Enough from the popular film. Loren came out on stage and revealed to the judges they would have heard her voice many times before that moment. "I was hired to record the vocals for The Greatest Showman as a guide for the actors to know how to sing the songs," she explained. Loren then revealed actress Rebecca Ferguson was so stunned by her singing that she decided to let her vocals be heard in the movie. "So she lip-synced," Loren said. Chicken Shed Theatre Company - Comprised of individuals aged between 5 and 37, the group was set up to welcome anyone irrespective of background to get up on stage and perform and fulfil their dream. Chicken Shed prides itself on accepting anyone and does not hold auditions to make the group a safe and inclusive space. The group wowed as they performed Wonder by Naughty Boy featuring Emeli Sande. It meant that Alesha wasted no time as she decided to hit her golden buzzer for the young performers. She told them it was her "honour" to reward their inclusiveness with her golden buzzer. The Dancing Granny - Granny Paddy Jones and her professional partner Niko Espinosa first hit headlines when they won the Spanish talent show Tú sí que vales in 2009, before going on to appear on Britain's Got Talent in 2014 where they came ninth. Amanda Holden was so impressed with Paddy that she gave her the Golden Buzzer, which sent them straight through to the semi-finals. But he is as close as ever to co-star Leondre Devries - who is Bars - with the pair seen enjoying themselves in exotic locations all over the world. Since winning BGT in 2014, Collabro have sold over two million albums. Their rise to stardom suffered a blow in 2016 when former member Richard Hadfield left the group due to a row over his continued posting of cover songs on his YouTube channel. The boys continued as a fourpiece and supported Cliff Richard on his Just Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Tour of the UK in 2017. Two years later, the boys went on a 51-date tour called Road to the Royal Albert Hall and returned to screens in Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, reaching the semi-final.

Government approves extension of rent controls nationwide in a bid to 'protect renters'
The Government has approved the extension of rent controls nationwide in a bid to protect renters. The publication of the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Bill 2025 has been approved for priority enactment. Advertisement The Bill provides for: The deeming of non rent pressure zones (RPZs) to be RPZs from the day after enactment until February 28th 2026; And a two-month extension, until February 28th, 2026, to the operation of existing rent pressure zones. Minister for Housing, James Browne, said the government is "protecting renters" and he is "moving swiftly on this". 'In line with last week's Government approval for the urgent drafting of legislation to extend and expand the operation of rent pressure zones, I can now announce that the Government has approved the publication of the necessary legislation – the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Bill 2025 – for urgent enactment," he said. 'While the rental measures announced have been necessarily complex to respond to different situations in our rental market, we want to provide certainty, clarity and stability for the rental sector including those who rent and those who let their properties. Advertisement 'It is important, as an interim measure, for all tenants to be protected, as soon as possible, under the current rent increase restrictions that apply in RPZs. This Bill provides that necessary protection for all tenants until 28 February 2026.' Minister of State, John Cummins TD, said: 'The Government has been clear that any changes to rent pressure zones will have to see increased protections for tenants. "That is why we are moving quickly to extend the Rent Pressure Zone and expanding to cover the whole country as quickly as possible.'

Ryan Murphy offered a first glimpse into his upcoming anthology series American Love Story - which will follow the publicized romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The television producer, 59 - who recently created the new show All's Fair starring Kim Kardashian - shared photos to the Ryan Murphy Productions Instagram account on Friday, as well as a camera test with some of the leading stars. Paul Kelly has taken on the role of JFK Jr. while Sarah Pidgeon is playing Bessette in the series - which is set to begin airing on FX and streaming on Hulu next year in February 2026. Prior to her relationship with Kennedy, Carolyn had dated Calvin Klein model Michael Bergin. Executive producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson told Variety last year that Bessette and Kennedy's story 'really resonates right now. It's amazing. 'A lot of younger women are looking to [Carolyn] as sort of a representational icon of a certain period of time that's really fascinating, and hopefully, we'll be able to bring that to the screen.'

Resident Evil 9 gets a surprise announcement at Summer Game Fest
The next Resident Evil is on its way, with all the bone-chilling horror you expect, and will arrive on February 27, 2026. First announced at Summer Game Fest 2025, Resident Evil Requiem puts the player in the role of Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2. Working for the FBI, Grace is shown investigating a strange, unidentified disease that has so far claimed four victims. Her investigation is interrupted by her boss, telling her he needs a technical analyst in the field. He asks her to go to the Remwood Hotel, the apparent location of her mother's murder. Surprised? So were most fans, as this is the first information revealed that Alyssa Ashcroft is dead. Recommended Videos The news follows a short tease from Resident Evil Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi, who appeared on screen long enough to thank fans for their continued support and ask them to wait just a tad longer for the game. And then Resident Evil 9 is announced at the end of Summer Game Fest, yanking the rug out from under fans and proving once and for all that Capcom is a master of trolling its audience. More details will be revealed in the lead-up to the game. Described as a shift for the franchise with a focus on 'cinematic high stakes action,' Resident Evil Requiem will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series simultaneously. In addition to another Ashcroft, the trailer suggests Leon Kennedy will also make an appearance, potentially as a secondary protagonist. In the wake of Resident Evil 4 Remake's success, this would be a brilliant move on Capcom's part to keep fans happy, especially if the tone of the series is changing. There's not much more information about the title, but it will supposedly be playable in August at Gamescom.
