The revitalized lineup includes the Fiat Doblo, Ducato and Scudo, with each model designed to address the evolving transport needs of fleet operators, SMEs, and specialist trades across the region. Fiat Doblo is Fiat's compact, urban-ready Professional vehicle in the C-Van segment. Designed for mid-range and city-based goods transport, it offers up to 1,000 kg in payload and a maximum cargo volume of 4.4 cubic metres. With a vehicle length from 4,4 up to 4.75 meters …, the Doblo is ideal for last-mile delivery services, mobile trades, and logistics fleets operating in dense urban areas. Its compact footprint, paired with impressive loading efficiency, makes it a standout in its class. Fiat Scudo, in the mid-size D-Van segment, bridges the gap between compact agility and cargo power. With a payload capacity of up to 1.4 tons and a volume of 6.6 cubic metres, the Scudo is tailored for regional deliveries, contractor fleets, and service operations. At 5.3 metres in length and available with a powerful 2.0L diesel engine (150hp, 8-speed automatic), the Scudo combines performance with comfort and versatility. The Ulysse configuration, offered in Euro 4 trim for shuttle or VIP transport, provides a premium moving experience while maintaining robust LCV functionality. Fiat Ducato, the flagship of the Fiat Professional lineup segment, offers heavy-duty transport capabilities and broad conversion potential. With a cargo volume ranging from 8 to 17 cubic metres and payloads exceeding 2 tons, it is engineered for long-range logistics, commercial upfitting, and specialized applications. The Ducato's flexible 5.3 – 6.4 meters platform and 2.2L diesel engine (140hp) support a wide range of third-party conversions, from refrigerated vans to mobile workshops, making it a preferred base vehicle for custom business needs. Features such as electric power steering, optional electric park brake, and the ergonomic 'Eat & Work' bench seat further enhance driver comfort and functionality. The Tris clearly owes its design roots with the long-running Piaggio Ape (pronounced 'ah-pay'), which is Italian for 'bee'. The Tris isn't just a concept, though, and is headed to Italian production for African and Middle Eastern markets at what Fiat claims is an affordable price. Fiat TRIS: the funky electric three-wheeler coming to South Africa
The three-wheeled electric Fiat TRIS is scheduled to be launched in South Africa. Image: Supplied Fiat has introduced a funky electric three-wheeler called the TRIS aimed at urban logistics and last-mile delivery to mobile businesses and it's coming to South Africa. Think of it as a kind of sophisticated Tuk-Tuk without the exhaust smoke. The name 'TRIS' draws its inspiration from the vehicle's three wheels, its modular design, and its three-light LED arrangement. It ensures easy pronunciation across multiple languages, allowing it to resonate with diverse global audiences. Three configurations It comes in three configurations: Flat Bed, Pick-Up and Chassis Cabin. The Pick-Up version speaks for itself and is the ready-to-work option, while the Flat Bed and Chassis Cabin options can be customised by Fiat Professional's certified partners or directly by customers. Power The lithium battery, with a capacity of 6.9 kWh powers a 48-volt electric motor delivering 9kW (peak power) and a maximum torque of 45Nm providing a range of 90 kilometres (WMTC) with a top speed of 45km/h. Charging is easy thanks to its integrated smart charging system. Fiat says it can be charged from 0 to 80% in 3.5 hours, reaching a complete recharge in 4 hours and 40 minutes using a standard domestic plug. Stability on the three-wheeler is provided by a wide track rear axle, enlarged wheelbase and 12-inch tyres. The TRIS is 3.17 metres long with a 3.05 metre turning radius, a 2.25 square metre load space big enough to accommodate a standard euro pallet, and an RCE-homologated payload capacity of 540 kg. Digital It features 5.7-inch digital cluster displays with driving information, including distance-to-empty and battery level. There's also a USB-C plug and a 12V socket to keep devices charged. The TRIS meets European homologation standards, incorporating three-point seat belts, front LED lighting with ignition-activated low beams, a reverse buzzer, and a washer tank. There are multiple storage compartments, including a closed three litre glove box on the dashboard and additional storage nets as accessories. Stellantis South Africa has not yet confirmed a launch date, saying only that it's definitely coming to our shores.

New Fiat Tris EV three-wheeler is here to take the Piaggio Ape's throne
If the new Fiat Panda seems a little too refined for your tastes, then you could consider the company's new Tris – a three-wheeled, all-electric pick-up truck. We're familiar with the Reliant Robin and Morgan 3 Wheeler here in the UK, but over in Italy the market for three-wheeled vehicles has been dominated by the motorbike-based Piaggio Ape. However, due to European regulations, the Ape was removed from sale in the EU and is only being offered in India and Africa from now on. That's where this Fiat Tris steps in. Under the Fiat Professional commercial vehicle brand, the Tris will go on sale in India and Africa, although Fiat CEO Olivier Francois has given hope of a launch here, saying, 'We believe its potential goes far beyond. Europe may be next, because this kind of smart, sustainable solution speaks a universal language." Advertisement - Article continues below The Tris isn't designed to rival conventional vans. Instead, Fiat says, its little electric three-wheeler is aimed at so-called 'last-mile' deliveries, transporting 'diverse goods such as fruit, sand, or furniture' – or, we suspect, anything within its 540kg payload. Powering the Tris is a 6.9kWh battery (larger than a Citroen Ami's 5.5kWh unit), which will return a 55-mile range on the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC), nine miles more than the Citroen. The Fiat's 12bhp electric motor is good for a top speed of 28mph. Charging is via a standard domestic plug, so a zero to 80 per cent recharge will take 3.5 hours; a full charge from flat takes almost five hours. However, Fiat points out, this allows professionals to charge their vehicle overnight or between shifts, 'ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency for daily operations'. The Tris has no doors (which Fiat says will help with jobs that require the driver getting in and out frequently), but the cabin does feature multiple storage cubbies, a glovebox, a USB-C charging port, a 12-volt socket and even a 5.7-inch digital instrument cluster. There's no word on pricing for the vehicle's intended market just yet, although we know the Tris will be offered with a choice of three bodies: pick-up bed, chassis-cab and flat-bed. Fiat isn't known for making big cars, but the Italian automaker has never made a three-wheeled vehicle until now. Meet the Tris. It's a bite-sized electric vehicle designed to serve businesses and entrepreneurs, like last-mile delivery, mobile businesses, and transport services—and no, it's not coming to America. The Tris is available in three configurations: truck, chassis cab, and flatbed. It's 10.4-feet long, or about five feet shorter than a Honda Civic . But it has 24.2 square feet of load space, capable of accommodating standard euro pallets, and a 1,190-pound payload capacity. The Tris comes packing a 6.9-kilowatt-hour battery that provides up to 56 miles of range on a single charge. Fiat integrated the charging equipment into the vehicle so owners can recharge using any standard domestic plug. It's not the fastest charge in the world, replenishing the battery from zero to 80 percent in 3.5 hours—but that shouldn't be an issue for most business operations. It's another small pickup designed for businesses and entrepreneurs to spec as needed. Fiat will offer upfit services for the Tris through its commercial arm, and maybe one day, it'll be as popular to import as those Japanese minitrucks .
