M11 reopened after fire near Stansted Airport

A major motorway has reopened after a vehicle fire and spillage closed part of the road. Traffic on the M11 southbound was held up between junction nine for Great Chesterford and junction eight for London Stansted Airport, Essex, on Sunday morning. Fire crews attended the scene and people faced delays of up to 60 minutes on approach, a National Highways spokesperson said. Calgary casino evacuated due to carbon monoxide

High carbon monoxide levels caused the evacuation of a northeast Calgary casino on Tuesday afternoon. Fire and EMS crews arrived at the 1400 block of Meridian Road N.E., near 16th Avenue and Barlow Trail, around 3 p.m. About 300 people were evacuated. High carbon monoxide levels were detected in the boiler room. EMS says everyone was assessed, and two adults were taken to hospital. Both people transported were in stable, non-life-threatening condition, EMS says. Fire crews were able to get the carbon monoxide levels down. Driver rescued after crashing into barrier in Etobicoke

The incident happened in Etobicoke near Dundas Street West and Shorncliffe Road at around 12:05 p.m. Fire crews say the driver became trapped and was extracted from the vehicle. However their condition has not yet been disclosed. Shorncliffe Road is blocked in both directions while crews remain at the scene. This is a developing news story, more details to come...
