He served as the grand marshal at the Daytona International Speedway in 2004 and at the Dover Motor Speedway in 2006. Newsweek Sports reported Hyak Motorsports driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s partnership with Real American beer for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Notably, the beer brand was co-founded by Hogan. Hogan shared his excitement about the collaboration back then. He said in a statement: "Brother, Michigan knows how to go full throttle—and so does Real American Beer. We're back on the track, back in the fight, and there's no better time to crack one open and let it rip." Real American Beer CEO Terri Francis revealed the brand's strategy. He said: "Motorsports fans have been some of our loudest supporters from day one. This partnership is part of our strategy to meet them where they are—on the road, in the stands and in the beer aisle." Stenhouse Jr. said: "We didn't get the result we were after in Nashville, and that's frustrating for sure. "But this team's got heart. We've put in the work this week, and we're heading to Michigan with a clean slate and a fast Real American Beer Chevy."

'Wear your lucky underwear': Alex Bowman Jr's weird ritual shocks NASCAR fans after crash (Image via Getty) What do NASCAR stars do before jumping into their race cars? It's not just about tightening seat belts or checking engines. Many drivers have personal pre-race habits that might surprise fans. Some of them stick to the same meal. Others listen to loud music. And some believe in… lucky underwear? In a new video shared on June 17, 2025, by Sports on Prime through their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, NASCAR fans got a peek into what goes on behind the scenes. The clip was part of a promo for NASCAR on Prime, which will stream Cup Series races starting next year. Alex Bowman Jr., AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain and others talk about what they do before racing In the short video, drivers opened up about their race day routines. Alex Bowman Jr., who races for Hendrick Motorsports, said, 'Just kind of wear your lucky underwear.' AJ Allmendinger, another Cup Series driver, shared that he listens to heavy music depending on how he feels. 'Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack… it gets me fired up,' he said. Ross Chastain explained he eats only plain chicken, rice, and watermelon before any race. He said he figured this out after trying different meals. Eric Jones revealed he always puts on his clothes in the same order. 'Even the socks go on a certain way,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Before going to the track, Austin Dillon remarked that he always eats with his family and prays. Zane Smith prefers to relax with loved ones and eat clean to stay focused. Alex Bowman Jr.'s painful crash in Michigan still fresh in memory Just days before the video dropped, Alex Bowman Jr. had a terrifying crash on June 9, 2025, during the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. On lap 67, Alex Bowman's No. 48 car hit Cole Custer's car and then slammed straight into a wall. Alex Bowman told FOX Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, 'It's the most painful one I've taken for sure.' He shared the impact measured over 50 G-forces. Even though he was cleared by the infield care team, the hit hurt more than when he broke his back in a 2022 sprint car crash. Anthony Alfredo was kept ready in case Alex Bowman couldn't race in Mexico City the following weekend. But Alex Bowman still showed up and competed at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. AI Just Took Over NASCAR – Here's the Burn Bar Tool Everyone's Talking About
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Amazon's Prime Video has developed the Burn Bar for NASCAR race viewers that displays real-time mileage during the race. With the help of an artificial intelligence model, each driver's fuel consumption and efficiency will be showcased after the telemetry data of each car has been analyzed. The Burn Bar is expected to help fans gain a new insight into team strategy, especially in mileage races such as last weekend's race at the Michigan International Speedway, where drivers had to preserve fuel to make it to the end of the race. NASCAR on Prime analyst Steve Letarte, who contributed to the development of the Burn Bar, explained that since the cars don't have a sensor that reports mileage, the AI tool makes mathematical calculations using the data obtained from the cars. He said: Chase Briscoe, driver of the #19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota, and Kyle Busch, driver of the #8 BetMGM Chevrolet, lead the field on a pace lap prior to the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400... Chase Briscoe, driver of the #19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota, and Kyle Busch, driver of the #8 BetMGM Chevrolet, lead the field on a pace lap prior to the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 08, 2025 in Brooklyn, Michigan. More"It's the first true tool that is taking information off the car, making calculations and then displaying to the fan a calculation or measurement that is being used in the garage. And it does affect the team. "There's not a sensor on the car giving us miles per gallon. It's a mathematical calculation of other cars performances." Let's take a peek at The Burn Bar, the newest AI-Powered innovation from @PrimeVideo! — Sports on Prime (@SportsonPrime) June 2, 2025 The Burn Bar was featured during the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway last month for a short duration and will appear again this weekend for the race in Mexico. Letarte teamed up with Amazon Web Services and Prime Video analytics expert on Thursday Night Football, Sam Schwartzstein, to develop the Burn Bar. They used four models to analyze fuel consumption and then matched them with the actual data obtained from the teams post-race to shortlist the most accurate method. Schwartzstein revealed that the test they performed at Michigan last weekend proved successful. He said: "We projected William Byron to run out, which he did, and then we were on the razor's edge for Denny Hamlin. And then watching the truck push him back into victory lane at the end, knowing he was as close as we thought he was. What a cool way to see this feature come to life and elevate NASCAR broadcasts." Prime Video's senior coordinating producer for live sports, Alex Strand, shared his optimism in the path the team had chosen. He added: "It's really cool to live in a world where it shows us that anything is possible. We're starting with something that we're really excited about, but it's setting us down a path that will open up new doors for us. "I think that's what we're really excited about is to say, 'OK, we've had success in Year 1 on a feature that's resonated with fans right out of the gate.' It raises the table for our offseason."

NASCAR Michigan winners and losers: Denny Hamlin wins on 701st start, Carson Hocevar blows tire
Denny Hamlin earned his third win of the NASCAR Cup Series season in the FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 8 at Michigan International Speedway. Hamlin is the 10th NASCAR Cup Series driver to win a race after his 700th start. His 700th start came in the June 1 race at Nashville, making the NASCAR Michigan race his 701st-career start. Advertisement William Byron and Carson Hocevar, who each had a chance to win the race late, had separate issues leading to poor finishes. Here are winners and losers from the NASCAR Michigan race. HOW IT HAPPENED: NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan: Live updates, highlights, leaderboard for FireKeepers Casino 400 ALEX BOWMAN CRASHES: Alex Bowman crash in NASCAR Michigan race ends hopes of much-needed good finish NASCAR Michigan race winners and losers Winner: Denny Hamlin Denny Hamlin ran toward the front of the field most of the day during the Michigan race. Hamlin found himself in a battle with William Byron in the closing laps. Hamlin, still on baby watch, flew back-and-forth from North Carolina to Michigan throughout the weekend to be with his fiancée, Jordan Fish, ahead of the birth of their third child. Winner: Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs had a strong showing at Michigan, finishing third in the race. Gibbs is working on building on his points standing but will have to get a win to qualify for the NASCAR playoffs. Gibbs showed that he can compete for wins and might be able to get the job done before this season is over. Winner: Chris Buescher Chris Buescher finished second in the NASCAR Michigan race after making a strong move to get past Ty Gibbs for his second top five and sixth top 10 of the season. Buescher is now 14th in the playoff standings with 20 points to work with over the cutline. Buescher doesn't necessarily need a win to qualify for the playoffs, but a win could sure make life easier for the No. 17. Loser: Alex Bowman Alex Bowman really needed a good run in Michigan to solidify himself in the playoff picture. He crashed hard in a multi-car incident on lap 67 and has now finished outside of the top 25 in seven of the last nine races. Bowman is just 13 points over the cutline in the NASCAR playoffs and needs to find better results to earn a playoff spot. Loser: William Byron William Byron led 98 laps in the NASCAR Michigan race and found himself on a fuel-saving strategy late in the race. He had the lead with 19 to go but a battle with Denny Hamlin ended with Byron running out of fuel coming to the white flag, pitting from second and finishing 30th. Loser: Carson Hocevar Carson Hocevar, a Michigan native, had a huge chance to win his home race, but cut a tire with 19 to go. Hocevar finished a disappointing 29th after running toward the front all day, including leading 32 laps in the final stage of the race.
