Why Katy Perry's Not Attending Jeff Bezos' Wedding

Katy Perry will not be attending the star-studded wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Venice, Italy. Earlier this week, the news broke that Katy and her fiancé Orlando Bloom have split. Katy and Orlando announced their engagement in 2019, three years after they started dating. Together, they share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. For a few weeks, amid rumors of their relationship status, sources have reported several factors that seemingly contributed to their split. Sources claimed "tension" arose following the negative reception of Katy's seventh studio album, 143. A source also claimed to Entertainment Tonight that Orlando was at his "breaking point." Another source claimed that they "don't really see them being able to turn things around," and Katy's directing her focus on The Lifetimes Tour. The source added, "It's been breaking down the last couple of months and isn't looking good." And this leads to why Katy won't be at the Bezos-Sánchez wedding this weekend. When People confirmed that Katy and Orlando had officially called it quits, and The Lord of the Rings actor arrived in Italy on June 26 alone, speculation arose that the "Firework" singer's absence was due to their relationship. A source confirmed to People that "She was never going to the wedding." Katy will be performing back-to-back shows in Adelaide, Australia, on June 26, 27, 29, and 30, which is the time for the nuptials. Katy did join Lauren for her bachelorette party in Paris in May alongside celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Eva Longoria. According to the publication, they had dinner at Lafayette's and a river cruise around the city the next day. If you remember, Katy was also part of the six-person all-female crew with Lauren on Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin space flight back in April. So, it's reasonable to expect that Katy would definitely be at Lauren's wedding, but that's not the case. As noted in a previous story, BuzzFeed has contacted Katy's reps for comment, and we'll let you know if we learn more.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are reportedly co-parenting their 4-year-old daughter, Daisy, after breaking up. 'They are still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together,' an insider close to the former couple told Us Weekly in an article published Wednesday. The source added that the actor, 48, took Daisy to meet up with Perry, 40, on her Lifetimes Tour before he left for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice this week. 'It's not messy between them,' the source noted. The 'Firework' singer and Bloom are allegedly easing into their new parenting structure by keeping logistics flexible for their child. 'They will keep their lives in Montecito [California]. They are prioritising stability and consistency for Daisy.' A source confirmed to Page Six earlier this week that their relationship is 'over.' 'They are waiting 'til her tour is over before they split,' the insider told us at the time of her tour, which kicked off in April and runs through December 7th. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life,' the source told the outlet. Their break-up has allegedly been 'a long time coming.' Another source told People that tensions for the pair grew after Perry's latest album, '143,' received poor reviews. Things are thought to not be 'messy' between the former couple, despite their split. Picture: Getty. 'Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,' the source said. 'It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.' The Hollywood star and Perry were first romantically linked in 2016 after meeting at an afterparty for the Golden Globes. They briefly split in 2017 before getting back together again. Bloom later proposed to Perry on Valentine's Day in 2019, and they welcomed their daughter the following August. Perry hinted at trouble in paradise during her 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast when she admitted that they have fiery arguments. 'Orlando and I, when we argue, we argue kinda hot and fast and then cool really quickly. It's like, 'La la la la la, I love you. All right, let's move on,'' she said, adding, 'We are fire, fire, fire, and so [Daisy] sees all of that.' Bloom, for his part, shared that maintaining their partnership wasn't always easy. 'Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging. I won't lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity,' Bloom told Flaunt in 2023. 'I think we're both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did. And there's definitely never a dull moment,' he added. Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom split: Couple ends engagement after 6 years

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are going their separate ways — again — after almost a decade together, People magazine confirmed on Thursday. The couple first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 over In-N-Out burgers, but have had an on-again, off-again relationship for the past nine years. 'We were at the Golden Globes and we weren't together,' the Firework singer recalled during an episode of American Idol. 'So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend's hand — he wasn't even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, 'Hey that's my burger.'' The couple announced their relationship on Instagram a few months later, but split in 2017. Story continues below advertisement Perry, 40, spoke about it with candour during an interview on Alex Cooper's podcast, Call Her Daddy, while Bloom said the pair remained friends. Then, in 2018, the pair made an official appearance as a couple once again, this time at the Gala for the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo, in Monaco.
