Gill becomes second-youngest Indian to score Test double-ton as captain
The 25-year-old, who succeeds Virat Kohli at the coveted No 4 spot, thus becomes only the second Indian Test captain after the latter to score an overseas double century – with Kohli having previously achieved the feat with a score of 200 against West Indies in North Sound in 2016.
Gill is also the sixth Indian to score a Test double hundred as captain as well as the second-youngest after the late Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, who had achieved the feat at the age of 23 years and 39 days in 1964.
