Reliance Bank to host free sessions on homebuying assistance for first-time buyers
ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — As home prices and interest rates continue to rise, Reliance Bank is offering free informational sessions to help first-time homebuyers and realtors navigate available financial assistance programs. The bank will host two events at its corporate office at The Mill, 2424 8th Ave., Altoona: a Realtor Breakfast, Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. and a First-Time Homebuyer Luncheon, Feb. 27 at 11:30 a.m.. Attendees will learn about programs like First Front Door, which offers up to $15,000 in assistance for pre-qualified first-time buyers. Minority applicants may qualify for up to $20,000 through the Keys to Equity Fund, designed to support minority homeownership. Reliance Bank officials say these programs ran out of funding quickly in 2024, and prospective buyers should take steps now to prepare for the next application cycle.
