Car Deal of the Day: Get EV3-style for less with a Kia Niro EV for £237 per month
285 mile-range; easy to drive Just £237.50 a month Nearly £100 a month cheaper than EV3 The new EV3 may be the Kia that's (rightly) in the spotlight right now, but don't forget the other electric car that has helped Kia to become a leading EV maker – the Niro EV. It may not have the EV3's new factor, but the Niro EV is still an excellent electric family hatchback – especially if you're new to the world of EV motoring. Add in the fact that the Niro costs around £100 less a month on lease than its glitzier sister, and it's a winner in our book. Advertisement - Article continues below First Vehicle Leasing is offering the Niro EV for just £237.50 a month right now, after an initial payment of £3,200.04. This 36-month agreement has a 5,000-miles-a-year cap, but this can be revised up to 8,000 for an extra £17.16 a month. This deal gets you a Niro EV in 2 spec. It's the lowest of the two-trim line-up, with the higher being – you guessed it – 3. The range has recently been rationalised and you can thank the EV3's arrival for that, probably. Still, 2 gets you 17-inch alloys, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat-nav, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and a plethora of safety kit. Skip advert Advertisement - Article continues below The Niro also gets a 64.8kWh battery pack that's good for a claimed 285 miles. In our testing we've found 250 miles to be the most likely range you can get, which is still pretty good. The interior is well finished and has a design that's very similar to that of its EV6 big brother. It's roomy, too, with plenty of space for a couple of six-footers in the back, while the boot is huge at 475 litres. Fold down the back seats and this rises to nearly 1,400 litres, plus there are plenty of clever storage places such as a handy 'frunk' under the bonnet. The Car Deal of the Day selections we make are taken from our own Auto Express Find A Car deals service, which includes the best current offers from car dealers and leasing companies around the UK. Terms and conditions apply, while prices and offers are subject to change and limited availability. Car Deal of the Day: Spacious and sophisticated Kia Niro EV for less than £240 per month
Comfortable family SUV Three-year lease deal Only £237 per month The Kia Niro EV might not be the newest electric SUV on the block, but it's very good, offering sophisticated looks, a classy interior, comfortable ride and lots of space. Plus, it can be yours for only £237 per month, thanks to this deal we found through the Auto Express Find A Car service. Advertisement - Article continues below That price is being offered by First Vehicle Leasing, through Auto Express. It's for a three-year lease with an initial payment of £3,149, followed by monthly payments of £237. Included in the offer is an annual allowance of 5,000 miles per year, or you can extend it to 8,000 for less than £20 extra each month. Even though this is the entry-level Niro EV, it still comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, dual 10.25-inch displays, sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and various driver-assistance systems. Every Niro EV features a 65kWh battery that offers up to 285 miles of range and powers a 201bhp fount-mounted electric motor, which can propel the family SUV from 0-62mph in a little under eight seconds. The Kia's 72kW maximum charging speed isn't the fastest we've seen, and as a result, it takes at least 45 minutes to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent battery capacity. Inside, the sharp displays are housed in a single curved panel, below which is the same handy, dual-purpose touch panel as in the Kia EV6. Push one button, and the panel offers either the climate controls or shortcuts for the infotainment system. You also get an impressive 475-litre boot, plus an additional 20 litres of storage space under the bonnet. The Car Deal of the Day selections we make are taken from our own Auto Express Find A Car deals service, which includes the best current offers from car retailers and leasing companies around the UK. Car Deal of the Day: Slash your bills with the Skoda Superb Estate plug-in hybrid for £266 a month
Spacious interior, massive boot Efficient plug-in hybrid Only £265.30 a month Fuel-sipping plug-in hybrid estates don't come much more brilliant and well thought out than the Skoda Superb Estate – and, judging by the Auto Express Find a Car service, you can throw value for money into the mix, too. This two-year deal from First Vehicle Leasing sees you taking the keys for just £265.30 a month, after an initial payment of £3,482.55. Mileage is capped at 5,000 a year, but this can be nudged up to a more flexible 8,000 miles per annum for an extra £23.72 a month. Advertisement - Article continues below This is especially good value for money when you realise what a great plug-in hybrid the Superb is. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with an electric motor, which in turn, draws its power from a chunky 25.7kWh battery, providing up to 84 miles of electric range. Skoda claims a whopping 783.4mpg fuel economy, but you're going to get considerably less than that, based on our testing. Despite this, the Superb plug-in hybrid will still likely slash your bills, plus thanks to 50kW DC charging capability, topping up that battery won't take long, either. The latest Superb is a smart car and very comfortable car, with supple suspension, plus the added bonus of fantastic refinement, thanks to the PHEV's electric running credentials. Naturally, just like all Superbs before, the current car has tons of interior space. Back-seat passengers can stretch out like they're in a limo, while the boot is an enormous 510 litres in the PHEV version, which can be expanded to a van-like 1,770 litres. The Car Deal of the Day selections we make are taken from our own Auto Express Find A Car deals service, which includes the best current offers from car dealers and leasing companies around the UK.
