BREAKING NEWS Wayne Carey outs himself as the footy star in 'wine bar toilet' viral video everyone in Melbourne is talking about - as he furiously slams women who filmed it: 'S**t shaming'

Footy great Wayne Carey has confessed he is the man shown in a viral video that allegedly featured a man and woman emerging from a bathroom after a sexual encounter in a trendy Melbourne bar. The North Melbourne premiership winner said he has contacted police in an effort to have the people who filmed and distributed the video held accountable. The footage, which was taken at the Toorak Cellars bar in Armadale - shows Carey and the unnamed woman walking into view around 20 seconds apart. A woman's voice is heard saying 'we've got you on camera' as the woman walks past, before asking 'What's he doing in there?' and remarking, 'She looks embarrassed.' Carey and the woman depicted in the clip - which has been doing the rounds on social media over the last few days - have lashed out furiously over the video, with the ex-AFL star branding it 's**t shaming' and cyberbullying and both parties insisting there was no 'tryst' in the toilets. 'Annoyed is the wrong word, I've gone through about 10 different emotions in the last three days,' he said on the You Cannot Be Serious podcast. 'I've gone through disbelief, sadness, I've gone through anger. 'This woman has been thrown into this just because I could kick a footy. 'And you've got two vile, disturbing, probably p**sed women who want to do this to another woman. 'That's all they were doing, they were s**t-shaming another woman. 'If two men had done that they would be raked over hot coals, it would be the biggest story going around. 'But because it's two women doing it to another woman … you don't know what's going on, this other woman has had all sorts of stuff going in her life, I've since found out. 'You talk about vile and disgusting, what they've done and who they have affected by a few sh**s and giggles drinking their chardonnay, sitting up there, doing whatever. 'Once again, I'm not going to name them because that would be as pathetic as what they are. I'll let the law take care of it.' The AFL great (pictured with Jessica Paulke) revealed he has contacted police about the footag and is now going to 'let the law take care of it' Carey also said his partner Jessica Paulke had spoken to the woman in the footage to support her in her efforts to have the people who filmed the video held accountable. Paulke also messaged the people behind the filming and distribution of the video, warning that she and Carey had 'contacted esafety commission to have this content removed'. The woman shown in the footage also lashed out on social media. 'Shame on you women, we are better than that,' she wrote. 'It [a tryst] did not happen, but that's not the point. It's time that narrative changed.' Carey added that one of the women's claim that she heard people 'grunting like pigs' just before the video was taken is 'completely made-up crap' and said they were warned not to post the video on social media. 'This other woman has had an horrific few months. She's lost her parents, she's split up from a partner and these two women think it's OK to film her and slut shame her online and post it online,' he said. 'What sort of penalty should these two women get? 'We [he and the woman in the video] are speaking and we will follow this through to the nth degree. 'I'm blown away that women in their 40s could think this was a good idea. 'How would they explain this to their children?'

Frenzy after AFL star's classy interview following gruesome injury

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. WARNING: Violent content. Footy fans have been left in awe of Andrew Brayshaw after a troubling post-game interview where blood poured from his head. The Fremantle star showed no sign of distress as he spoke to Fox Footy after the Dockers' big comeback win over Hawthorn on Saturday — except for a gruesome head wound. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Brayshaw grinned and spoke with class during his on-field chat with Fox Footy's Kath Loughnan on the Optus Stadium turf just moments after the final siren sounded on the home team's 13-point win. Loughnan appeared to have second thoughts about going through with the interview, saying she earlier asked Brayshaw if he was really up for it. 'You let me know if you feel dizzy at all during this interview as I see the blood rushing down your face,' she said. She finished the interview by saying: 'I really feel like I need to let you go to the doctor. Thanks for chatting Andrew'. Brayshaw had come from the field in the final minute of play and was escorted to have a seat on the bench by a medical official. With blood coming down his head, Brayshaw waved to the crowd to fire them up with his hand gestures as he walked off the field. Replays showed he had taken a knee to the head during a marking contest late in the game. Brayshaw was at the bottom of a pack when teammate Luke Jackson launched into the air and accidentally took Brayshaw out in a sickening collision. None of it seemed to bother Brayshaw, who was much more interested in speaking about the impact Michael Walters had on the club as the Dockers celebrated the veteran with a special farewell. Brayshaw was the player everyone wanted to hear from at the end of the game after he provided the spark his team needed with a career-high 14 tackles, to go with 29 disposals, and six clearances. Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said Brayshaw's performances are usually a gauge for how his side plays. 'He was disappointed with his game last week as well,' Longmuir said. 'I know (midfield coach) Joel Corey asked him for more defensively, and he's a barometer for us when he's bringing his pressure, when he's bringing his trademark efforts to chase down. 'So, yeah, him leading the way, and all our leaders leading the way in an area of focus is really important.' The interview divided footy fans and there was a frenzy of social media comments made about the incident. Many fans praised Brayshaw for his bravery. Fox Footy commentator Adam Papalia said after the interview: 'Well that just typifies Andrew Brayshaw.' Footy fans on Reddit called in 'badass'. Others said it was in similar fashion to interviews UFC fighters hold inside the Octagon after fights. One footy fan posted on X: 'Brayshaw doing post game interview with more blood than a Jaws movie. 'Never seen that before haha.' The win was Fremantle's seventh in eight weeks and they are now four points ahead of the ninth-placed Western Bulldogs. Longmuir said he'll let the players enjoy the win over the Hawks before looking towards the their blockbuster against Collingwood. 'Yeah, it's the biggest challenge in footy,' he said about the Round 19 task. 'You go not only to take on Collingwood, who are the best team in the comp, but you go and take on the Magpie Army and the crowd and yeah, it's a great challenge for us. 'So, we'll enjoy this win first. Wins are hard to come by. 'Allow the players to sit in it for a few days and then we'll start prepping for Collingwood, so a great challenge.' — with NewsWire Originally published as Frenzy after AFL star's classy interview following gruesome injury

Hynes reveals emotional story behind try celebration

Footy players have been doing their bit to raise money for Try July with their celebrations, but there was extra meaning behind Nicho Hynes' dance on Friday night as he paid an emotional tribute to the passing of Steven Munster. Hynes made his NRL debut alongside Cameron Munster at the Storm back in 2019 and spent plenty of time with his father in the sheds after games. It's why he wanted to honour him after scoring a try, with the support shown by teammates and rivals highlighting Munster's standing in the game. 'It was just a little dance that we used to do every time we had a couple of beers together,' the Sharks halfback said after he scored twice in the 24-12 win over the Dolphins. 'I've just been thinking about him a lot. I've been talking to my girlfriend about it. That could have been me. That could be anyone waking up without their dad or a parent. 'I'm sending lots of love to his family. I just remember after games at Melbourne, seeing his old man and old lady in the sheds always smiling and happy. 'It touched me a lot, big time.' The friendship goes back to 2018 when Hynes was new in Melbourne and was taken in by Munster who supported him early on and made him feel at home. The former Dally M Medal winner says he idolises the Storm champion who bravely led the Maroons to State of Origin glory on Wednesday night just days after his father died. 'I think he was meant to be on the Aussie tour that year and I think something happened and he got kicked out or whatever and he ended up coming to pre-season, which was my first pre-season there,' Hynes recalled. 'I was a nobody. I was literally there on a train and trial (deal) and he didn't have to give me any time of day, but that's not the Melbourne Storm way. They do give everyone time of day. 'He ended up having me at his house for a couple of weeks and whenever he wanted to go for a feed, he'd ask me to go for a feed. He was just someone who was so nice and caring and wanted to help out and make me better. 'I looked up to him and I've looked up to him ever since I met him. He's just someone I idolise. 'Even now, seeing the way he's handled it and went out and performed the other night, I don't think I've seen and played with a better rugby league player live – Cameron Smith, obviously – but Cam Munster… what he's gone through to do that and deliver, I'm just so proud of him.'
