More info A pedestrian has died following a collision in north Dublin early this morning. At approximately 4:55am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian at Balbutcher Lane in Ballymun. The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported at this time. The road is closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. A garda spokesperson said: "Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Balbutcher Lane and Balcurris Park areas of Ballymun, between 4:00am and 5:00am, and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí. A MAN in his 20s has died after he was struck by a car in an early morning collision in Dublin today. The incident happened at Balbutcher Lane in Ballymun, Dublin 11 at around 4.55am this morning. Gardai were alerted to scene involving the pedestrian and the car and the pedestrian, the man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions in place. Gardai are now appealing for any witnesses to make contact with them, especially those with dash-cam footage. Woman seriously injured after being struck by lorry as Gardai close busy road

A woman has been seriously injured after she was struck by a lorry on a busy road in Co Wexford. The road traffic collision occurred on the Main Street in Gorey at approximately 11 am on Friday. Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a lorry. The woman received medical assistance at the scene before being rushed by ambulance to hospital, where her condition is understood to be serious. The road has been closed by Gardaí to allow for Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out a technical examination of the scene and local diversions are in place. Motorists have been urged to keep the area clear to allow emergency services to respond. The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours and drivers have been told to expect long delays. Gorey councillor Joe Sullivan said the the collision has caused shock among locals as he wished the woman a "speedy recovery". "Unfortunately an incident took place at the Main Street in Gorey this morning where a lady was knocked down and she has been removed from the scene," he told South East Radio. "It is an unfortunate situation that a person should be injured in these circumstances, a busy Friday morning on the Main Street, and I wish that the person injured would make a speedy recovery."
