Garmin Is Going Nuts for Prime Day, Forerunner 255 GPS Smartwatch Is Now Almost Free
Garmin doesn't actually have a direct competitor out there with a wide range of models that cater to professionals and amateurs. For Prime Day Amazon is offering a whopping 43% discount on the Forerunner 255, bringing its price down to just $199 from its regular price of $349. This is the company's best-selling product, and it has a 4.7 out of 5 rating and it can be purchased as a limited time offer that does not require a Prime membership. See at Amazon Its slender profile and always-visible, full-color face make it comfortable to wear all day and the screen remains easy to view in bright sunlight. Coming in two sizes (46 mm and 41 mm), the watch is sure to fit most wrists and fashion styles. Battery life is great at up to 14 days of smartwatch mode and up to 30 hours of GPS mode, so you can track your fitness and workouts without having to constantly reach for a charger. This watch has an entire suite of features far beyond simple step tracking: Morning Report feature gives you a snapshot of your sleep, HRV, recovery, and workout suggestions as soon as you wake up so you can start each morning knowing exactly what you need to do. Forerunner 255 also has more in-depth information about your training and recovery including monitoring heart rate variability, recovery time, and daily workouts that are suggested based on your performance and rest. If you are preparing to run a race, the adaptive training plans and estimated race finish times keep you motivated and on target, taking into account course data, weather, and your current performance. The watch assesses your current training level in order to inform you whether you're undertraining or working too hard, and the integrated sports apps accommodate a broad spectrum of activities, from running and cycling to triathlon and multisport profiles. With running dynamics and power in the wrist, you can monitor your stride, ground contact time and effort in real-time. Forerunner 255 also features advanced safety and navigation capabilities: GPS tracking is fast and accurate, no matter what city street or new trail you're on. The watch pairs with Bluetooth and USB and effortlessly transfers your data to the Garmin Connect app for deeper analysis and sharing with others or coaches. 4 GB of storage gives you room to store your training plans and workout history. If you're looking for a feature-rich GPS running smartwatch, the Garmin Forerunner 255 at $199 is an unbeatable deal. See at Amazon

Garmin Forerunner 255 returns to its lowest ever price for Prime Day — is it still worth getting in 2025?
I've been testing Garmin watches for a decade and usually my advice to anyone looking for value is to buy an older model, because there are always deals available on the last generation of Garmin watches. The question is how old is too old with regards to buying a Garmin watch. The Garmin Forerunner 255 is just $199 at Amazon right now, matching its lowest ever price, but it's three-years-old now and has been superseded by two newer models. I'd say it's still worth looking at, because at that price it undercuts the current Garmin Forerunner range entirely, and the Forerunner 255 still has all the features you really need in a sports watch. (For more deals, check out our Prime Day deals live blog). The Garmin Forerunner 255 has crashed back down to its lowest ever price ahead of Prime Day, with black and blue watches available for $199 on Amazon. It's an old watch but offers reliably accurate tracking and useful training analysis for both runners and triathletes, all in a lightweight design. If you want music storage too, the Forerunner 255 Music is $248 in the sale. I've tested the Garmin Forerunner 255 as well as the Garmin Forerunner 265 and Garmin Forerunner 570 — the two models that have come out since the 255 to supersede it — and when it comes to the core sports tracking experience on the watches the 255 holds its own. The Forerunner 255 offers multi-band GPS tracking, the most accurate mode, and a wide array of customizable sports modes. It also has detailed training analysis, even if it doesn't offer all the features available on the newer watches such as training readiness. Some of the bigger upgrades you get on newer Garmin watches include AMOLED screens, a revamped user interface and an improved optical heart rate sensor that's more accurate than the one on the Forerunner 255. You'll pay a lot more to get those new features though. Even the cheapest Forerunner in the current line-up — the Garmin Forerunner 165 — is more expensive than the Forerunner 255 at this reduced price. One thing you won't get with the Forerunner 255 is a lot of new features via software updates, because Garmin reserves those for its latest devices. It's a great watch with the features it has right now though, and you'll still get good customer support if anything goes wrong. Even with the Forerunner 255 being an older watch I think it's unlikely that its price drops further than this, so if you want a reliable sports watch for under $200, this might well be your best bet this Prime Day.

America's birthday is, of course, a cause for celebration. So is a 3-day holiday weekend that you can spend grilling and hanging out with friends and family. And if you're a runner, triathlete, or other kind of dedicated fitness fanatic, there's one more reason to light up some fireworks this weekend — Amazon's just dropped the price of the awesome Garmin Forerunner 255 GPS running smartwatch to an all-time low of just $200 (43% off). Any Garmin deal is going to get the attention of athletes and fitness buffs simply because Garmin has long been the gold standard of running watches for training, measuring your health data, and keeping you on course with its advanced GPS. But when one of Garmin's most popular models suddenly nosedives to its lowest price ever thanks to an Amazon 43% off sale, it's going to trigger a mad rush that might cause supplies to dip and dip fast. See at Amazon The Garmin Forerunner 255 is like having a running coach on your wrist. As you begin to train for your next race, the Forerunner 255 will have tips and personalized workout suggestions ready for you every day, based on your recent workout and also the health and sleep metrics it measures all day and night. The Forerunner 255 will give you a week's worth of suggested workouts, and then be able to adapt and modify them on the go based on your performance and recovery. The Forerunner 255 comes with free adaptive training plans from Garmin Coach for 5K, 10K, and half-marathons, and with the Garmin Connect smartphone app, you can also create and modify your own custom workouts. Punch in the course information for your upcoming race and the Forerunner 255 will customize your workouts and even give you a predicted completion time based on that specific course, the weather, and your training. The Forerunner 255 uses Garmin's SatIQ tech to keep its GPS optimized at all times, and when the satellite coverage is compromised by tall buildings or dense woods, the SatIQ can resort to Multiband GNSS to ensure your location is detected with great accuracy. Even with the GPS mode activated, the upgraded battery of the Forerunner 255 will last up to 30 hours, and when it's just being used as a smartwatch, that duration grows to an incredible 14 days before needing a recharge. In 3 short years since replacing the Forerunner 245, this Garmin running watch has become a huge favorite, especially among runners and other athletes. That's why this Amazon deal shaving the price down by 43% to an all-time low of just $200 is such a big deal, and a deal you really will not want to miss. See at Amazon

Warmer weather is finally here — which means outdoor activities, including running, are topping our agendas. If you need an excuse to upgrade your running gear, we have the perfect one just for you. Amazon is slashing the prices on the latest and best Garmin watches. For instance, the Garmin Epix Gen 2 is down to $483, a whopping 47% off, and the Forerunner 255 is just $299, saving you $100. Plus, with Father's Day right around the corner, these epic deals could also make the perfect gift for a sporty dad. Whether you need a rugged adventure watch or a sleek smartwatch, the Garmin sale on Amazon has a little something for everyone. Keep scrolling to check out all my favorite picks. This is the Garmin to get if you're buying a running watch for the first time. It offers a bright screen, easy to read stats, and long battery life. You'll also have access to PacePro suggested workouts, which is like having a running coach on your wrist. In our Garmin Forerunner 55 review, we said this watch was like having an expert coach on your wrist. The Garmin Venu Sq 2 offers 11-day battery life, 24/7 health tracking, 25+ sports apps, and smart notifications, keeping you connected on both Android and iOS. The Lily 2 Active is easily one of the sleekest-looking designs Garmin has come out with, and this new discount only sweetens the deal. Now, we'd not only recommend a watch on looks alone, but you're also getting access to a built-in GPS and a wealth of different sports modes. The new Garmin Forerunner 570 now supersedes the Forerunner 265 in the Garmin range and has a bigger, brighter screen plus a mic and speaker, but the Forerunner 265 is $200 cheaper thanks to this deal and matches the Forerunner 570 well on sports tracking features. This discount on the Garmin Venu 3 equals the lowest price it's ever gone for, with both the standard Venu 3 and smaller Venu 3S reduced by $100 at multiple retailers. It's a sleek AMOLED smartwatch with features like NFC payments and music storage on top of Garmin's reliably excellent sports tracking. The Garmin Epix 2 is currently on sale for 47% off The watch comes in three different colorways, but it's the white titanium design on the silver band that is the cheapest. The black titanium and slate steel models are also on sale but are more expensive. The Garmin Forerunner 970 has just launched, meaning now's the time to look for discounts on its predecessor the Garmin Forerunner 965, and this $100 discount doesn't disappoint. The Forerunner 965 is an incredible AMOLED sports watch with offline maps and a wealth of sports tracking and training analysis features all packed into a lightweight design. The Forerunner 970 has a brighter screen and some new features like a built-in flashlight, but will set you back $749 right now. The Fenix 8 is the top dog in Garmin's smartwatch range. The Garmin Fenix 8 only came out last August so to see the entire range reduced by $200 is remarkable. If you prefer big batteries to AMOLED screens then the Enduro 3 is the watch for you. It lasts up to 90 days on a charge in sunny conditions. The Enduro 3 has almost all the sports and navigation features you get on the Fenix 8, only lacking the latter's diveproof design and mic/speaker.
