A military personnel in gear next to a shoulder-fired launcher, representing the company's less-lethal defense technology. In March of this year, the firm announced the opening of its ammunition manufacturing facility in the United States, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, just five miles from its launcher production facility. The expansion has advanced Byrna Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:BYRN)'s transition to domestic manufacturing. It also positions the company well to meet growing demand, given the facility's capacity to produce 8 million rounds of its proprietary less-lethal ammunition per annum. On July 10, Byrna Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:BYRN) announced strong results for the second quarter of fiscal 2025, with revenue climbing 41% year-over-year to a record $28.5 million, driven by the launch of the new Compact Launcher (CL), broader brand adoption, and increased dealer and chain store sales. Net income was posted at $2.4 million, up 14% from the prior year's period. Despite the robust results, Byrna Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:BYRN)'s shares plunged by 29% in the five days following the earnings call. The significant dip suggests a 'sell the news' reaction from investors, who sold the stock, believing that the results may have been priced into its share price. Byrna Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:BYRN)'s shares have been volatile in 2025. While the stock is down 20% YTD, it had an impressive run between April and July, nearly doubling during the period. While we acknowledge the potential of BYRN as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. 3 Insurance Stocks We Steer Clear Of

Insurance firms play a critical role in the financial system, offering everything from property coverage to life insurance and specialized risk solutions. Market leaders have certainly capitalized on strong underwriting results and rising investment income to boost profitability, helping fuel a 2.6% gain for the industry over the past six months. This performance has closely followed the S&P 500. Regardless of these results, investors must exercise caution as many insurers are sensitive to catastrophic events and economic cycles. On that note, here are three insurance stocks we're swiping left on. Lincoln Financial Group (LNC) Market Cap: $5.90 billion Founded in 1905 by a group of Fort Wayne, Indiana businessmen who named the company after Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:LNC) provides insurance, retirement plans, and wealth management products through its subsidiaries, operating under four main segments: Annuities, Life Insurance, Group Protection, and Retirement Plan Services. Why Do We Avoid LNC? Insurance products are facing market challenges during this cycle, as seen in its flat net premiums earned over the last four years Book value per share tumbled by 13.2% annually over the last five years, showing insurance sector trends are working against its favor during this cycle Underwhelming 7.6% return on equity reflects management's difficulties in finding profitable growth opportunities Lincoln Financial Group's stock price of $34.55 implies a valuation ratio of 0.7x forward P/B. If you're considering LNC for your portfolio, see our FREE research report to learn more. Lemonade (LMND) Market Cap: $3.09 billion Built on the principle of giving back unused premiums to charitable causes selected by policyholders, Lemonade (NYSE:LMND) is a technology-driven insurance company that offers homeowners, renters, pet, car, and life insurance through an AI-powered digital platform. Why Do We Think Twice About LMND? Earnings growth underperformed the sector average over the last four years as its EPS grew by just 6.3% annually Annual book value per share declines for the past five years show its capital management struggled during this cycle Negative return on equity shows management lost money while trying to expand the business At $42.25 per share, Lemonade trades at 6.9x forward P/B. Check out our free in-depth research report to learn more about why LMND doesn't pass our bar. AXIS Capital (AXS) Market Cap: $7.64 billion Founded in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks when insurance capacity was scarce, AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (NYSE:AXS) is a global specialty insurer and reinsurer that provides coverage for complex risks across property, liability, professional lines, cyber, and other specialty markets. Why Does AXS Fall Short? 3.8% annual revenue growth over the last five years was slower than its insurance peers Annual net premiums earned growth of 2.5% over the last two years was below our standards for the insurance sector Low return on equity reflects management's struggle to allocate funds effectively AXIS Capital is trading at $97.11 per share, or 1.3x forward P/B. Byrna Technologies CEO 'pleased' with Trump tariffs hitting Chinese rivals

Byrna Technologies Inc. CEO Bryan Ganz has been "pleased" with some of the Trump administration's sweeping tariffs on imports, as they have made it more difficult for Chinese competitors to sell "inferior knockoffs" to U.S. consumers at low prices. "People's lives are at stake when they use our device," Ganz told Fox News Digital. "I'm not sure why people would buy a cheap product when it comes to saving their lives. … With President Trump's tariffs of 60% or 120% or 140% on these Chinese products, they can no longer sell these for prices below our cost to make the product." Fourteen Countries Have Been Given Until Aug. 1 To Negotiate Trade Deals With The Trump Administration Or Risk The Imposition Of Higher Tariffs. Byrna Technologies Inc. — which creates non-lethal firearms and has a production facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana — had more than $100 million in sales in the last 12 months. The company has sold more than 650,000 self-defense products, which have been used over 5,000 times to prevent crimes like carjackings and home invasions, Ganz said. The company reshored its manufacturing significantly after realizing that U.S. President Donald Trump would likely impose considerable tariffs if he were to be elected for a second term, he said. Trump Announces 25% Tariffs On Japan, South Korea Read On The Fox Business App "So a year and a half ago, we probably were producing about 34% of our components in the U.S. and 66% overseas," Ganz said. "… Over the last year and a half, we have moved production back to the United States so that 92% of our supply chain today is domestic, and only 8% is from countries outside the U.S." While most of Byrna Technologies' products are now American-made, a portion of its products are still imported from China. When these products were hit with significant tariffs — such as the 145% tariff placed on all Chinese imports in April — Ganz said that some Chinese companies "ate a significant portion" of the costs. Trump Pledges 50% Tariff On Copper Imports "A lot of Chinese companies are now quoting their prices in DDP — delivery duty paid," he said. "So they are in fact absorbing the payment of these tariffs, and I think most people don't really understand that." "As you can see with the deals that are being cut, they are sensible, reasonable tariff structures," Ganz said. "And it really is a win-win situation." In April, Trump announced a "reciprocal" tariff policy under which U.S. tariffs on goods imported from foreign countries would be based on the size of America's bilateral trade deficit with those countries. Airport issues warning over TSA lines and urges passengers to arrive 'extra early' after equipment issues

An airport has issued an urgent warning to travelers over TSA lines after suffering a slew of maintenance issues. Fort Wayne International Airport in Allen County, Indiana, took to Facebook to urge its passengers to arrive 'extra early' due to ongoing delays. The airport issued an update on Tuesday afternoon to explain that the issues that began earlier in the week were still persisting. 'ATTENTION PASSENGERS!' the initial post began. 'Due to maintenance issues with TSA equipment passengers are advised to arrive EXTRA EARLY for their departing flights! 'TSA lines have been long during peak travel times throughout the day, and we anticipate this to continue into tomorrow until the equipment is repaired. 'We always recommend that those passengers flying on Allegiant arrive at least two hours prior to departure, and other airlines at least 90 minutes (if not more) ahead of time. 'Please be patient as our TSA staff works hard to get each passenger safely screened and on their way to their flight! 'We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep passengers posted if anything changes!' The most recent update explained that 'the airport continues to be down to one lane at the TSA Checkpoint for passenger screening.' 'TSA is working diligently to fix the issue and get the equipment back up and running. 'Passengers should continue to give themselves additional time when coming to the airport this evening and throughout the day Wednesday.' Fort Wayne International Airport describes itself as 'Northeast Indiana's favorite airport known for Hoosier Hospitality and cookies upon arrival!' Its website declares that the transport hub 'aims to deliver top-notch customer service. 'From our Customer Service Agents, to our front office staff - we put passengers first and work hard to deliver the best customer experience possible.' The delays come after the TSA issued a warning to travelers about foods that could be confiscated before getting on board a flight. The official travel administration recently shared a post to X (formerly Twitter) about which popular snack was allowed through security. 'Here's a breakfast travel tip: We don't suggest leaving this delicious pastry behind,' it read. 'Donuts are good to go in carry-on or checked bags, no matter what toppings you choose. How many you decide to bring is up to you.' It paired the tweet with a picture of Homer Simpson eating a donut in the airport. Along with the post, the TSA also included a link to all the rules about taking foods and drinks on board. Each item was listed alongside the corresponding guidelines as well as whether they were allowed in a carry-on or checked baggage. It addressed a whole host of items - from alcohol and pizza to breast milk and live lobster.

ABC Cut Away From The NBA Finals With A Minute Left In The Pacers Game, And It's Actually Even More Infuriating Than You'd Guess

To me, the best sports movies of all time can't even measure up to the Indiana Pacers' current playoff run, as the team continues to pull off impossible wins that feel reminiscent of the true story behind Hoosiers. Despite that, people still continue to doubt the team, including those in Indiana, as a news station switched away from the game with just a minute to go. Advertisement In what might be one of the most infuriating things to see if you saw the miraculous comeback by the Pacers, who took their first lead of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with .3 seconds remaining in the game, a Fort Wayne news station cut away from it in its final minute. Watch the clip, which even mentions a local watch party for the game, below: How this happens, in Indiana no less, after the historical playoff run the Pacers have had is unbelievable. Even setting aside this is the first time the franchise has been to the NBA Finals in 25 years, last night marked the third time that Tyrese Haliburton had won a game in the 2025 playoffs in the final five seconds. It's not just unbelievable, it's something no other player has done in decades: This doesn't even include the game-tying shot he hit at the buzzer against the New York Knicks, which ultimately led to a big feud between Pat McAfee and Ben Stiller, and somehow John Mellencamp even got in the mix. All this to say that this Indiana news station should've known better than to cut away from the game in the final minute. That's because this team is doing things that feel improbable in even the best underdog sports movies. Advertisement More On The NBA undefined In fairness to WPTA Fort Wayne, I noticed they have control of multiple stations, including a CW affiliate in addition to an ABC feed. It's also worth noting that the game abruptly cut back to the Finals in the midst of the news intro. So this could've been an instance where the 11 p.m. news was running on the other channels, and someone mistakenly had it take over the ABC feed. As impressive as it is, the Indiana Pacers are still underdogs to the overwhelming favorite, the Oklahoma City Thunder. This playoff series is about to be cinematic, especially if you have a Netflix subscription. Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have had the Starting Five Season 2 crew following them all season long. At this point, I think it's almost worth a spinoff series just following these two players, though I'm certainly biased, being from Indiana. The NBA Finals kick off Game 2 on ABC on Sunday, June 8th at 8:00 p.m. ET.
