Fortnite Squid Game Reload start date and how you can play the Squid Grounds map

The new Fortnite Squid Game Reload event is set to bring a new map, a loot pool, and a new chance for players to earn themselves some free Fortnite Squid Game rewards The latest updates to Fortnite Reload are nearly upon us, and they're arriving with a vibrant pink makeover as Squid Game invades the mode with a fresh map and loot pool. Despite being on its Summer break as of update 36.10, Fortnite has truly ramped up the action. The content continues to roll in, and it appears that Fortnite has grander plans for Squid Game following the Netflix series' maligned collaboration with Black Ops 6. This is particularly exciting news for players who have been progressing through the Super season Battle Pass and are constantly on the lookout for new cosmetics. ‌ Initially announced as a crossover with Fortnite's UEFN, the arrival of Squid Game on the island has long been anticipated. Its current appearance is certainly a surprise for Reload fans as it takes over the mode and commits to its new Squid Grounds theme. ‌ The timing couldn't be better, as Fortnite is currently undergoing a significant mode revamp with the introduction of Fortnite Blitz Royale. But what exactly should you know about this new mode? Here's all the information you need regarding the new Fortnite Squid Game Reload crossover. Fortnite Squid Game Reload Start time The Fortnite Squid Game Reload mode is poised to reintroduce the Reload game mode to the game on Friday, June 27. This fresh map will be the sole Reload map during its launch weekend, and it's set to replace Oasis in the map rotations when it resumes at 4am PDT / 7am EDT / 12pm BST on Monday, June 30. Oasis is expected to make a comeback to the game at some point in the future, and unless there are grander plans for a new map to immediately succeed this Squid Game map, it's likely to return once the crossover concludes. New Map The Fortnite Squid Game Reload event kicks off with an entirely new map, boasting several novel themed locations. The new map introduces a host of newly named POIs, including: New Item Pool To celebrate this new crossover, a new item pool has been launched in Reload, featuring both classic and new weapons, including an item making its debut in Reload. The loot pool for Squid Grounds includes: Ranked Play The Fortnite Squid Game Reload takeover is wiping out all your progress to date and resetting Reload ranks the moment the new Squid Grounds map is unveiled. This might not be as severe as it sounds, though, as your starting rank in the next season will be determined by the one you've earned so far, although the specifics of the change have yet to be disclosed. To discover your new rank, all you need to do is participate in one match in either Ranked Reload or Ranked Reload Zero Build, and your corresponding level will be revealed. Free Squid Game Outfit If you're up for a bit of competition, you can join the Squid Grounds Cup starting on Wednesday, June 25, where you'll be playing in a Reload Trios Fill tournament on the Slurp Rush map. The top performers from each region will bag the Games Guard Outfit before it hits the Item Shop, and if they manage to score at least eight points, they'll also earn the Masterful State Spray. The new Fortnite Squid Game mode is shaping up to be quite thrilling, and even though there are more Fortnite Squid Game Outfits and Twitch Drops on the horizon, this is a significant stride forward for the game, particularly given the lacklustre performance of Squid Game in Call of Duty. This is certainly a refreshing change of pace.
