Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 25: Aamir Khan movie struggles to retain momentum, earnings plunge 86%

worldwide Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 25: Aamir Khan's sports drama seems to be struggling at the box office after its 4th weekend comeback. Finding it difficult to retain momentum, earnings plunged 86% on Monday, July 14. Made on a budget of ₹ 80 crore, the emotional drama missed ₹ 1 crore mark by a big margin on fourth Monday and managed to rake in ₹ 41 lakh net at the domestic box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings 25-day India box office total to ₹ 161.01 crore net. Over this weekend, the movie collected a massive ₹ 5.34 crore net by amassing ₹ 2.5 crore net earnings on Saturday followed by ₹ 2.85 crore net on Sunday. A significant drop in footfall was witnessed on July 14 as Sitaare Zameen Par registered an overall 9.98 percent Hindi occupancy on Monday. This Bollywood movie, directed by RS Prasanna, opened to ₹ 10.7 crore net on June 20. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is Amir Khan's fifth career best after 3 Idiots and needs around ₹ 50 crore net more to topple its record. For lead actress Genelia Deshmukh, the 'spiritual' successor to Taare Zameen Par is her career best after 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.' Considering global performance, the remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions grossed ₹ 245.90 crore at the worldwide box office in 24 days. It raked in ₹ 191.90 crore gross in India and the remaining ₹ 54 crore came from overseas market. Earlier, Aamir Khan declared that the film would not be release on OTT, but according to the latest reports, there is some change in the plan. Giving full control over the movie's release window and pricing, the makers are considering a pay-per-view release on YouTube. 'It's a very brave idea. The eight-week window is a normal trend in Bollywood (to release the film after eight weeks on the digital platform), and Aamir Khan has decided against that. He has not even sold the digital rights yet. I think it's a very brave step. He had offers, but he still did not get tempted by those offers and did not sign the deal,' Fortune India quoted film trade analyst Taran Adarsh as saying.

Svayam's Sminu Jindal Named in Fortune India's Most Powerful Women 2025, Honoured in Mumbai

Sminu Jindal, Founder-Chairperson of accessibility organisation Svayam and Managing Director of Jindal SAW Ltd., has been named among Fortune India's Most Powerful Women 2025, at a felicitation held recently in Mumbai. The award was conferred by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari during the ceremony, in recognition of Ms. Jindal's consistent efforts in advancing accessibility across India's public spaces, transport hubs, tourism, and sporting arenas. Svayam's Sminu Jindal Named in Fortune India's Most Powerful Women 2025, Honoured in Mumbai 'Recognition like this reminds us that mobility is a right, not a privilege. Accessibility enables participation, builds confidence, and creates opportunities for people facing mobility challenges. As India plans its future, we must ensure our spaces grow with us, allowing everyone to contribute fully. This honour belongs to every individual and organisation working to make inclusion real,' said Sminu Jindal. A car crash at eleven set her on a path where she realised how physical barriers limit opportunities. This experience led to the creation of Svayam, which started as an information platform for those seeking clarity on accessibility rights and has grown into an organisation driving change across sectors. Svayam has worked with the Archaeological Survey of India to make the Qutub Minar India's first accessible UNESCO site, improved facilities at airports and transport terminals, and collaborated with stakeholders to redesign public spaces for ease of movement. Svayam's commitment to accessible sports has supported para-athletes across major platforms. The organisation partnered with the Paralympic Committee of India to assist the Indian contingent during the Tokyo Paralympics and the Paris Games, ensuring seamless access across venues and accommodations. Svayam has also contributed to the Khelo India Para Games and the Indian Open Para-Athletic International Championship, supporting athletes through logistical and infrastructural guidance. In cricket, Svayam's collaboration with the Disability Cricket Council of India (DCCI) has helped India's physically disabled cricket team during tournaments, including the Physically Disabled Champions Trophy, which India secured in 2025, encouraging young players to pursue sports confidently. Notably, in a landmark moment for the sport, the Indian disability cricket team played at Lord's for the first time, reflecting growing recognition and encouraging young players to pursue their aspirations in sports. Under Sminu's leadership, Jindal SAW Ltd has integrated inclusive practices, demonstrating that industry can align growth with the principles of universal design while creating meaningful opportunities for persons with disabilities. Looking ahead, Svayam is preparing to host India's first National Summit on Accessible Sports and Tourism later this year, bringing together policymakers, industry experts, and advocates to develop actionable frameworks that place inclusion at the centre of planning. As India continues to expand its sporting and tourism potential, Svayam remains committed to ensuring that public spaces welcome everyone, fostering a society where people, regardless of mobility status, can travel, participate, and build their futures without barriers. About Svayam Svayam is a leading accessibility organization that aims to reform infrastructure and transportation to make it accessible for people with reduced mobility. Accessibility aids individuals and gives them the freedom to independently explore the built environment around them, irrespective of their physical capabilities. This was on philanthropist-business visionary Sminu Jindals mind when she founded Svayam in October 2000. An initiative of the Sminu Jindal Charitable Trust, Svayam is a not-for-profit accessibility pioneer that focuses on creating a barrier-free world for all.

Kavya Maran reacts to her viral IPL memes: ‘If you had a camera on everyone at work…'

She's the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad and one of the most meme'd faces in Indian cricket. But for Kavya Kalanithi Maran, the emotional reactions that flood social media every IPL season come from a very real place. In a recent interview, Maran addressed how her deeply personal investment in her franchise—and the game itself—makes her expressions impossible to fake. Now managing teams across three continents, she spoke candidly about balancing business, fandom, and an ever-watchful camera. Viral reactions and the meme queen label Kavya Maran has become a permanent fixture in IPL broadcasts, not for commentary or soundbites, but for her candid reactions. From clenched jaws during losses to euphoric cheers in key victories, her emotional visibility has turned her into an internet meme staple. According to Maran, this fame wasn't by design. 'Those are my raw emotions that you're seeing,' she told Fortune India. 'When I go to Ahmedabad or Chennai, and I'm sitting many feet away, somewhere in the box, the cameraman manages to find me.' She understands the humor behind the memes as well, stating that she was 'sure if you had a camera on everybody sitting in the office, dealing with their projects, and stocks going up and down, you'd get the same emotions.' A businesswoman behind the screens Kavya's expressions may light up meme pages, but her responsibilities span global cricket. Apart from SRH in the IPL, she also oversees the Northern Superchargers in the UK's Hundred and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in South Africa's SA20 league. Her focus remains razor-sharp on performance. After SRH's last-place finish in 2023, she led the franchise to a runner-up finish in 2024 and a mid-table slot in 2025. 'When you put your heart and soul into something, you naturally tend to get very personally attached to its successes and failures,' she explained. She may be trending online, but Kavya Maran's story is rooted in her passion and business, with zero staged expressions.

Vivek Oberoi's net worth accelerated to Rs 1200 crore after his move to Dubai, says ‘family voted to stay in the country'

Vivek Oberoi started his journey in the movies in the early 2000s and for many years, while he was largely focused on his acting career, he also built up a business portfolio that has now resulted in the actor's net worth being Rs 1200 crore. In a recent interview, Vivek, who now lives in Dubai and runs his real estate company from there, shared that he first moved out of the country during the pandemic for a short term but soon, the family decided to move there full time. He shared that his family voted on the move and it was then decided that they would be living in Dubai. In an interaction with the YouTube channel Owais Andrabi: Dubai Property Insider, Vivek called Dubai his 'home away from home' and added, 'I came here during Covid initially. It was supposed to be a short term move and I just loved the experience. I asked my family and democratically the family voted to stay. They said, 'We like it here, we would like to stay here. It's so close to home that we don't feel we are far away'. We fly home for the weekend, fly home every holiday that we get and now slowly, over the last 4 years, this has started feeling more like home.' Vivek also spoke about the 'incredible positive atmosphere' of Dubai that has apparently helped in the multiplication of his wealth. 'You have complete freedom. Just respect he local laws, respect the local customs and culture, respect the local people and you have no problem. It's a conflict free relaxed space where you can thrive,' he said. In the same chat, Vivek revealed that he has invested in a lab grown diamond business, Solitario, and shared that the company made Rs 95-100 crore in the last financial year. He is also invested in a premium gin brand, valued at 30 million pounds, where he owns around 21 percent of the business. Earlier, on Franchise India's YouTube channel, Vivek said that he is also a part of a business which finances student' fee, which was valued at Rs 3,400 crore. He said, 'I set up a start-up which was into education fee financing, non collateralised. It became very big. We reached 12,000 schools, colleges, and universities through a B2B network. But then we connected to the customer, and owned that data. We got to know our customer directly, which was 45 lakh individuals who were going to school or college. That was very rich data, and that's how the company was valued at almost $400 million (around Rs 3,400 crore).' While Vivek had been an entrepreneur from a young age, he decided to branch out in 2009 as he did not want to be solely dependent on his income from the movies. He told SCREEN in an earlier chat, 'It was only around 2009 when I decided I didn't want to be completely dependent on this and built my economic independence. I didn't want to be in a situation where a lobby could decide your future. Somebody could bully you into doing something because they controlled things.'
