Will Ashley finally hugs his mom; Ralph De Leon gets boost from dad
Kuya's surprise for his Big Four housemates continued on the latest episode of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." On Thursday, Will Ashley reunited with his mom and Ralph De Leon reunited with his dad as a special treat from Kuya ahead of the Big Night. Will showed everyone why he's the Mama's Dreambae of Cavite and the Nation's Son, turning into a soft little boy when he saw Mommy Mindy in the living room. He ran towards her and hugged her at once, something that he had wanted to do since the first nomination night. He also cried happy tears and told her repeatedly, "Miss kita." After the emotional mother and son reunion, Will saw that Mommy Mindy brought his favorite food in the house: his beloved siomai. He introduced his mom to the housemates and they all sat down in the dining area to chat. A little later, Ralph's father, Tito Raffy, entered the house from the confession room. Ralph ran to greet him and also hugged him tight. Tito Raffy brought Ralph's favorite food, shrimp, which he shared with the rest of the housemates. The elder De Leon gamely went along with the housemates with they began to tease AZ Martinez with his presence. Mommy Mindy and Tito Raffy also joined forces with their respective children to begin the housemates' weekly task. Mommy Mindy and Will were the first duo to try maneuvering the ball in the "Road to Big Night" challenge. They succeeded dropping the ball in the target hole after a few tries of figuring out their technique. Ralph and Tito Raffy followed suit and did it perfectly in one try. The housemates will continue doing the task themselves, as Mommy Mindy and Tito Raffy had to end their visit. Previously, Esnyr and Charlie Fleming were also visited by their father and mother. RaWi and CharEs were the first two duos to make it to the Big Four. The remaining two spots will be decided via the upcoming Big Jump challenges. Shuvee Etrata, Klarisse De Guzman rooting for Mika Salamanca, Brent Manalo to get next Big Four spot
Shuvee Etrata and Klarisse De Guzman are rooting for Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo, also known as BreKa, to be the third duo to make it to the Big Four of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." ShuKla made this known during their guesting in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Thursday where they were asked who they think is the least deserving duo to make it to the Big Four. Refusing to name any of the remaining duos, Shuvee and Klang playfully answered that their ShuKla duo is probably the least deserving. Klarisse then told Tito Boy that she is praying for BreKa to get the next Big Four spot. "BreKa, ako din," Shuvee said. When asked why, Klarisse explained that Mika and Brent's duo best exemplifies collaboration. "Bukod sa, para po sa akin, sila na 'yung nag-e-example po talaga ng collab kasi grabe po sila," she said. "Hindi lang po sa tasks makikita mo 'yung collaboration nila kundi kung paano nila tinutulungan ang isa't isa sa personal lives, kung may problema ang isa't isa." Shuvee agreed, adding, "Sobra pong andaming growth po na napakita ng dalawang 'yun sa loob ng Bahay." Charlie Fleming and Esnyr were the first duo to make it to the Big Four after being voted by both the remaining duos and duo challengers. Will Ashley and Ralph De Leon then earned the second Big Four spot after winning the first Big Jump challenge on Tuesday's episode. Three duos are vying for the two remaining slots through two more Big Jump challenges: Mika and Brent, AZ Martinez and River Joseph, and Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera. Dallas Mavericks select Cooper Flagg with the 1st pick in the 2025 NBA Draft
The Dallas Mavericks have no more jaw-dropping news or tricks up their sleeve and have selected Duke freshman Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. This choice was pretty much a foregone conclusion after the year Flagg had at Duke, making it a simple decision for whichever team held the first overall pick. But nothing is ever certain in the NBA. In a year when the Mavericks made one of the most shocking trades in NBA history — trading away what seemed to be the cornerstone of their franchise, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers — general manager Nico Harrison faced immense pressure to make up for what many considered a disastrous trade. Just his luck, the Mavericks won the NBA Draft lottery despite having just a 1.8% chance of landing the No. 1 pick, and, unlike Doncic, they weren't going to trade away that coveted asset. Flagg was one of the most anticipated recruits in the past decade, often being brought up in comparison to fellow Duke star and No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson, another Duke standout and former No. 1 pick. Flagg lived up to the hype — and even surpassed it. In his lone year, he paced Duke in points per game (19.2), rebounds (7.5) and assists (4.2), while leading them to a 31-3 regular-season record. The Blue Devils made their way back to the Final Four, where they ultimately lost to the Houston Cougars. Following the season, Flagg was awarded the Naismith National Player of the Year, the Associated Press Player of the Year, and the John R. Wooden Award. He also claimed ACC Player of the Year honors. He became the fourth freshman in NCAA history to win NPOY. Now that Flagg has made it to the NBA, all eyes will be on him to be the next superstar, and reinvigorate the franchise that traded Doncic. He's in a great position, with the opportunity to learn from four-time All-NBA forward Anthony Davis, and, potentially, play alongside another former Duke star, Kyrie Irving, who is expected to return from injury later this season.
