Video: Car drives through anti-ICE protesters in Chicago

A new video shows a car driving through a crowd of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters in Chicago on Tuesday. According to Fox 32, hundreds of people gathered in Chicago on Tuesday to protest President Donald Trump's ICE operations following multiple days of protests and violent riots in Los Angeles. In a video shared by End Wokeness on X, formerly Twitter, a maroon sedan can be seen driving through the crowd of walking and biking protesters in downtown Chicago. A police officer can be seen trying to hit one of the windows of the maroon sedan in a failed attempt to stop the driver from continuing to drive through the crowd of protesters. Regarding potential charges for the driver responsible for driving through the crowd of protesters on Tuesday, the Chicago Police Department told Fox News that the department was waiting to hear from the police officers who responded to the scene. READ MORE: 700 Marines deployed to Los Angeles amid major riots NBC Chicago reported that the Chicago Police Department confirmed on Wednesday that a 66-year-old woman had been hit while standing in the road during Tuesday's protest. Chicago Police Department officials explained that the woman received medical treatment at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after suffering a fractured arm. According to the Chicago Police Department, the 66-year-old was released from the hospital after receiving treatment and no other injuries were reported from the incident. Nick Wozniak, a witness of Tuesday's incident, told Fox 32 that people were 'diving out of the way and the person [was] shouting and they kept barreling through the crowd.' Angel, another witness, told Fox 32 that the car refused to stop, 'and the lady got knocked over in the process.' The witness added, 'I don't think she got hit by the car, but in the commotion of people running though the side.' According to Fox 32, the majority of the protesters in Chicago were peaceful on Tuesday; however, some of the protesters vandalized police vehicles. The outlet noted that the city temporarily suspended public transportation in the downtown region as a result of the protests.

Chicago weather: Chance of late afternoon showers, storms as air quality improves

CHICAGO - It's shaping up to be a decent weather Sunday as the air quality continues to improve, but there is a chance of showers later on. Fox 32 Meteorologist Mark Strehl has the forecast. What To Expect There was still a bit of haze in the air, which the Chicago area will likely still have to deal with over the next few days, if not longer, with those Canadian forest fires continuing. Still, there were no air quality alerts in the Chicagoland area on Sunday. Temperatures were reaching the upper 70s with partly cloudy conditions until around midday today. But by around 5 p.m., there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms with the possibility of brief gusty winds and maybe even some hail. What's next Rain chances remain into Monday, but then temps will stay warm throughout the week. By Wednesday into Thursday, we're talking temperatures highs into the middle 80s with a true taste of summer.

23 students at Chicago high school achieve perfect ACT score: ‘Academic greatness'

Nearly two dozen students at a single Chicago high school got a perfect score on the ACT. The 23 teenagers — nearly 5% of the junior class at Whitney Young Magnet High School — were honored in a special ceremony Monday for the monumental achievement. 'Today is one of those rare, extraordinary moments in a school's history when we get to pause and celebrate academic greatness,' Rickey Harris, the school's principal, said at the ceremony. Advertisement Nearly 5% of the junior class scored a perfect 36 on the ACT. Instagram/whitneymyounghs Just 125 students across the Windy City achieved the feat this year, according to preliminary ACT data obtained by Fox 32. Typically, just 1% of high schoolers take home the perfect score of 36 per year. Advertisement But at Whitney Young Magnet, the students had been aiming for the goal for months. 'I've been preparing for about the last year, kind of like intermittently,' Bennett Star told WBTV-3. 'Today is one of those rare, extraordinary moments in a school's history when we get to pause and celebrate academic greatness,' said Principal Rickey Harris. WBTV3 'I took about eight practice tests just to practice it and prepare for it.' Advertisement Mila Martinez said her father was simply overjoyed when he heard the news. 'He started crying. He's from Puerto Rico. He never took the ACT, so for our family, it's a huge accomplishment,' she told the outlet. Harris said the student's victory was in line with what is expected at the magnet school, which in 2018 had five students who achieved the feat. He compared them to legendary Michael Jordan, who famously sported the number 23. Advertisement 'Just like MJ, our 23 didn't settle for average,' Harris added. 'Michael Jordan once said, 'I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.' Today, you all are living proof of that.'
