Frank Roche: What actually happens when managers decide to build a siege mentality?
Frank Roche: What actually happens when managers decide to build a siege mentality? Jack O'Connor and Jim McGuinness have sought to create an 'us-and-them' approach, but that doesn't mean it will lead to success Donegal manager Jim McGuinness talks to his players before their qualifier clash with Mayo in Dr Hyde Park. GAA Weekend Preview as round robin series goes down to the wire
With Dublin, Donegal and Mayo among the big guns all in danger of an early All-Ireland exit - this weekend is sure to serve up some thrillers. Armagh may be through but they could land a fatal blow to last year's beaten finalists Galway in the Group of Death, while Dublin desperately need Con O'Callaghan to be fit when they meet Derry. There's no room for error and the final outcome is almost impossible to call, but Frank Roche and Michael Verney try to do just that as they preview all the action.

GAA – Tipp and Cork go head-to-head in crunch Munster SHC clash while Donegal and Down face off in Ulster SFC
Live scores: Munster SHC round 2 Waterford 2-23 Clare 0-21 (full-time) RTE 4.0: Cork v Tipperary RTE Leinster SFC semi-finals Louth 1-18 Kildare 0-18 (full-time) GAA+ Meath v Dublin, Portlaoise GAA+ Ulster SFC semi-final Down 0-7 Donegal 1-12 (half-time) BBC Leinster SHC Round 2 Kilkenny 2-30 Antrim 2-12 (full-time) Joe McDonagh Cup Carlow 3-27 Kerry 0-17 (full-time) Nickey Rackard Cup Roscommon 1-15 Armagh 0-15 (full-time) 4 minutes ago Frank Roche in O'Connor Park: Delirium for Louth, despair for Kildare. Ger Brennan's men conspired to win this must-not-lose Leinster SFC semi-final at Tullamore thanks to a late scoring burst, leaving the Lilywhites to lament not just what happened but the how and why of this galling defeat. For Brian Flanagan's shattered troops, the Tailteann Cup now beckons for the second straight summer. They can only hope it proves a more fulfilling engagement than last year's off-Broadway finale to Glenn Ryan's reign. For Louth, a third consecutive Leinster final looms on Sunday week – something the county hasn't achieved since 1914. But, once the initial thrill fades, they will wonder how they quite managed it. Kildare lost despite a whirlwind start (they led by 0-8 to 0-2 after 15 minutes, having converted eight of their opening nine attempts) and despite dominating possession for large tracts of the second half. Yet despite all that, they trailed by four at half-time – 1-11 to 0-10 – after a succession of errors allowed Louth to get a foothold before the winners struck for a crucial goal just before the hooter. Peter Lynch's foot pass initiated that move, with returning All-Star Craig Lennon winning possession on the turn and releasing Kieran McArdle. His handpass across the goalmouth was fisted home by Conall McKeever. Kildare protested over a square ball; TV replays suggested it was a borderline call when the final pass was made, but referee Brendan Griffin allowed the goal to stand after consulting with his umpires. Onto the second half, where Louth were still holding onto a four-point lead after Ryan Burns struck for his third point in the 49th minute. From there on, however, Kildare's stranglehold on possession gradually told on the scoreboard with Alex Beirne and Darragh Kirwan delivering key scores to allow them to draw level by the 61st minute. The brilliant Lennon, with his fourth point, restored Louth's lead only for Colm Dalton to counter. With the game still deadlocked, Beirne almost struck for a 65th minute goal but his first-time shot in a crowded goalmouth flashed wide. That enabled Louth to push for home, thanks to aspo McArdle point and an inspirational two-pointer from midfielder Tommy Durnin. A late sequence of Kildare '45', after the hooter, failed to deliver an equalising goal and Louth, somehow, march on. 16 minutes ago Donnchadh Boyle in Portlaoise: John Small back in for Dublin along with his brother Paddy and Lorcan O'Dell. Greg McEneaney, Sean Bugler and Ross McGarry drop to subs. Jack Flynn misses out for Meath. Adam O'Neill comes in while Ronan Jones wears 8 and starts on bench. James Conlon in for Shane Walsh. 17 minutes ago Michael Verney in Walsh Park: Bennett double sends Waterford on their way Stephen Bennett (2-8) marked his 100th competitive appearance for Waterford with a virtuoso display and his brace of second-half goals sent them on their way to a big win in Walsh Park this afternoon. It looked like Clare, minus inspirational captain Tony Kelly, had weathered a Déise storm when coming from seven behind after 19 minutes, 0-10 to 0-3, to trail by just three at half-time. With the wind at their backs, the Banner were expected to kick on but Bennett, ably assisted by the brilliant Jamie Barron (0-4), had other ideas as he slotted away a 44th minute penalty. The Ballysaggart attacker added another 14 minutes later when showing a poacher's instincts to beat Eibhéar Qulligan for a second time as the home side coasted home by eight points, 2-23 to 0-21. That leaves Waterford in a great position and top of the Munster SHC round-robin table, for now, with two points after just one game with Limerick heading to face them in Walsh Park next Saturday. Defending All-Ireland champions Clare, on the other hand, must regroup for what is a do-or-die tie against Tipperary in Ennis on Saturday, May 10. 21 minutes ago Kilkenny outscore Antrim by 2-13 to 0-1 in the last 25 minutes to win by eighteen points Eoin Cody and Martin Keoghan got the goals for the Cats. 23 minutes ago Louth defeat Kildare by three, booking place in Leinster final and Sam Maguire football Late points from Craig Lennon, Kieran McArdle and an orange flag from Tommy Durnin help them to a 1-18 to 0-18 victory.
