Tom Petty's Malibu estate returns for sale asking $15.49M

A piece of California music history is coming back up for sale — and it really rocks. The late Tom Petty's Malibu estate is hitting the market for $15.49 million, Gimme Shelter has learned. That price marks a listing discount. In the summer of 2024, news broke that the property was set to list for $19 million with another brokerage. Petty — the singer, songwriter and guitarist — was known for his timeless, and masterful, rock anthems like 'Free Fallin'' and 'I Won't Back Down.' Along with being known for his band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, he was also part of the Traveling Wilburys in the late 1980s — with fellow legends Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne. 9 Petty passed away in 2017 at the age of 66. He bought this Mediterranean-style retreat — which spans 2.6 acres — in 1998 for $3.75 million, sources said. It had served as his main residence ever since. Untouched by the wildfires that ravaged parts of Southern California, including LA, Malibu and the Pacific Palisades, the 8,744-square-foot, single-story home is on a private, double-gated street above Escondido Beach and Paradise Cove. Also notable, the property comes with Petty's music studio, which he converted from a two-bedroom guest house. It's pre-wired and acoustically designed. Details include hand-painted Spanish tiles, a carved skylight, vintage chandeliers and five fireplaces — plus an eat-in chef's kitchen that anchors the home. There's also a 'romantic' main bedroom suite, according to the listing. 9 The interiors fill with light. Pierre Galant 9 A well-lit gym. The offering also includes an additional one-bedroom guest house, staff quarters and parking for around 15 vehicles. The listing brokers are Myra Nourmand and Levi Freeman of Nourmand & Associates.

Justin Bieber Posted A Cryptic Message About 'Fears' And Letting Go 'To Mature' After Pushing Back Against Rumors He And Hailey Are Divorcing

Since they tied the knot in 2018, it's been hard for Justin and Hailey Bieber to avoid divorce rumors. Whether it's fans picking apart their social media posts or quotes from their family members, sleuths online are pretty much always speculating that their marriage is on the rocks. But, the couple — who welcomed their baby boy, Jack Blues Bieber, last year — have pushed back against divorce rumors and made it clear that they're a united team. Only last month, Justin was forced to clarify that he and Hailey are all good after fans online noticed that he'd unfollowed her on Instagram. Setting the record straight, he wrote on his Instagram story: 'Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. Shit is getting suss out here.' Around the same time, a source also talked to People about the 'constant split rumors,' emphasizing that Justin and Hailey are 'fine' and that 'anyone who spends a lot of time with them can tell how in love they are and also how super focused they are on their marriage.' 'They are both very mature for their age and so in it together. It's [a] very special marriage,' the insider added. And now, off the back of all the unfollowing headlines, Justin has offered some words of advice to his Instagram followers about growth and how to 'enter into a life of love.' On Feb. 20, Justin — who's open about his Christian beliefs — posted a lengthy and cryptic message to his Instagram Story set to the sound of 'Free Fallin'' by John Mayer. 'Its time to grow up,' he began. 'Changing is about letting go ! Not trying harder! Are you tired of trying to follow all of the rules in hopes to get the results you crave? I've found love to be more powerful than rules.' Raymond Hall / GC Images Admitting that he's not always 'good' at following rules, Justin told his followers: 'u dont need to follow rules to enter into a life of love. U just receive so enter love living! God always grants us love! Its one of his promises! Upon receiving Gods love! U start to change and start following love.' The post concluded with sentiments about growth and maturity, with the singer advising that 'you don't work to mature,' you 'let go to mature.' 'Today im letting go and remembering the weight isnt on me to change. The weight is on God,' he wrote. 'So I give all my insecurities and my fears to him this morning. Because I know he gladly takes it. Asking Jesus to genuinely help me with simply the next step today.' So, it certainly sounds like Justin is working through some feelings — and maybe that'll coincide with some new music. Notably, JB has been more active on social media in recent months, dropping hints that he's gearing up to drop his first new album since 2021. Here's to hoping!

Benefit concert to raise money for victims of California wildfires

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Community members gathered at Jack Quinn's Irish Pub and Restaurant on Saturday, Feb. 15, for a benefit concert preformed by local artists to raise money for those impacted by the California wildfires. The cold weather on Saturday did not stop people from going to the free event. Everyone warmed up pretty quickly from all the dancing. The idea for the benefit concert was Jason Lee's, a U.S. Navy veteran who has always had a heart for giving back. 'We're having so much fun, we just came to see the live music,' said Becky Lungren. The vibes were electric, filled with dancing, music, beer and good food. 'Yeah, we came to check out some live music and have a good time,' said another group enjoying their Saturday. Some were too shy to fully break out in dance, so they enjoyed the music with a subtle foot tap. 'Well, the blues band that just played was just awesome, and just you could not sit still,' said Holly Lungren, one of the people dancing. All of the proceeds from the concert went directly to the Red Cross to show support for the wildfires in California. The man behind the mic and the idea, Jason Lee, is the lead singer and guitarist of Jason Lee Rock and Roll. He said he found his soul through music. 'Music is life, it's why our hearts have beats, we're just out here having fun,' said Lee. He said his love for rock and roll came when he was just five years old. 'Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Free Fallin' cassette tape driving down the road with my dad, five years old. Ever since then, music, it just takes you on a journey and everybody's got certain songs that they hear and you know exactly where you were the first time you heard that song, and it's almost like you can relive some of those,' he said. There were also performances from two additional local bands, English and Steven, and Randy Stephens and The Groove Makers. 'Honestly, it's just like the ultimate expression for us as far as like talent and what we can do to like, try to make the world better, whether it's relating with, you know, bad things or helping lift people up, forget things,' said Aaron Peeples, another local artist. Jack Quinn's Irish Pub and Restaurant is contributing to the cause by donating 15% of Saturday's proceeds. 'It's just a matter about getting people back in the comfort of their homes and rebuilding their lives, and we can rebuild. That's what we do here in the Land of the Free, America. It's great when we get knocked down, we get back up again and just keep getting up,' said Lee. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
