(Courtesy: Ontario Provincial Police) Ontario Provincial Police are looking for a person who was driving a stolen vehicle involved in a collision on Highway 6. In a social media post at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the crash happened at Concession 11 East in the community of Freelton, just southeast of Puslinch. He said one of the vehicles involved, a white van, had been reported stolen a few days earlier. '[The van] was involved in an intersection crash as it cut across Highway 6 here at the 11th Concession,' he explained. 'Hamilton [Police] has their canine units here looking for the suspect who took off on foot after the collision,' he added. The other driver involved in the crash reported minor injuries.

OPP seek public assistance in search for missing Freelton man near Luther Marsh

(Source: OPP) Ontario Provincial Police in Wellington County are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 25-year-old man from the Freelton area. On Monday around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in a ditch at the corner of Line 4 and East West Luther Townline in Arthur, just south of the Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area. According to police, the caller reported the vehicle had been left there for two days before contacting authorities. Through investigation, officers determined the vehicle belongs to Matthew, a 25-year-old man who had been reported missing on Saturday. He was last seen by his mother. 'The public can expect a police presence in the area for a prolonged period of time as a result of the investigation / search,' police said in a media release Tuesday. Matthew is described as being 5'8' with a slim build, brown curly hair, a light beard, blue eyes, and wearing black glasses.
