Airlines Cancel More French Flights as Strike Hits Travel Season
Airlines across Europe have canceled hundreds of flights on the second day of an air traffic controllers' strike in France that's causing chaos just as the busiest travel season of the year gets underway. A total of 658 departures and 645 arrivals at French airports were axed on Friday, according to data by Cirium. That's up from 455 departures and 463 arrivals scrapped on Thursday. Ryanair Holdings Plc has called on the European Commission to reform the region's air traffic control services after it was forced to scrap more than 400 flights because of the strike.
