Luna Blaise of Manifest fame reveals she trained in Muay Thai boxing for Jurassic World Rebirth
Luna Blaise, formerly known for her roles in NBC and Netflix's Manifest, as well as ABC's Fresh Off the Boat, is slated to star in the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth which comes out on July 2, 2025. In a June 25 interview with NBC's Today show, Luna opened up about her experiences in shooting for Jurassic World Rebirth, including the fact that she learned Muay Thai boxing in Thailand. She made it clear that she expected a physically and emotionally challenging experience and was ready to put her best foot forward. Luna Blaise plays Teresa Delgado in the movie, who's a member of a shipwrecked civilian family alongside her father, Reuben Delgado (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and younger sister Isabella Delgado (played by Audrina Miranda). Luna Blaise had high praise for the Jurassic World Rebirth crew Luna Blaise agreed with the Today hosts that being a part of the storied Jurassic Park franchise was a dream come true. She also called the crew 'top-tier' and 'the best people around' and said that she was happily cracking jokes and goofing off with them between takes. Jurassic World Rebirth was shot in both Malta and Thailand, and Luna recounted her experiences visiting those places. It wasn't just a vacation either, as the crew often had to deal with challenging weather conditions such as the monsoon season and all the rainfall. When the Today hosts brought up the fact that Luna had trained in Muay Thai boxing, she pointed out that the practice had strong traditional and spiritual roots in Thailand, with each lesson feeling like a ceremony. She then pointed out that she actually took these boxing lessons in the jungle, and her trainers had an interesting solution on how to deal with snakes. According to her, they almost offhandedly mentioned that the car doors were left open, so in case an anaconda or any sort of dangerous snake came, she could just run into the car and shut herself in. Luna showed faith in her co-star, Audrina Miranda The interview closed with the hosts asking her about her relationship with Audrina Miranda, who plays her little sister in the film. Given that Luna herself got her start as a child actor, she said that she was encouraging to Audrina and told her: 'You would not have this opportunity if you weren't ready to have it.' The conversation ended with the Today hosts introducing Luna's mother, who was there to watch her daughter promote the next big chapter in her career. Aside from her film and television career, Luna Blaise has also dabbled in music, with her releasing "Over You" as a single in 2017 and "Secrets" in 2018.

Eddie Huang is doing a Chinese-meets-Greek restaurant pop-up at NYC's The Flower Shop
Eddie Huang has come a long way from hawking Chairman Bao buns at the beloved Baohaus. Since his days cheffing in the Lower East Side, Huang's long resume lists hosting duties on the Cooking Channel, MTV and Vice, a documentarian, a producer and a best-selling author of two books, one of which spawned the ABC series, 'Fresh Off the Boat.' But it seems as thought the restaurant world truly never left him, as the multi-hyphenated talent is returning to lower Manhattan for a summer-long residency. Starting June 11, Huang will be taking over the kitchen of The Flower Shop, only a ten-minute walk from his former haunt. Named Gazebo, the residency was inspired by Huang's experimentations cooking traditional Chinese dishes in olive oil sourced from his wife's family's field in Greece. On his Substack, Canal Street Dreams, Huang spoke about how this simple swap created an entirely new profile. 'At home, I use the olive oil from Natashia's family field in Greece to reimagine Chinese food that's usually made with high heat oils,' said Huang. 'By simply changing the way I apply heat due to the character of olive oil, it's completely changed my cooking and it comes out tasting like Chinese food from a blue zone.' Huang's personal and worldwide culinary influences come through with small plates of cherrystone clams with pancetta noodles to a scallop ceviche dish with Marcona almonds that reflects his time with the seafood legend of Lima, chef Javier Wong. Large plates explore the cuisines even further as his red cooked pork stars Iberian pancetta and the chopped chili fluke is made with his wife's blend of oil, named, 'Natashia's sizzling oil.' Dessert finishes with a griddled Kossar's chocolate babka with ice cream. The pop-up will run on select dates from June until September. The first round will start this month on June 11 to June 13, followed by July 9 to July 11, August 6 to August 8 and September 10 to September 12. Dinner is $80 per person, which includes your choice of small plate, a large plate and dessert. Reserve your table here.

Ali Wong to direct new Netflix special
Ali Wong is lending her comedic talents to Netflix once again, but she's returning to a behind-the-camera role. The Pacific Heights native will direct Taiwanese American comedian Sheng Wang's next stand-up special on the streaming platform, according to Variety, which first reported the news. Set for release in 2026, the hour-long program is scheduled to be filmed at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 8. Both Wong and Wang will executive produce alongside John Irwin, whose credits include 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' and 'MADtv.' Wang, who grew up in Texas, is best known for his work as a writer on the ABC sitcom ' Fresh Off the Boat,' though he got his start practicing his material in San Francisco and New York City in the early 2000s. His 2022 Netflix special, 'Sweet & Juicy,' was also directed by Wong. The award-winning comic and actress has starred in a number of Netflix programs herself, and most recently earned a Golden Globe for her stand-up special ' Single Lady,' released last October. While accepting the award at the ceremony in January, she shouted out San Francisco's Punch Line Comedy Club for helping her get started in the industry. Wong returned to Punch Line in March for a string of 'Ali Wong: Work in Progress' shows, and brought along fellow comedian Bill Hader, who she has been dating since 2023. The two were spotted at the newly reopened Vietnamese restaurant Turtle Tower in the Financial District. A loyal fan of the establishment, she previously mentioned that the restaurant's chicken pho was one of her top four noodle soups of all time during an appearance on the talk show 'Hot Ones.' Though she now resides in Los Angeles, Wong frequently travels back up the coast to perform in the Bay Area, and even filmed part of her 2019 rom-com, ' Always Be My Maybe,' starring opposite 'Fresh Off the Boat' star Randall Park, in San Francisco.
