Kyle Schwarber homers for 1,000th hit, exchanges milestone ball for autograph
Kyle Schwarber recorded his 1,000th career hit in the Philadelphia Phillies' 12-5 victory over the New York Yankees on Friday. Schwarber's milestone hit was a two-run home run that tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning. It was his 35th home run of the season. A Phillies fan, who was attending the game with his friends, caught Schwarber's 1,000th hit and the group was seen hugging after the catch. "You show up to the field every single day trying to get a win at the end of the day. I think our fans kind of latch onto that," Schwarber said. "It's been fantastic these last three-and-a-half, four years now, the support that we get from our fans. It means a lot to me that they attach themselves onto our team, myself, whatever it is. We can feel that support, and yeah, I always appreciate it.' Kyle Schwarber's 1,000th career hit is a no-doubt homer! #FridayNightBaseball It was the first of two two-run home runs in the game for Schwarber. The second one came in the top of the eighth inning and helped put the game out of reach for the Yankees. Schwarber brought Trea Turner in to score both times. Kyle Schwarber gets milestone ball back from fans Schwarber met with the fan who got the ball and their friends after the game. The fan returned the ball and Schwarber signed two baseballs for them. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Scott Lauber, Schwarber had asked if the fans wanted him to sign a third ball, but all the fans asked for in return was for him to re-sign with the team. Schwarber shared a laugh with the trio of fans before getting ahold of a third ball to sign. He's in the last year of his contract and will become a free agent after the season.

Apple TV announcers slammed for Yankees-Phillies game commentary: 'Radio is better...'
The announcers on Apple TV's broadcast of the game between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday were slammed for their allegedly flawed commentary. For Friday's MLB game at Yankee Stadium in New York, Wayne Randazzo was the play-by-play, Dontrelle Willis is the analyst, and Heidi Watney is the dugout reporter. Representational image.(Unsplash) However, fans were clearly not happy with how they called the games. "apple tv broadcast saying jt is 'one of the best framing catchers in baseball' sure bro," one user wrote. 'Apple TV baseball is an affront to god but you can now listen to local radio instead of their awful announcers,' said another. 'Apple TV just said JT is 'one of the best pitch framers in baseball' how do these guys have a job,' wrote one. 'Apple TV announcers are sooooo baaaaaad. How?! How can you not hire 2 other people than this? These retards watch 1 game a week and its the one they fumble all night,' wrote another. 'I can't stand the mlb announcers on Apple TV,' wrote one. 'I guess the Apple TV guys don't actually watch the Phillies,' said another. Apple TV currently holds exclusive 'Friday Night Baseball' rights—a weekly doubleheader of MLB games (two games every Friday during the regular season) across the US and in Canada, UK, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico and South Korea. The deal, signed in March 2022, runs through seven seasons. It is valued at roughly $85 million per year (totaling about $595 million), till 2028.

Apple (AAPL) Leads the Race to Acquire U.S. Formula 1 Rights with $150M Bid
Apple (AAPL) is leading the race to secure the exclusive U.S. streaming rights for Formula 1 in 2026, having offered about $150 million per year. This development, initially reported by Business Insider, suggests that the iPhone maker is set to outbid the current rights holder, ESPN. The current deal with Disney's (DIS) ESPN is set to conclude following the present racing season. The network had encouraged F1 to explore other options after its exclusive negotiation window expired at the end of 2024. It must be noted that ESPN, which pays nearly $90 million per year for the rights, is not expected to match or exceed Apple's offer. Securing a deal with AAPL, which operates the Apple TV+ streaming service, would guarantee F1 a major financial gain. However, such a move carries the risk of potentially limiting the sport's overall viewership exposure compared to the broader reach offered by a traditional major network like ESPN. Why Does Apple Want F1 Rights? Apple's bid comes after its recent F1-themed movie starring Brad Pitt became its biggest box office hit, grossing over $300 million globally. With growing U.S. interest in Formula 1, Apple sees it as an opportunity to expand its Apple TV+ sports portfolio, which already includes Major League Soccer and MLB's Friday Night Baseball. While AAPL has not confirmed how it will package F1 content, it's likely to be offered as a standalone subscription or bundled with Apple TV+. Is Apple a Buy, Sell, or Hold? Turning to Wall Street, AAPL stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 16 Buys, 10 Holds, and one Sell assigned in the last three months. At $228.27, the average Apple stock price target implies an 8.1% upside potential.
