Lisa Kudrow's ‘The Comeback' is finally coming back
Two decades after 'The Comeback' premiered on HBO, the Lisa Kudrow-led comedy is returning for one last season. The mockumentary show, created by Kudrow and 'Sex and the City' executive producer Michael Patrick King, debuted in 2005 to lukewarm reception. Though the series was canceled after its initial 13-week run, it returned again in 2014 for a surprise second season. It's since gained a cult-like following and critical acclaim. Now, 'The Comeback' is staging another comeback, with the third and final season expected in 2026. 'The Comeback' follows washed-up sitcom star Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) as she documents her return to the spotlight on a reality show aptly called 'The Comeback.' While little has been revealed about the upcoming season, the teaser video suggests Cherish is working on another 'new show' — one she doesn't seem too excited about. 'Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape,' King and Kudrow said in a joint statement. 'Neither of us are surprised she did.' 'No matter what the industry throws at her, Valerie Cherish is a survivor,' said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of comedy programming at HBO and Max. 'On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO and we can't wait to see that.' Kudrow's potrayal of Cherish has earned her two Emmy nominations for lead actress in a comedy series. Earlier this year, the 'Friends' star also made Variety's list of the best television performances of the 21st century, coming in at No. 4. Alongside Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman and Damian Young will be returning to the series. Notably absent is Robert Michael Morris, who played Cherish's hairdresser, Mickey Deane, and died in 2017.

Maggie Wheeler on filming 'Friends,' 'Everybody Loves Raymond' roles in '90s heyday
Oh. My. God. Maggie Wheeler was pulling double duty on two of the biggest sitcoms of the '90s. The actress, 63, looked back on playing Janice in 'Friends' while guest-starring as Linda Gruenfelder in 'Everybody Loves Raymond' while attending an event for the latter show at The Paley Museum in New York City on June 16. Ray Romano (Ray Barone), Patricia Heaton (Debra Barone) and series creator Phil Rosenthal were also present. Wheeler appeared as Janice, Chandler Bing's (played by the late Matthew Perry) longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend, across all 10 seasons of 'Friends,' which aired from 1994 to 2004. CBS Her other roles have included Marva Kulp, Jr. in the 1998 remake of 'The Parent Trap' and Anita Warrell in the ABC sitcom 'Ellen.' Advertisement 'I had a smile that I couldn't wipe off my face during that era because I was working with such great comedians, such great writers, having a chance to play these women who I love,' Wheeler said. 'To be able to bring such extraordinary writing to life — that is the best gift an actor can have,' she added. 'I got to do it in two places at the same time. I'm very lucky.' 8 Wheeler is also known for her role as Marva Kulp, Jr. in the 1998 remake of 'The Parent Trap.' ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection Regarding filming in front of a live studio audience for both series, Wheeler described the experience as a 'living organism.' Advertisement 'I think that's one of the things that makes these sitcoms feel so wonderful and be so much fun: the theatrical sort of experience that you have with the audience,' she said. 'You know when a joke works, you know when it doesn't, and everyone gets to hover around and make changes in the moment.' 'It's a really alive process, and one that I really loved,' she concluded. 8 Wheeler as Janice and David Schwimmer as Ross Geller in 'Friends.' ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection On 'Friends,' though, that experience came with a twist: Wheeler was kept out of sight so Janice's appearances would come as a shock to the in-studio audiences. 'I wasn't allowed to even really wander around craft services,' she said during the April 14 episode of 'Still Here Hollywood' with Steve Kmetko. 'They made me stay in my dressing room.' Wheeler explained that she would sneak down to set and hide behind a black scrim, completely blocked from the audience's view until her entrance. 8 Wheeler was kept out of the in-studio audience's sight until her entrances as Janice. ©NBC/Courtesy Everett Collection Often met with gasps and laughter from the audience, she said Janice's appearances were 'a little bit of a rockstar feeling.' She compared it to how audiences would respond to Kramer's (Michael Richards) entrances on 'Seinfeld.' 'I was on the stage, and my husband was with my baby,' she told People in June. Wheeler shares daughters Juno and Gemma with her husband, Daniel Borden. 'Everybody Loves Raymond' ran for nine seasons on CBS from 1996 to 2005. At The Paley Museum, Romano and Heaton shut down rumors of a possible revival. 'The obvious is Peter [Boyle] and Doris [Roberts] and one of the kids — they're no longer with us,' Romano, 66, told The Post. 'We're all heartbroken. They're a big part of the show, the dynamic.' 'Will there be a reunion? That we would love to do,' he said. 'So I think we're considering and working on that happening.'

Jennifer Aniston Reveals the 1 Food Her Mom Wouldn't Allow Her to Eat
Jennifer Aniston is reflecting on how her late mother, Nancy Dow, shaped her approach to food and wellness. 'I was never allowed to have a sugary piece of anything, and I was also served spelt bread,' Aniston, 56, told People, noting that she 'grew up in one of those holistic households.' As a child, she added, Dow 'drilled' into her the importance of staying hydrated. 'I've been so hyper aware of people who don't drink water now because I've always been such a water drinker,' she said in the interview. 'I have girlfriends that just can't drink water, they just don't like the taste of it. It's like, 'It's water. It's just water,' and I constantly say, 'You have to hydrate. You must hydrate.' The 'Friends' star was born and raised in New York by Dow and Greek-born actor John Aniston. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1980, when Aniston was 9. Dow died in 2016 at the age of 79, and John Aniston passed away 2022 at 89. In a January conversation with Aniston described her philosophy on eating as being balanced and flexible. 'I do 80/20. I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don't deprive myself,' she said. Most of the time, the Emmy winner sticks to nutrient-dense meals, allowing herself more freedom with food about 20% of the time. Calling her diet 'boring,' she shared that it typically includes plenty of protein, vegetables and salads. Aniston also favors subtle yet thoughtful adjustments to her dishes, such as forgoing extra salt and using salad dressing sparingly, and has grown to appreciate 'the power of seasonings' and the brightness of vinegar to elevate flavor. 'Stuff like that will create a taste that is so delicious, where you're not just dousing everything with salt and butter or olive oil to make it taste good,' she explained. On those 20% days, she might splurge on a cheeseburger, fries or Mexican food. Pasta and pizza also make occasional appearances. 'All that stuff that's savory,' she said. "I'm not a sweets person. I don't go for ice cream or cakes. I definitely have a savory tooth.' This article was originally published on

Jennifer Aniston shares surprising career goal, one character she wants to revisit
Washington [US], June 22 (ANI): After nearly four decades in Hollywood, Jennifer Aniston is not slowing down. The 56-year-old actress recently revealed that despite her extensive career, she still hopes to achieve one major goal, making her Broadway debut. In an interview with People magazine, the 'Friends' star shared, "I definitely want to do a Broadway play. That's on my bucket list." The actress, who has garnered numerous accolades including an Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award, elaborated on the challenge: "It's finding the time and the right material, but I absolutely have to do a play on Broadway." For Aniston, who grew up surrounded by the world of entertainment, her father, John Aniston, was an actor, and her mother, Nancy Dow, was also involved in the industry, the aspiration to perform on the stage has been long-standing. She recalled her early experiences, which included performing in Off-Broadway productions before her big break in Hollywood. Despite her massive success on the small and big screens, with iconic roles in shows like 'Friends' and films such as 'Marley & Me' and 'We're the Millers', Aniston is eager to step outside her comfort zone. "The idea of performing in front of a live audience is something I've always wanted to experience," she said, as quoted by People magazine. The actress' latest project is 'The Morning Show', an Apple TV plus series where she stars alongside Reese Witherspoon and Billy Crudup. As a producer on the show, Aniston is also gearing up for the release of its fourth season, scheduled for later this year. In addition to her role on 'The Morning Show', Aniston has several upcoming projects, including the films 'Hail Mary' and a currently untitled project directed by Sophie Goodhart. Looking back at her extensive career, Aniston also expressed interest in revisiting a fan-favourite role. The actress revealed that she would be open to reprising her role in the 'Horrible Bosses' films. The 2011 comedy and its 2014 sequel featured Aniston as the flirtatious dentist, Dr Julia Harris. "I was just talking about this the other day," Aniston said, referring to a recent conversation with co-stars Jason Bateman and Charlie Day. "We all think it would be super fun to revisit those characters. The characters are hilarious, and we need comedy," she said, adding, "I personally think comedy is a necessity, and I think it would be so much fun to see where those crazy cats are today." Fans of the 'Horrible Bosses' franchise have long speculated about a potential third instalment, and with Aniston's enthusiasm about the idea, it seems there may still be hope for the beloved comedic trio's return. Meanwhile, Aniston is awaiting the release of 'The Morning Show' season 4, which is set to debut on Apple TV plus on September 17. (ANI)
