Netflix's Selling Sunset lands season 9 release date as A-lister's sister joins cast

The Oppenheim Group's glamorous real estate agents are finally returning to Netflix. After months of anticipation, Netflix has finally confirmed Selling Sunset season nine's release date. The eighth season premiered back in September, and with it came explosive drama that viewers have grown to expect from the hit reality show. ‌ Per the synopsis, Selling Sunset follows seven of Los Angeles' most successful female realtors all working for the top agency in the Hollywood Hills and the Sunset Strip. ‌ The official description teases: "They work hard and play harder, as they compete with the cutthroat LA market and each other. ‌ "These ladies will do what it takes to make it to the top of their game, all while trying to keep their personal lives intact." So when can viewers expect to see more drama from the sunset crew? Selling Sunset Season 9 release date ‌ Selling Sunset season nine began filming shortly after the events of season eight, which saw everything from fallouts among the cast to a dog funeral. The new series will premiere on Netflix on Tuesday, October 29. If this instalment is anything like the previous eight, all episodes will be available to binge watch on the same day. Selling Sunset Season 9 new and returning cast ‌ The forthcoming season sees the return of Chrishell Stause, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Alaina Gold, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Bre Tiesi, and Jason and Brett Oppenheim, the brokers behind the agency. Joining them is newcomer Sandra Vergara, who you may recognise as A-lister Sofia Vergara's adoptive sister. Like her sibling, Sandra is an actress with credits including 2011 horror film, Fright Night, which features Colin Farrell and David Tennant. Ahead of the new series, the Colombian star explained her decision to join the Oppenheim Group agents. ‌ "The O Group felt like the perfect fit: sharp, high energy, and full of people who are at the top of their game," she told Tudum. She went on to tease: "Season 9 definitely brings some unexpected twists. There are some jaw-dropping moments you won't see coming." As for her selling skills, Sandra has "always had an eye for design and a love for people". Therefore, "combining that in real estate just clicked."

Lake Charles Community Band: Two summer shows that ask for audience participation

T he Lake Charles Community Band is bringing Lake Charles two summer shows that will let guests experience spooky spectacles and vibrant sounds. The Summer Concert Series has two shows lined up. The first performance is at 6 p.m. Monday at the Rosa Heart Theater in the Lake Charles Event Center, 900 Lakeshore Dr. The second at 6 p.m. on June 23 at Tritico Theater at McNeese State University. Each concert is themed and encourages audience interaction and creative participation, said Jeremi Edwards, assistant professor of music theory and composition at McNeese. Attendees are invited to dress to theme and become 'active contributors to the atmosphere and spirit of the performance.' 'When people are invited to contribute to the environment through costumes, colors or shared themes, they're more invested in the experience,' he explained. 'It fosters a sense of community, creativity and belonging. Families, students and music lovers of all ages get to have fun, express themselves, and feel like part of something larger.' This playful aspect of the concerts breaks down the structures of traditional concert settings, inviting new audiences into concert culture. On Monday, audiences can prepare for 'Fright Night!' The community band used to play Halloween concerts during each October, but haven't been able to in recent years. This concert aims to correct that, Edwards said. 'We all have heard of Christmas in July, well how about Halloween in June?' he said. For 'Fright Night,' audience members should put on their favorite Halloween costumes to help transform the performance into a spirited celebration. The program will include songs like 'Witches Dance,' 'A Rockin' Halloween,' 'Thriller' and selections from the Broadway musical 'Wicked.' The second concert later in the month was inspired by the rainbow, Edwards said. For the 'Color Pallette' performance, guests should dress in their 'boldest, most vibrant outfits' to turn Tritico Theater into a colorful expanse. Edwards' vision for the performance is for the audience and performers to work together to create a 'living, breathing work of art.' 'Just as the music explores different tones, moods and styles, the visual presence of a colorfully dressed audience enhances the concert's energy and connection to its theme,' he said. 'Just as colors can evoke feelings, memories and moods, so too can music. Through an eclectic and energetic program, this concert will paint a sonic landscape that highlights how composers use tone, rhythm, and orchestration to bring vivid images and emotions to life.' Each song will reflect a color. From 'The Pink Panther' to 'Red Rock Mountain' to 'Greenwillow Portrait,' audiences can prepare for a kaleidoscopic experience. During 'Color Pallette,' the Lake Charles Community Band will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to a member of the ensemble who has demonstrated commitment, passion and service throughout the years, he said. While the individual who will receive the award is a surprise, Edwards said confidently 'their contributions have helped sustain the spirit and tradition of the Lake Charles Community Band.' 'Beyond their musicianship, they have served as a mentor, a motivator, and a true ambassador for the arts in Southwest Louisiana,' he added. 'We are proud to honor their legacy, not just for their talent, but for the example they have set in demonstrating how music can unite people, uplift a community, and leave a lasting mark.'

'Best vampire movie in history' added to Netflix to celebrate 40th anniversary

A film which has been dubbed an 'underrated classic' and a 'horror masterpiece' has been added to Netflix ahead of its 40th anniversary later this summer. The flick, which boasts 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, has won fans over with its campy blend of horror and comedy, fine acting performances and 'deliciously gory' practical effects. Written and directed by Tom Holland (no, not that one), Fright Night follows Charley Brewster (William Ragsale), who's convinced that his reclusive new neighbour is a vampire – but no one believes the horror film junkie. But after strange events begin to occur, Charlie has no choice but to turn to the only person who could possibly help: washed-up television vampire killer Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall). Chris Sarandon stars as the neighbour/vampire, Jerry Dandrige. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. 'If you love being scared this could be the night of your life,' teases the original trailer for this 1985 film, which was popular enough to receive a 2011 remake with Colin Farrell as the charismatic vampire, David Tennant, Toni Collette and the late Anton Yelchin as Charley Brewster. But this first version received praise upon its release, ending the year as the second-highest grossing horror film on over $24.9million (£18.45m), only behind A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. 'Not just an eighties horror classic, but a horror masterpiece,' decreed Cinema Crazed in its review, while critic Keith Garlington added: 'I wholeheartedly believe Fright Night to be an underrated classic…It's driven by a fabulous collection of characters, an unabashedly fun story, some deliciously gory effects, and a steady seasoning of good humor.' 'For my money, Chris Sarandon makes the best vampire in movie history,' insisted Northwest Herald critic Jeffrey Westhoff at the time, while legendary film critic Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times: 'Fright Night is not a distinguished movie, but it has a lot of fun being undistinguished.' It also holds a special place in fans' hearts, 40 years on – and it's something that Netflix subscribers in the UK can now revisit – or discover – after Fright Night was added to the streaming platform last week. 'I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it a million years ago and still love watching it every time. One of my ALL-TIME favourites,' enthused Justin K in his audience review on Rotten Tomatoes. 'Best vampire movie of all time,' insisted Alex D, while Nick O wrote: 'A high school monster kid and a local horror host team up to take on a 1000 year old bloodsucker…is there a cooler vampire flick out there?' 'Best movie ever,' shared Duh Sunnyday in a five-star review on Google. 'The makeup and effects were ahead of its [sic] time. They may look cheesy compared to today's standards but the acting, suspense, and story still hold up to the test of time. You can get lost in it. Truly a classic.' More Trending 'I can never get enough of this film,' praised Ihsan Tuncel, while David O'Brien called Fright Night 'an absolute joy from start to finish' which 'oozes atmosphere'. 'A beautiful-looking tongue in cheek 80s vampire flick with stunning special effects and a fantastic cast,' he added. Fright Night is streaming on Netflix in the UK now. Got a story?
