Fans say same thing as Cork meltdown hands All-Ireland to Tipp

With a six-point lead heading into half-time of the All-Ireland final, Cork looked all but a certainty to lift the Liam McCarthy on Sunday. However, viewers were left wondering what they were witnessing as Tipp managed to score a goal and five points in the second half before Cork could score a single point. By the fifty-fifth minute, Cork had a man sent off and were down by seven. It was almost hard to comprehend. 2025 GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final, Croke Park, Dublin 20/7/2025 Tipperary's Darragh McCarthy scores a goal Pic: INPHO/Laszlo Geczo Tipperary have now scored 2-8 to Cork's 1 point with 20 minutes gone in the second half. Incredible turn of events 😳 #AllIreland — Ian O Connell (@ianoconnell00) July 20, 2025 — Michael Coughlan (@MikeRockfield) July 20, 2025 In the sixtieth minute, a flick from Tipp forward John McGrath saw the Premier County score their third goal of the second half. They were 12 points up with 10 minutes to go and favourites Cork were dead and buried. The final score was a resounding 3-27 to Tipp vs Cork's 1-18 – a winning margin of 15 points. Cork managed a total of two points in the second half. As the Rebels' unravelling unfolded, fans took to social media in their droves, with most wondering what had happened to the Munster champions at half-time. But this was not the second half I expected.' 'This is some collapse from Cork,' another said. 'A collapse Mayo would be proud of.' 'Cork are the GAA version of Arsenal,' another fan teased. 2025 GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final, Croke Park, Dublin 20/7/2025 Cork vs Tipperary Tipperary's John McGrath scores a goal ©INPHO/Bryan Keane After the game, the Rebels could be seen tumbling to the pitch in misery as they presumably joined in the puzzling as to how their collective collapse had taken place. 'It's farcical. It's like we've been switched off,' a Cork fan summed up. 'It's like Tipp is playing my son's under 10 side.' It's farcical. It's like we've been switched off. It's like Tipp is playing my son's under 10 side.#AllIreland — Finbarr O'Sullivan (@handsomepostie) July 20, 2025 Cork were bidding to end a 20-year wait without an All-Ireland win, having last won in 2005. Their previous longest gap was 16 years between 1903 and 1919. After that second-half performance, it's hard to imagine how they recover. So strange how Cork started so brightly and yet faded completely after the break. Tipperary have been superb. But this was not the second half I expected. #allireland #gaa #corkvtipp — Neil Morrow (@mrneilmorrow) July 20, 2025 Cork have thrown away their best chance of winning Liam McCarthy since 05. Motoring along nicely at half time only to absolutely implode in the 2nd half. It's just incredible stuff. Fair play to Tipp. They were like animals today. #AllIreland — Thomas O'Mahony (@OMathuna89) July 20, 2025
