MANAMA, July 13: Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain, Sheikh Thamer Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, lauded the achievements of Kuwait's national swimming team following its impressive showing at the 29th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Swimming Championship, which concluded in Manama. During a reception for the Kuwaiti delegation, Sheikh Thamer praised the athletes for their honorable performance, emphasizing that their efforts reflect the pride and strong spirit of Kuwaiti youth in regional and international sporting events. He commended both the swimmers and the administrative and technical teams for their dedication, noting that their results embody positive competition, athletic excellence, and the values of Kuwaiti sportsmanship. 'This achievement demonstrates the Kuwait Swimming Federation's commitment to nurturing national talent and preparing players to compete at the highest levels,' Sheikh Thamer stated. The Kuwaiti team delivered an outstanding performance at the two-day championship, hosted in Bahrain on Friday and Saturday, winning a total of 21 medals—seven gold, 11 silver, and three bronze—solidifying Kuwait's position as a leading force in Gulf swimming.

Kuwait's swimming team heads to Bahrain for the GCC Championship
KUWAIT CITY, July 10: The Kuwaiti national swimming team departed for Bahrain yesterday to take part in the 29th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Swimming Championship set to take place over two days—today and tomorrow. The delegation, led by Ali Al-Enezi, includes a group of talented young swimmers who have undergone intensive training as part of their preparation for this key regional event, which is regarded as one of the most significant competitions in Gulf swimming. The Technical Committee of the Kuwait Aquatics Federation affirmed that this participation is a key component of the team's broader development strategy, designed to sharpen athletes' skills and elevate their readiness for upcoming continental and international tournaments. The committee also expressed high hopes for strong performances that showcase the progress of Kuwaiti swimming, progress made possible through the ongoing support of the Public Authority for Sports and the Federation's Board of Directors, chaired by Sheikh Khaled Al-Badr.
