Among the key measures: a one-off RM100 cash aid for adults, the doubling of Rahmah sales allocation, postponed toll hikes, targeted RON95 petrol subsidies, lower electricity bills and increased minimum wages. The government also pledged to eradicate hardcore poverty, improve healthcare staffing and declared Sept 15 as an additional public holiday to mark Malaysia Day. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Bernama FILE PIX Here are the key takeaway from Anwar's announcement: Financial Assistance: A one-off RM100 payment through MyKad for every adult citizen aged 18 and above under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) program, starting Aug 31, 2025. This can be spent on basic necessities at over 4,100 stores until Dec 31, 2025. This assistance is per individual, meaning a household with multiple adults can receive more (e.g: RM400 for a couple with two adult children). Increased overall allocation for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and SARA to RM15 billion for 2025, the highest in history. Increased cash assistance under the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) to RM2.9 billion, which includes higher monthly welfare aid for the elderly and children from poor families. Cost of Living Relief: Minimum Wage Increase: The minimum wage increased to RM1,700 from RM1,500, effective Feb 1, 2025 and fully enforced by Aug 1, 2025. Living Wage for GLIC/GLC Employees: Companies linked to the government (GLIC and GLC) ensure 153,000 workers receive a living wage of at least RM3,100 per month. Paddy Farmers' Support: The purchase floor price for paddy increased to RM1,500 (2025) and the Paddy Price Subsidy Scheme increased to RM500 (2023). Rubber Smallholders' Support: The Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) increased to RM3.00 (2024). Expanded Rahmah Madani Sales: The allocation for "Jualan Rahmah Madani 2025" has doubled to RM600 million, allowing for more frequent sales, wider coverage (all 600 state constituencies) and a greater variety of goods for citizens. Toll Rate Freeze: The government will bear over RM500 million to postpone scheduled toll rate increases for 10 highways this year, allowing citizens to continue paying the same toll rates. Reduced RON95 Petrol Price: Once the targeted RON95 petrol subsidy is implemented, Malaysian citizens will enjoy a lower price of RM1.99 per liter, benefiting approximately 18 million car drivers and motorcyclists. Foreigners will pay the market price. Lower Electricity Bills: 85 per cent of domestic electricity consumers experienced a decrease in their electricity bills for July 2025 usage compared to the first half of 2025, with reductions of up to 14 per cent. Employment and Healthcare: Unemployment has decreased to 3.0 per cent (May 2025), the lowest in over a decade. Over 250,000 new jobs were created in 2023 and 2024. The Health Ministry will expedite efforts to fill over 4,352 contract doctor positions in health facilities nationwide by the end of 2025, aiming to provide better healthcare services. Poverty Eradication: Nearly 150,000 hardcore poor households from 2023 have moved out of the hardcore poor category by the end of 2024. The "Sejahtera Madani" initiative will be launched to continue assisting hardcore poor and poor groups through government and corporate sector collaboration. Community Development and Education: "Sejati Madani" has channelled up to RM100,000 to communities for income-generating economic activities, leading to over 8,600 community economic activities in villages. The "Kampung Angkat Madani" (Adopted Village Madani) programme has expanded from 40 to 200 villages this year, benefiting community-level citizens. The "Sekolah Angkat Madani" (Adopted School Madani) initiative aims to have 1,000 adopted schools by the end of the year, ensuring the best education for children. Public Holiday: Sept 15, 2025 (Monday), has been declared an additional public holiday in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations, to foster unity and encourage family time and domestic tourism.

Mujin Establishes Global Executive Team to Accelerate Expansion of MujinOS

TOKYO & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mujin, the pioneer of intelligent robotics, today announced the establishment of its Global Leadership Cabinet (GLC) to unify its operations worldwide and drive the commercial expansion of its flagship platform, MujinOS. The GLC will align technology, product, sales, and governance functions across all regions, positioning the company for its next phase of growth and long-term strategic plans. Mujin forms Global Leadership Cabinet to unify operations and scale adoption of its intelligent robotics platform, MujinOS. The new executive team will align product, technology, and go-to-market functions to accelerate global growth. At the heart of MujinOS is a real-time digital twin, a continuously updating model of a robotics system's physical environment, forming the core of machine intelligence. This no-code technology allows robots to plan and adapt in real-time without the need to directly program behaviors. By integrating motion planning, perception, and control into a single intelligent platform, MujinOS gives robots the ability to respond dynamically to real-world variability, enabling a new level of performance, reliability, and autonomy across a wide range of applications. This transformative architecture has earned Mujin the trust of Fortune 100 customers, top system integrators, and leading robot OEMs, many of whom are incorporating MujinOS into their growth strategies. Today, more than a thousand robotic systems across logistics and manufacturing environments around the world are powered by MujinOS. 'Mujin has always operated at the frontier of automation,' said Ross Diankov, Mujin co-Founder. 'We've shown that intelligence can be built directly into machines, and we're proving that this approach can scale across the world's most demanding industries. Now it's time to make MujinOS the global standard.' Mujin is a global company with offices in four countries, leading the charge in advanced warehouse automation and delivering products powering end-to-end robotics solutions. In Japan, Mujin leads through a consulting-driven approach to automation, pioneering some of the most advanced robotic deployments in the world across piece picking, bin picking, depalletizing, and warehouse-level orchestration. The GLC will unify global strategy and execution, ensuring Mujin's product development and commercialization efforts remain tightly aligned and supported by centralized governance across all markets. As part of this initiative, Mujin will implement global KPIs and establish new structures for cross-regional collaboration. 'To bring intelligent automation to every corner of the world, we need more than just groundbreaking technology; we need structure, clarity, and global alignment,' said Issei Takino, Mujin co-Founder. 'The formation of the GLC ensures that every function across Mujin is moving in sync, focused on accessibility, growth, and long-term partnerships with our customers.' Mujin was founded on a shared belief that robotics needed a new kind of platform, one that could make autonomy real, scalable, and accessible. That vision, developed by Ross Diankov and Issei Takino, continues to drive the company forward as it enters its next phase of global growth. Now, with this new structure in place, the same core leadership is joined by a team of experts whose strengths are tightly aligned with Mujin's mission. The formation of the Global Leadership Cabinet marks the next stage in Mujin's evolution as the company scaling intelligent robotics for the real world. With a unified structure driving product, technology, and commercialization forward, Mujin is accelerating global sales, strengthening partnerships, attracting world-class talent, and advancing the maturity of its MujinOS platform. This is the foundation not just for growth, but for defining the next generation of industrial automation. 'The world is watching Mujin, and what we do next will shape the future of automation,' Diankov added. 'Our mission is simple: put intelligent robotics within reach for every integrator, every warehouse, and every factory on Earth—and we now have the team and structure to make that happen.' About Mujin Mujin develops intelligent robotics systems that enable industrial robots to perform complex tasks with speed, reliability, and flexibility. Its core platform, MujinOS, eliminates the need for teaching or coding by empowering robots with real-time decision-making capabilities powered by a continuously updating digital twin. Mercedes GLC 400 4MATIC EV teased ahead of launch. Here's what to expect

Check Offers Mercedes-Benz is stepping up its electric vehicle push with the upcoming launch of the all-electric GLC. Set to break cover at the 2025 Munich Auto Show, the EV SUV is currently undergoing road tests — and it's already revealing some telling details. Unlike past models that wore standalone EQ branding, this SUV positioned itself as an electric version of the existing combustion GLC, not a radical departure. Also Read : Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line launched at ₹ 1.4 crore Fast charging and flexible infrastructure One of the GLC EV's standout capabilities is its high-speed charging. The vehicle is claimed to add up to 260 km of range in 10 minutes, enabled by a peak charging rate above 320 kW. That's not only fast by current standards, but also aimed at easing real-world EV usability concerns. Adding to its versatility is an integrated converter that allows the 800V architecture to charge from 400V public stations — a practical advantage the newer CLA EV initially lacked. Mercedes seems to be learning from its own rollout missteps and refining the approach as its EV lineup matures. Practical design and real-world usability While Mercedes is keeping performance figures under wraps for now, CEO Ola Kallenius hinted at aggressive acceleration reminiscent of the AMG GT, suggesting the GLC EV may be quicker than expected for its segment. However, it's not all about speed. The GLC 400 4MATIC will also offer a towing capacity of 2,400 kg, beating out rivals like the Porsche Macan Electric. That makes it one of the few electric SUVs balancing performance with proper load-carrying muscle. Also watch: Mercedes Benz GLC 2023: First drive review More room inside, optional ride tech Interior space is expected to improve with a longer wheelbase and larger boot than the ICE-powered GLC. A small frunk adds extra utility. Mercedes also confirms that features like air suspension and rear-axle steering will be available via an optional package, positioning the GLC for a comfortable yet agile driving experience. Styling with a retro touch Interestingly, the GLC EV won't go for futuristic minimalism. Mercedes hints at a front-end design inspired by classic models like the 300SEL 6.3 — especially in the grille's proportions. It's a subtle nod to the past, wrapped in tomorrow's tech. As the Munich debut approaches, the electric GLC appears to be shaping up not as a radical concept, but as a mature, usable and practical EV aimed squarely at the mainstream premium SUV market. Urgent recall notice for certain Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz models, consumers urged to check their vehicles

Motorists are urged to check their vehicles following urgent recalls of certain Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz models due to serious safety defects. Image: Armand Hough / Independent Newspapers Motorists are urged to check their vehicles following a recall of several models of Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz due to serious safety defects. The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has issued a warning to motorists, as these defects could increase the risk of injury or accidents. Range Rover Evoque Recall Jaguar Land Rover Limited has recalled certain 2021 to 2024 models of the Range Rover Evoque, as well as some 2025 models, due to a defect in the passenger airbag. According to the supplier, the airbag may tear during deployment as a result of improper folding during the assembly process. 'A torn airbag may reduce occupant protection and increase the risk of injury in a crash. Additionally, a torn airbag could allow hot gases to escape, potentially causing burns to occupants,' the NCC said. Mercedes-Benz Recall Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz South Africa is recalling several 2023 models, including the SL (232), EQS (297), GLC (254), S-Class (223), and C-Class (206), due to a fault in the fuse box. The company notified the NCC that the fuse box might not have been reworked as intended, posing serious risks to vehicle functionality and safety. 'As a result, systems connected to the fuse might fail. The vehicle might lose power without prior warning, restraint functions or the instrument cluster might be impaired, increasing the risk of an accident,' the NCC said. 'In addition, the risk of a thermal event cannot be ruled out.' Acting Commissioner of the NCC, Hardin Ratshisusu, urged all affected consumers to act immediately. 'Affected consumers are urged to immediately contact any nearest authorised dealership of these motor vehicles to have the defect repaired at no charge,' said Ratshisusu. The NCC is responsible for monitoring product recalls in South Africa and ensuring that suppliers notify both the regulator and consumers when potentially dangerous defects are identified. The Commission has advised motorists to visit the dealerships as soon as possible to avoid any harm or risk associated with the faulty components. Consumers can also visit the NCC website or contact the Commission for more details on the recall process and to verify if their vehicle is affected. Safety remains a top priority, and the NCC continues to encourage proactive cooperation from manufacturers and consumers alike. THE MERCURY
