Police carried out a dawn raid at a house in Astley Bridge this morning. The raid was as a result of information from members of the community concerned about drugs in the area. A spokesman for GMP Bolton said: "Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have executed a drugs warrant at a house in Astley Bridge this morning. "Following information from members of the community concerned about drug supply in the area, your local officers obtained a warrant from the court. "A 26-year-old man remains under investigation. "If you have information about criminality in your area, you can contact the independent charity, CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111." The raid is the latest to be carried out in Bolton to crackdown on drug dealing in the borough. Last month, police carried out a series of simultaneous dawn raids in the Farnworth area as part of an investigation drug gangs in the borough.

Police officers will be holding a community meeting tomorrow (Thursday, June 19) to speak about concerns local residents may have. The meeting will take place at Bolton Muslim Girls School on Swan Lane. Issues being discussed will include anti-social behaviour, traffic offences and drug dealing - and how they are being tackled in the community. A cannabis farm has been seized following a police raid in Bolton. Around 70 plants have been destroyed after officers carried out a warrant on Huntroyde Avenue, Tonge Moor this morning (Saturday). Police say the grow was split across two rooms. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
