Samsung announces the date of Galaxy Unpacked event for its new foldables
Last week, leakster Evan Blass said that Samsung would host its Galaxy Unpacked event for the unveiling of new foldables on July 9. Well, Blass' claim has turned out to be true, as Samsung has confirmed the July 9 date for the Galaxy Unpacked event. The event will be hosted in Brooklyn, New York, and will begin at 10AM ET. It will also be streamed live on Samsung's official website and YouTube channel. The Korean brand hasn't revealed how many devices it will unveil at Unpacked and simply stated that the "next-generation Galaxy devices are being reimagined around a new AI-powered interface, supported by breakthrough hardware built to unlock their full potential." The video teaser Samsung shared says "Ultra Unfolds" towards the end, which could lead one to believe that Samsung will introduce the folding Ultra at the Unpacked; however, rumors claim that's unlikely to happen. While Samsung didn't explicitly mention the names of the products it will introduce at the July 9 Unpacked event, rumors suggest that the brand will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch8 series. Major mobile brand to DELETE accounts in weeks unless users act now
IF you haven't used your Samsung account in a while, you should probably start now before the phone maker deletes it for good. The Korean phone giant is having a big clear out of its Galaxy user accounts this summer. 2 Samsung accounts are used to access apps on Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Store and all of Samsung's native apps, like Health and Galaxy Wearables, require an account to log in. This can be tied to a Google Account, which will not be affected by the shut down. However, they are often separate. If you haven't signed into your Samsung account in the past two years, the phone maker with deem it inactive. The company will delete inactive accounts on 31 July. For people who use their Samsung devices regularly, this shouldn't be a worry. It is difficult to operate a Samsung device without logging into your account. However, if you switched from Samsung to another mobile brand, you might want still want to keep your account in case you switch back. Alternatively, if you have a secondary account that you don't want to lose, then it's important to act now. If you've logged into your account at least once in the last 24 months, there should be no risk of removal. But it is a good idea to check and make sure your account doesn't get culled. Any accounts that are deemed inactive will be deleted, and it will be impossible to retrieve them. Save your Samsung account Simply log into your Samsung account before 31 July. This will mark the account as active to Samsung, and spare it from deletion. Galaxy users who haven't logged in for a while should receive an email from Samsung notifying them of the change. Though, as 9to5Google notes, that may prove ineffective if the email associated with the account is also inactive. Samsung – a brief history Here's what you need to know... Samsung schedules more Galaxy devices for One UI 7 updates
Samsung's confusing One UI 7 rollout is still happening, so if you're using a Galaxy phone as your daily driver and haven't received the update, chances are you're have to wait until next month. The South Korean company issued a One UI 7 roadmap back in April and promised to upgrade all eligible Galaxy phones and tablets by the end of June. Even though the rollout hit a snag due to some critical issues, it only took Samsung a few days to resume the delivery of the update, so the schedule wasn't affected at all. We've already reported about numerous Galaxy devices that received the One UI 7 update, but the truth is not everyone is getting the update at the same time. Many Samsung fans with new phones are still waiting for the update, while others with older models already enjoy the benefits of One UI 7 . It's strange and confusing at the same time that Samsung released recently another schedule for more Galaxy devices. Some of these phones and tablets mentioned in the document discovered by Samsung leaker Tarun Vats have already received the update in South Korea, and possibly other territories, but let's not forget that not everyone might have got it. One other thing it's worth highlighting, and that's the fact that the large majority of the Galaxy devices listed will receive the update in June. Samsung Galaxy A55 – June Samsung Galaxy A54 – June Samsung Galaxy A53 – June Samsung Galaxy A35 – June Samsung Galaxy A34 – June Samsung Galaxy A33 – June Samsung Galaxy A25 – June Samsung Galaxy A16 – June Samsung Galaxy A15 – June Samsung Galaxy A14 – June Samsung Galaxy A05s – June Samsung Galaxy M53 – June Samsung Galaxy M33 – June Samsung Galaxy XCover7 – June Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro – June Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) – June Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 – June Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro – June Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ – June Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 – July Of all the devices above, at least five received the update recently: Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A25, Galaxy Tab Active 5, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024). However, as explained in our report, these updates are usually starting in South Korea and only later make the jump to other territories. Samsung Germany's roadmap seems a bit more realistic, so if your Galaxy device is on the list and you haven't yet upgraded your phone to One UI 7 , you won't have to wait too long now.
