How to get to Oasis Murrayfield gigs by bus, train or tram - full public transport options
There's an array of options to get to and from the gigs with ease - but be sure to beat the crowds. As the countdown to the much-anticipated Oasis Edinburgh shows continues, it's time to start planning your way to and from the gig. And with over 67,000 fans descending on the stadium for each of the Gallaghers' three shows in the Scots capital, it's safe to say that you don't want to leave your organising to the last minute. Liam and Noel will be taking to the Edinburgh stage on August 8, 9, and 12, when eager fans will finally hear hits like Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger for the first time since the brothers' infamous fallout 15 years ago. But with such a large-scale series of events, which chaotically coincides with the Edinburgh Fringe and Festival, it's very important to know how you're going to get to and from the gigs amid the crowds. With this in mind, we've rounded up some ways you can get to and from Murrayfield Stadium for the concert, including bus, train and tram. For Edinburgh road closures taking place during the gigs, see our list here. But scroll down for everything you need to know about public transport to Murrayfield. Train Murrayfield Stadium is a 23-minute walk from Haymarket train station, according to Google Maps, so those travelling into Edinburgh from elsewhere for the gig would do well to get off the train here. Be mindful that Waverly Station is a fair bit further to Murrayfield, although plenty buses or trams are available to get to Murrayfield from there. Scroll down for all the best inner city bus options. Bus Citylink is offering special services straight to the concert venue from Dundee, Perth Broxden, Halbeath Park and Ride, and Kinross Park and Ride to take you straight to the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium. However, Citylink notes that because these are special services, NEC cards won't be valid. Flixbus and Megabus also offer varied options for those travelling from further afield to Edinburgh city centre. If you've made your way to town in Edinburgh, several Lothian buses will take you straight to the doorstep of Murrayfield (where there are also many pubs to have a pint before heading in). The standard adult single fare for Lothian buses is £2.20. Some Lothian bus options include: 26 Clerwood (Lothian buses) 31 Eastcraigs (Lothian buses) 12 Gyle Centre You can get off at Roseburn Gardens or Murrayfield Road to be deposited just outside the venue. Other buses that pass by Murrayfield include the Citylink 900 to Glasgow, although this option may also be pricier than Lothian buses. Tram For those looking for a speedier option from Waverly or Haymarket station, or from Edinburgh city centre, the tram is another perfect way of getting to the gig. With a stop directly at Murrayfield Stadium, you can be dropped directly at the gig in a few minutes. But be sure to always buy your tram ticket at the stop before boarding, as tickets are unavailable to buy once you've hopped on. A return adult ticket for inner city travel on the tram is £4.20, or it's £2.20 for a single. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to and from the gig, especially when trying to catch a bus or train, as it's likely to be extremely busy on all three nights. The Oasis 2025 reunion tour setlist revealed – what to expect at shows in Manchester, London and Edinburgh
Last weekend, it finally happened. Oasis reunited in Cardiff for the band's first live shows since they broke up in 2009. There were hits (obvs), there were deep cuts not heard live since the early 2000s, there was even a bit of a hug. In the hours and days after the Cardiff shows there's been a wide consensus that the Gallaghers' comeback was a resounding success. Fans were satisfied and critics were pleased – but what songs did Oasis actually play? On both nights in Cardiff Oasis played the same setlist, kicking off with 'Hello' and following through with a truckload of smashes from 'Roll With It' and 'Some Might Say' to 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Wonderwall'. Minor differences came in the lyrics, with 'Wonderwall' adapted to 'there are many things that I would like to say to you... but I don't speak Welsh'. Song dedications differed, too, with the first night's 'Live Forever' played for Liverpool FC player Diogo Jota, who had died the previous day. When are Oasis playing the UK this summer? Here's the full list of tour dates Oasis are playing in Britain this summer. Brits predict Oasis tour fallout as almost half think Liam and Noel won't see it through
The famously feuding brothers have called a truce - but for how long? Oasis are kicking off their reunion tour tomorrow, Friday, July 4, in Cardiff. It is the first of 19 shows that will see roughly 1,543,889 fans rejoice at the chance to see Noel and Liam Gallagher perform live. This tour marks the first time in 15 years when the brothers' break-up shook the music world way back in 2009. The musicians will grace Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium for three shows in August, where around 80,000 bucket hats worth of beer is expected to be drunk. But as fans rejoice at the Gallaghers' reunion, many are sceptical of whether or not their rocky relationship will last the length of the summer tour. In fact, almost half of Brits polled don't think the pair's relationship will last until the end of the shows. According to a new survey from Betfair Slots, 55 per cent of Brits believe the once-feuding siblings will see the concert tour through without the start of another feud, but 45 per cent think the brothers are headed for another huge falling out. However, when it comes to the reunion itself, 55 per cent of respondents expressed their excitement, saying they're happy to see the brothers back together, but less than half (48%) believe the tour will live up to the hype. With rumours swirling about the possible tour setlist, it seems that Don't Look Back In Anger is the song most fans want to hear from the Gallagher brothers, topping the list as people's favourite. Over half of respondents (56%) named the track - written by Noel and released in 1996 - as their all-time favourite Oasis hit. It was followed by one of the band's best-known songs, Wonderwall (40%), with Morning Glory coming in third (26%). Meanwhile, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? took the top spot for favourite Oasis album, with 37 per cent of the vote. Released in October 1995, the album was Oasis 's second studio record and featured some of their standout tracks, including Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, Roll With It, and She's Electric. A leaked version of the possible setlist was posted on Twitter earlier this week, as fans anticipate the Gallaghers' return. One fan took to X, formally known as Twitter, to share the songs they overheard outside the stadium. Posing a video of the Gallagher brothers rehearsing, the message read: "SPOILER ALERT. SETLIST SO FAR PER REHEARSAL LEAKS..." The post continued to list: Rock n Roll Star Bring it on Down Hello, Fade Away Whatever The Masterplan Slide Away Cast No Shadow Some Might Say Don't Look Back in Anger Live Forever Roll With It Cigs and Alcohol Champagne Supernova However not everyone in the replies were happy with the setlist, as one fan stated: "No Lyla? No Acquiesce? Everything is from the first two albums WTF." Another showed their disappointment, writing: "Massively disappointing if that's the set. They have so many great tunes outside of Definitely Maybe & (What's the Story) Morning Glory." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Lidl to release Oasis-inspired parka jacket for limited time
The supermarket will be releasing the 'Lidl by Lidl' jacket, which is similar in style to the parka made famous by Liam Gallagher. It features two built-in drink cooling pockets to stop roadies getting warm, and the zipper doubles as a bottle opener too. In a statement, Lidl said: "Complete with a Lidl by Lidl badge on the sleeve in the nation's most iconic supermarket colours, it also comes with a tambourine for spontaneous jam sessions. This isn't just a jacket… it's a backstage pass to the ultimate party." A post shared by Lidl GB (@lidlgb) The jacket will be available to purchase on the Lidl website here from 10am on Wednesday, July 9. It will cost £30 and the supermarket will be donating all proceeds from the jacket launch to its charity partner, the NSPCC. The jacket was announced on Tuesday, July 2, with a 30-foot mural in the Gallaghers' hometown just outside Manchester City's Etihad Stadium. Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB, said: 'In celebration of one of the biggest reunion tours for music & culture, we wanted to give consumers 'everything they ever dreamed of' and create something iconic. The announcement of the new jacket was unveiled in a mural in Manchester (Image: Lidl) "With Oasis's 'Definitely Maybe' album and Lidl GB both marking 30 years, this jacket taps into the love the nation has not only for Lidl fashion, but also our brand and the band." When the announcement of the Oasis-inspired jacket was shared on Lidl's Instagram page, fans were quite excited. One person simply commented: "Actually obsessed", followed by a fire emoji. Another said: "My goodness I need one to add to my collection!!!" A third posted: "I've got to get myself one of these to add to the collection".
