UAE supplies desalinated water to Gaza
The UAE has announced the launch of a new project to supply desalinated water to the southern Gaza Strip through a new pipeline. Under the project, water will be delivered from the Egyptian border, state news agency Wam reported. The pipeline, 6.7km long and 315mm wide, will link the desalination plant built by the Emirates on the Egyptian side to displaced Palestinians between Khan Younis and Rafah. The project, part of the Gallant Knight 3 campaign, aims to serve 600,000 affected Gaza residents, providing 15 litres of desalinated water per person each day. Urgent need More than 80 per cent of water facilities in Gaza have been destroyed, leaving many within the enclave struggling to fight dehydration on a daily basis. 'The new water pipeline project is not merely an emergency response to the water crisis in Gaza, but rather an extension of the UAE's consistent approach to supporting the Palestinian people, especially in light of the catastrophic circumstances caused by the war,' said Sharif Al Nairab, media official for Operation Gallant Knight 3. 'The UAE has been and continues to be the primary supporter of Gaza across various sectors, from the construction of desalination plants to the provision of water tankers, well drilling and network maintenance, all the way to this vital project that seeks to secure drinking water for the most affected areas.' This project is the latest in a series of initiatives launched by the UAE to address the collapse of infrastructure, particularly water resources, in the enclave. It comes as displaced Palestinians in 18 areas of Gaza are being forced to move again as the Israeli army announced eviction orders "for their safety" on Tuesday. Israel's war on the enclave has killed at least 58,479 Palestinians and injured 139,355 since October 7, 2023, Gaza's Health Ministry said.

He described the organisation as a key contributor to the UAE's broader efforts to aid those affected and restore life in the region. Over 116,000 support packages delivered Sheikh Saqr stated that the charity had implemented a wide range of relief projects, delivering around 116,000 diverse aid packages. These included over 32,000 food parcels distributed to displaced families and 10,000 blankets and heavy garments to help residents survive winter without heating. Supporting children amid crisis The charity also addressed children's urgent needs by supplying 1,728 packs of baby formula, a product absent from local markets. Additionally, the charity distributed 3,000 fully stocked school bags to children returning to education under challenging circumstances. Water relief and infrastructure support The charity tackled water shortages by operating water tankers and restoring damaged wells. Recently, it launched a fundraising drive to dig 12 new wells, expected to benefit more than 312,000 people across Gaza. Food security through field kitchens and bakeries Efforts to ensure food security included running 20 field kitchens serving daily meals to approximately 45,000 people and operating 10 bakeries producing bread for nearly 9,500 beneficiaries, addressing the acute bread shortage. UAE provided Dhs4.18 billion of aid to support Palestinians since 2010
The UAE has provided aid exceeding Dhs4.18 billion to Palestinian brothers and sisters since 2010. Since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023, the UAE, through its implementation of the "Gallant Knight 3" humanitarian operation, has been the country most supportive of the people of the Gaza Strip, accounting for 42% of total international aid. This aid amounted to more than Dhs3 billion, through 53 airdrops, during which the UAE successfully delivered 3,700 tonnes of aid. The UAE also provided more than 750 tons of medical supplies, while 640,000 children received polio vaccines. The UAE field hospital has treated more than 51,000 cases since its opening, and the UAE floating hospital has provided approximately 9,500 medical services since its inauguration. Operation "Gallant Knight 3" continues to support food banks, primitive bakeries, and water well-drilling projects throughout Gaza. On the other hand, 13 Palestinians were martyred and more than 200 others were injured on Thursday by Israeli forces near the aid centre near the Netzarim checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. Over the past days, the Israeli forces have targeted aid distribution points over both in Rafah and the central Gaza Strip, resulting in dozens of killings and injuries. Since 27th May, a total of 224 Palestinians have been killed and at least 1,858 wounded at aid distribution points across the territory, according to health officials.

UAE blames Israel after 23 humanitarian convoy Is looted in Gaza
ALBAWABA - Following the looting of 23 UAE charity vehicles in Israeli military-controlled parts of Gaza, the United Arab Emirates has accused Israeli soldiers of failing to secure humanitarian assistance convoys. Concerns have been raised by the occurrence over the safety of assistance efforts and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The UAE-led humanitarian initiative "Gallant Knight 3" reported in a statement released on Saturday that many trucks carrying flour and other necessary bakery supplies had entered Gaza on Wednesday, providing some short-term optimism for the resumption of bakery operations across the war-torn region. Only 24 of the 103 assistance trucks that were supposed to arrive were permitted access, and only one of those vehicles was able to transfer its cargo to the appropriate warehouses. The operation blamed the failure on the Israeli army's insistence on risky delivery routes, which left the relief convoys vulnerable to robbery and pillage inside what it called a "red zone"—an area that is completely under Israeli military control. Due to the loss of most of the cargo, Gazans were deprived of critically needed food supplies. Right now, the aid is stolen by Israel-backed gangs. They looted 23 of the 24 aid trucks the UAE brought through the IDF blockade into — Detlef Guertler (@DetlefGuertler) May 24, 2025 The scenario was seen as a purposeful impediment to humanitarian activities, and "Gallant Knight 3" denounced the thievery. According to the mission, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza might worsen if 2.3 million residents are denied access to food and assistance. To guarantee that assistance reaches its intended destinations without hindrance or delay, the UAE urged the international community and pertinent parties to step in right away and create safe and secure humanitarian corridors. The UAE reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Palestinian people in spite of the setback, saying that the "Gallant Knight 3" mission would keep working to provide Gaza with urgent aid. As relief organizations grapple with logistical and security issues in the face of ongoing fighting, the event heightens worries about the safety of humanitarian activities in the area.
