Netflix quietly adds all 6 seasons of 'best police show' Line of Duty

All six series of the hit BBC series Line of Duty are now available for streaming on Netflix. The critically acclaimed crime thriller ran on BBC One between 2012 and 2021, captivating audiences with the investigations of anti-corruption unit AC-12. Starring Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar as the elite police taskforce, their search for elusive ringleader 'H' picked up pace as the show entered its final series – leading viewers hooked by its many twists and surprises. Line of Duty wrapped up with a 'final' series in 2021, but speculation remains rife that a seventh season is still on the cards. Series creator Jed Mercurio and a number of its stars have added fuel to the fire in recent years, hinting that a seventh season may yet emerge. Until then, fans and newcomers alike will be able to revisit all six series of a show some have dubbed 'the best police procedural show in TV history.' Across all six series of the show, Line of Duty currently boasts a 96% positive approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. This is backed up by its equally healthy audience score – 94%, according to the review aggregator. Fans have frequently heaped praise on it as one of the greatest shows ever produced in the UK, with Rotten Tomatoes user Erik K describing it as 'The best police procedural show in TV history!' Meanwhile, user Chet T described it as 'exceptionally well written,' while Andi called it 'the peak of any crime TV.' Despite wrapping up in 2021, the series left enough stones unturned that the door remains open for a seventh series. Speaking to The Sun this year, star Compston weighed in on rumours of a return, revealing: 'We're always talking about possibilities and schedules and whatnot.' However, he quickly quashed viewers hopes, saying: 'Everybody's got stuff going on at the minute, so I think anything, unfortunately, would be a way off.' Pressed on an update on series 7, McClure told 'There is no news. That is the news, no news!' In Line of Duty's absence, viewers will be able to get their fix in the new upcoming political thriller from the show's creator, Trinity. More Trending Written and executive produced by Jed Mercurio, this Netflix series will star Gugu Mbatha-Raw as a nuclear submarine commander who becomes embroiled in an apparent conspiracy when she meets shady defence secretary Webb Preston. With Webb being played by former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, the series marks the reunion of Bodyguard creator Mercurio and star Madden. ‘House of the Dragon' Season 3 teases a major fix for Aegon II's war arc: From brat to burdened king?

As House of the Dragon gears up for its third season, fans are buzzing over a new tease that suggests Aegon II Targaryen may finally move beyond his reckless, impulsive persona. Actor Tom Glynn-Carney, who portrays the troubled king, hinted at a deeper, more introspective arc that could correct one of Season 2's biggest criticisms—the lack of emotional complexity in Aegon's leadership during the Targaryen civil war . Aegon's Season 2 struggles: All fire, no depth In Season 2, Aegon's portrayal leaned heavily into chaos—his immaturity, insecurity, and rash decisions were on full display, but there was little room for variation or emotional nuance. While entertaining, this depiction left audiences questioning the depth of his character, especially in a war as morally grey as the Dance of the Dragons. A journey of self-discovery in Season 3 According to Glynn-Carney, Season 3 will explore Aegon's internal reckoning. 'It's a big journey of self-discovery,' he shared, suggesting that Aegon will begin to question his identity, motivations, and the darker corners of his psyche. This shift could offer a more layered portrayal—one that doesn't excuse his past actions but critically examines them. Read the full quote here: 'I think what we start to see in Aegon as we go through this story is this quest for an understanding of who he is, and why he is the way he is. And answering a lot of questions for himself that later might lend themselves to him kinda leveling up as a human being and taking responsibility and casting light on those areas that were otherwise very shadowed and hidden in dusty corners within himself. So it's a big journey of self-discovery... That's how his arc seems to be coming together as the tapestry keeps being woven.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Not a redemption arc—but a human one While Aegon's past deeds may be unforgivable, the goal isn't redemption—it's realism. Much like Jaime Lannister or Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones, Aegon's evolution could make him more compelling, if not entirely sympathetic. The show's creators seem poised to balance the scales between the Greens and the Blacks, giving both sides emotional weight rather than presenting them in black-and-white terms.

'She will forever be furious': Taylor Swift ends friendship with Blake Lively after lawsuit drama, leans on Travis Kelce for comfort

Taylor Swift has ditched Blake Lively with no way back for friendship (Getty Images) What was once one of Hollywood's most adored friendships has reportedly come to a dramatic end. Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, once inseparable on vacations, red carpets, and NFL game nights, are no longer on speaking terms. According to a revealing Page Six report, the collapse of their relationship stems from a $400 million lawsuit involving Blake's It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni — and Swift is now leaning on her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, for support during the fallout. Taylor Swift distances from Blake and It Ends With Us while finding peace with Travis Kelce The legal dispute exposed private texts where Blake Lively referred to Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds as her 'dragons,' comparing herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. This comment — made in the context of her legal dispute — reportedly outraged Swift, who felt blindsided and misrepresented. 'She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin,' a source close to Swift told Page Six. 'She really hates that Blake would even think like that, let alone write the things she did in that text.' While Swift had previously licensed her song My Tears Ricochet for the film's soundtrack, she never promoted the movie — even before the legal mess surfaced. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Sources say that wasn't by accident. Swift reportedly saw the friendship as casual and low-pressure, not one where she'd be expected to get involved in someone else's legal fight. 'The truth is, the text wasn't even accurate,' the insider said. 'That's not the kind of friendship they ever had—Taylor would never think of herself as Blake's 'dragon.'' Amid the public drama, insiders say Swift has found grounding and reassurance in her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The couple, who've become one of pop culture's most watched pairs, have been spending more time together during Swift's Eras Tour breaks. 'Travis has been a calming presence for Taylor,' one entertainment insider shared privately. 'She's leaned on him throughout this entire fallout with Blake. He gets the pressure she's under and doesn't ask anything from her except honesty and time.' 'They were baking pals, travel pals, home decor pals… and to be totally honest, billionaire pals,' the source added. 'It was nice to be with someone else who 'gets it'.' Now, with the friendship fractured and the legal dust settling, Swift is said to be moving forward with a smaller, tighter circle — one where trust isn't just assumed, but earned. 'Taylor buries hatchets but keeps maps of where she put them,' the source added, quoting Swift's lyric from End Game. 29 Popular Things That Were Not Worth The Hype

A while back, we asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us things that got a TON of hype but turned out to be disappointing. Here are the surprising results: "To me, what is not worth the hype is McDonald's French fries. They are super thin, and you have to eat a handful to get the taste. The 'large' portion isn't even that large. There's much better." "Game of Thrones. It's boring. I can't even make it through the first season. And I don't mean it's boring for a lack of action; I don't mind that if the writing is good. I mean, even the dialogue is bad. It vacillates between obnoxiously pompous and cartoonishly coarse depending on who's talking." "Hot yoga. Downward-dogging in a 350-degree oven with someone else's sweaty crack in my face, and inhaling the scent of BO. Hard pass." "Six years of watching the show Lost. It was all great, but the ending was the worst ending ever! Nobody I knew was happy about the ending of that show. So disappointed! The writers didn't even know how to end that show. Still disappointed after all these years!" "The Apple bandwagon. Hahaha, no. Eff Once I finally begrudgingly made the switch two years ago, I went with Samsung. Could not be happier. Zero regrets." "Y2K. Turn off your computers on NYE 1999, or everything will crash! Nope." "College. People told me it would be the best years of my life; I would discover who I was and learn how to be an adult. I was miserable. I changed majors three times and learned nothing that would help with my career. I was at my lowest point mentally and had breakdowns constantly." "Citizen Kane. Movie snobs say it's one of the best movies of all time. I saw it and was bored. It's one of those movies people say they enjoyed (when they really didn't) simply to be considered intellectual, especially if you're in a movie/art and entertainment field." "Getting a transplant. 'It'll make your life SOOO much better!' Six months after, I went into rejection, and they gave me a buttload of steroids to save it. After that, my body reacted and put on twice my weight, and I couldn't stand or walk for long without agonizing pain. I had to buy an electric wheelchair." "AirPods. Everyone had to have them because of how 'compact' and discreet they were, and now, I think they've mostly been replaced with over-the-ear headphones or corded ones since they don't stay in your ears, and the audio quality goes way down after a couple of months." "Blackberry was 'all the hype' until everyone jumped on the Apple bandwagon." "Family Guy and subsequent Seth MacFarlane shows that followed the same formulaic setup. It was just the same jokes over and over and over again. And just not funny after the first couple of seasons, IMO." "Any music festival or outdoor concert. I'm over them, and I will never go to another one no matter how many of my friends say, 'But this one will be better/more amazing/so fun.' No. They are the worst. Sweaty, smelly masses crushed together. The women's bathroom situation is always a nightmare. Food and drink costs are not just price gouging, but price-eviscerating." "Running barefoot. It was a thing, and I was talked into it by a fellow runner. It was a complete hour of painful humiliation followed by a week of bruised and battered recovery. Never again." "Bridgerton, Season 3. Other than Penelope, it's meh. I'm more just outraged at waiting two years, getting four mediocre episodes with so much going on; I have to have an 'A Beautiful Mind'-style chart next to me each episode. Penelope deserves a season to herself, but I feel like she is still a background character. I get they had to establish Francesca (which they are at fault for giving her one minute of screen time in the first two seasons) — BUT the fact they are taking the spotlight away from Penelope to do it is tragic. I wanted a plus-sized woman in the front of the season, but god forbid they do that. Also, every time Colin is on screen, I'm like, 'Someone come and tell this guy to shut up.'" "Chick-fil-A. The chicken is just meh. Nothing great. And their fries suck." "Disneyland. My first trip to the park was with the USC marching band, and we were there to show off for the upcoming Rose Bowl. I'd spent three years with classmates/bandmates/friends telling me what an 'amazing experience' Disneyland was." "The Tesla Cybertruck. It looks like it lost service while loading and only managed four pixels." "The McRib Sandwich, every single time. I tried it again during the last promotion, thinking I was just not giving it a fair chance. Nope! Now, return the chicken wraps, McDonald's! You owe us for that, and it's the least you could do." "CW did an amazing job with the DC shows. Snyder was a sure thing when his version of Justice League was released. The Flash movie was amped up and advertised a lot, emphasizing Michael Keaton's return as Batman. That movie was a mess, even with Keaton." "Something I ordered because it looked pretty effective on TV — a little drain snake for home use. Appeared to work great in the ad, but what I got was a little piece of Velcro on a wire that was too wobbly to ever go into a drain." "Agatha Christie's work. I read Murder on the Orient Express a few years ago and was enjoying it throughout, trying to pick up on clues and figure out whodunnit before getting to the end. Oh, no! I get to the end with about three suspects out of 14, one being significantly the most suspect, and the detective solves the crime with new information presented at the end. I was not happy with that!" "Cryptocurrency. It was supposed to revolutionize commerce from the ground up, but it made no sense to me initially. The fact that these coins had to be 'mined' using wild amounts of electricity further distanced me from investing." "Schitt's Creek. It just wasn't funny. Felt like you had to laugh at it because people told you it was hilarious." "Turning 50. I thought it was a big deal, but it was really just another day like the day before and the one after." "The original Shake Weight." "Going way back here: the Xbox Kinect. It was Microsoft's answer to the Wii, and everyone got one, used it for three months, and then never touched it again. Gimmick technology has that tendency, but at least it was fascinating to experience it at the time." "Avengers: Endgame was a fantastic movie. The next MCU phase was looking to be good. Spiderman came out and was amazing. Then, every movie from there was such a disappointment." And finally... "Being an adult. I know they tried to warn us when we were kids, but all I wanted to do was grow up. Now, I'm here, and adulting is hard. Definitely did not live up to the hype"." What are some other things that didn't live up to the hype? Tell us your thoughts in the comments, or if you prefer to remain anonymous, you can use the form below.

'Pleading for forgiveness':Blake Lively refuses to let Taylor Swift cut her off as Travis Kelce quietly sides with the his lady love

Blake Lively's longstanding friendship with Taylor Swift is said to be over (Getty Images) Blake Lively is fighting to save more than her reputation—she's desperately trying to hold on to her friendship with Taylor Swift , even as the fallout from her legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni sends shockwaves through her personal life. With Taylor's boyfriend Travis Kelce now quietly distancing himself from Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds , insiders say the divide is becoming increasingly public—and painful. Blake Lively fights to win back Taylor Swift as Travis Kelce cuts ties with Ryan Reynolds Despite Swift's decision to step back, Blake Lively is reportedly doing everything she can to repair the rift. 'Blake is devastated that things have gotten to this place, and she's refusing to accept that their friendship is over. She's been texting and calling Taylor, pleading for forgiveness,' a source close to the actress revealed. — PerezHilton (@PerezHilton) The rift widened after a leaked message from Blake to Baldoni stirred controversy. 'If you ever get round to watching Game of Thrones , you'll appreciate that I'm Khaleesi. And like her, I happen to have a few dragons,' Blake reportedly wrote—an eyebrow-raising statement that some believe referenced Swift as one of her symbolic 'dragons.' But sources close to Taylor strongly deny she'd ever see herself in such a role. 'She would never think of herself as Blake's dragon, or protector,' one insider emphasized. And the fallout is now reaching beyond the women themselves. Travis Kelce, who has become a central figure in Taylor's highly public personal life, has subtly made his stance known by unfollowing Ryan Reynolds on Instagram. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Klik Di Sini Undo It's a quiet move—but one fans haven't missed—and suggests Kelce is standing in solidarity with Swift as she distances herself from the drama. Blake, meanwhile, isn't backing down. Determined to make things right, she's reportedly enlisted mutual friends like Hugh Jackman and Salma Hayek to help rebuild the bridge to Taylor. Jackman, a longtime friend of Ryan, is said to be acting as a mediator behind the scenes. But Blake may be losing more than just Taylor. Insiders say that members of Swift's inner circle, including Gigi Hadid , Selena Gomez , and Cara Delevingne, have already backed away from the actress. 'They acted like they were her friends, but the moment Taylor was upset, they showed their true colours,' the source added. With Blake continuing to plead her case and Travis Kelce quietly backing Taylor, the odds of a full reconciliation remain uncertain. Still, Blake isn't giving up. 'She loves Taylor and misses her terribly, and she'll do anything to fix this,' says the source. Whether Swift—and Kelce—are willing to open that door again remains to be seen.
