CBS Sports ranks Clemson with the most high-powered college football offense for 2025

CBS Sports is giving Clemson fans plenty to be excited about, ranking the Tigers as the No. 1 high-powered college football offense 'guaranteed to produce fireworks' in the 2025 season. With the way things are shaping up, it's hard to argue otherwise. Clemson brings back nearly every major piece from last year's ACC title team that reached the College Football Playoff — and the centerpiece is quarterback Cade Klubnik. According to CBS, 'Quarterback Cade Klubnik has a realistic shot at setting the league's single-season touchdown record in his third campaign under Garrett Riley as Clemson's offensive coordinator.' That production has Klubnik firmly in the early Heisman conversation — and if he delivers, he could bring the program its first-ever Heisman Trophy. He's also rising up 2026 NFL Draft boards along with star wideout Antonio Williams, as both are already showing up in first-round projections. Outside of the backfield, the Tigers' pass-catching group might be the best in the nation. CBS called it an 'expansive wideout room' and added, 'You're not going to find a better wideout trio than Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore, either.' The staff also went out and added even more depth with Tristan Smith, a transfer from Southeast Missouri State, to help keep the big plays coming. Running back Phil Mafah's departure to the NFL leaves a big hole — he racked up over 1,100 yards and eight scores in 2024 — but the offensive firepower surrounding Klubnik and the receiving corps has Clemson fans dreaming big. With Garrett Riley dialing up the plays, a Heisman hopeful under center, and future NFL talent at the skill spots, the Tigers look ready to light up scoreboards and make another serious run at a national championship.
