GAVIN and Stacey star Mathew Horne is set to visit Worcestershire for a 'very special event' following the success of a previous show with another celebrity comedian. Evesham Live will welcome the comedian to The Theatre Barn, Bretforton, for a one-off evening where Mr Horne will discuss his life and career on Sunday, July 6. Keith Norledge, Evesham Live's Programmer, said: "After the recent success of a similar event with Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas, we've done it again. "We're talking all things Gavin and Stacey at this very special event with none other than its lead, Mathew Horne. "This is a great coup for us as, at present, this is just one of two shows scheduled to place." More: City boxer bumps into 'charming' promoter Eddie Hearn More: The tiny Worcestershire village that has become a magnet for the rich and famous Mr Horne will appear in front of a live audience for the first time since the Gavin and Stacey series finale, which aired on Christmas Day. Mr Norledge said: "We'll also of course be touching on Mathew's other work including his comedy work with Catherine Tate and his working relationship with James Cordon." Tickets for the show are £25 and can be purchased from or at Johnsons, 91 High Street, Evesham.

Residents of a care home were delighted to receive a surprise visit from a TV Lamb visited Langham Manor care home in Stowmarket, Suffolk, while publicising his new book. The actor is best known for playing Archie Mitchell in EastEnders and Mick Shipman in Gavin & Stacey. "Everyone was happy and a bit overwhelmed. He went round and sat down to say hello to everyone individually," activities coordinator Natasha Streatfield said. "He did not leave anyone out and was really friendly."On Saturday, Lamb, 77, attended an event at Dial Lane Books in Ipswich to promote his novel All Wrapped Up, before visiting his publisher in there, he went over to the care home, which is Streatfield said: "I told them it was a celebrity coming and that it was Larry Lamb. "A few of the residents were downstairs and were happy and a bit overwhelmed."In the end he must have signed about 10 to 13 books, he had to keep running across the road to get more books." The care home is a residential and nursing complex that currently houses about 61 Streatfield said that one of the residents "is still talking about it and how she has a signed book" by Lamb. She added that another, who is in her 80s, said she was "a bit overwhelmed" and cried when the actor left. "It was a lovely surprise for residents and staff.
