Saudi Arabia launches visa extension initiative to mark start of Hijri New Year
Saudi Arabia has introduced a new initiative to mark the beginning of the Hijri New Year, allowing holders of expired visit visas — of all types — a 30-day window to leave the country legally. According to the Kingdom's General Directorate of Passports, the extension, which will be available for a period of 30 days, will start from 1/1/1447 AH (June 27, 2025). The move is aimed at facilitating final departure for individuals whose visit visas have expired.
