Egypt's Grand Mufti condemns Israeli settler incursions on Al-Aqsa Mosque
Egypt's Grand Mufti, Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, the head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Authorities and Institutions Worldwide, harshly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by dozens of extremist Israeli settlers under heavy protection from occupation forces. In a statement, he warned that these assaults clearly showcase Israel's systematic policy of desecrating Islamic sites and disregarding international law. The Grand Mufti emphasized that these repeated incursions are not isolated incidents, but are premeditated steps within an Israeli colonization plan targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which seeks to forcibly occupy a site seen as sacred to over two billion Muslims. Any intrusion into the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a blatant violation of the nation's fundamental principles and its protected sanctities, a blatant assault against an Islamic nation, and a violation of the Islamic consensus that considers Al-Aqsa as an inviolable border. 'We will repeat it a thousand times: the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with all its surrounding courtyards and landmarks, is a purely Islamic right that is not subject to division or bargaining, and is not disputed or divided, under any circumstances or pretext,' he stressed. The Grand Mufti called on the international community, human rights organizations, and the free people of the world to take immediate and effective action to confront Israel's tyranny, prevent the occupation from continuing its crimes against the land and any holy sites.
