Station 19′s Barrett Doss Among Little House on the Prairie's Latest Additions

In her first TV role since Station 19 was unceremoniously doused after seven seasons, Barrett Doss is making camp at Little House on the Prairie. Described as 'Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West,' Netflix's 'fresh' adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder's iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books promises 'a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.' More from TVLine Casting News: Jack Lowden Leads Berlin Noir Series, Matthew Rhys Is Invincible and More Assassin's Creed Live-Action Adaptation Ordered to Series at Netflix Casting News: Olivia Colman and Brie Larson's FX Drama, Jax Taylor Exits The Valley and More Alice Halsey, who played daughter to Brie Larson in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry, will fill the role of wee Laura Ingalls, while Skywalker Hughes (Joe Pickett) will play older sister Mary. Ruling the cramped roost as Ma and Pa/Caroline and Charles will be Crosby Fitzgerald (Palm Royale) and Luke Bracey (the Aussie star of 2015's Point Break remake). As first reported by Deadline, Doss will recur as Emily Henderson, a charming woman who is good with people, and numbers, which helps her run the General Store. Also filling recurring guest star roles will be Mary Holland (Ghosts' Patience) as Jemma James, a confident woman who has an air of big city and is the town's busybody; Michael Hough (Chapelwaite) as Jemma's husband Eli, who works for the railroad and is supportive of the newcomers arriving in town; Kowen Cadorath (SkyMed) as Caleb, a skinny, 'prairie handsome' pre-teen whom Emily offers a job at the General Store; Thosh Collins (Disney+'s Echo) as Louis, the good-natured of Alyssa Wapanatǎhk's White Sun; Maclean Fish (Shoresy) as Adam Scott, who is 'boyish and handsome but soft' (and probably about to get served papers by a Severance star); and Rebecca Amzallag (Titans) as Lacey Aubert, a beautiful and happily widowed outcast who owns a card room and bar on the edge of town. Anglesea Rd closed after truck, van crash at Freshwater Creek

Multiple vehicles, including a van and truck, have been involved in a traffic-stopping accident in Freshwater Creek. It's understood the accident occurred at 7.08am on Tuesday at the corner of Dickins and Anglesea roads, outside the Freshwater Creek General Store. In CCTV footage from the general store, a small car driving through the intersection on Dickins Rd can be seen to clip the side of a Ford Transit Van travelling down Anglesea Rd. The van visibly loses control, spinning out towards the oncoming traffic where it is hit by a slow-moving truck carrying a bob cat. A store employee said he had heard a loud bang from inside. 'Lucky they're all okay,' he said. 'That's why it's 60km here.' The van's passenger side windscreen and door was crushed by the collision. It's understood no one was injured in the crash. A CFA spokeswoman said firefighters were called to clear debris from the road. Police attended the scene. Traffic in the area came to a halt as Anglesea Rd was closed, and remained slowed until approximately 9am. Originally published as Anglesea Rd closed after truck, van crash at Freshwater Creek

Grand Canyon Lodge and North Rim without power since Sunday

GRAND CANYON, Arizona () — The National Park Service (NPS) reported a power outage that has been affecting the North Rim and the Grand Canyon Lodge since Sunday, June 1. NPS identified the cause of the outage as an equipment failure involving a transformer near the Grand Canyon Lodge. Overnight reservations at the Lodge were cancelled beginning June 2 because of the outage. 'The National Park Service appreciates visitors' patience and understanding as we continue working closely with the concessioner to restore lodging and food services to full operations,' NPS said in a press release. Glen Canyon off-road and all-terrain vehicle access restored by Trump, Utah lawmakers Crews have been working around heavy rain and lightning storms since the outage began to restore power to concessioner facilities, including the General Store, fuel station, campground showers and laundry, the North Rim Campground, employee housing, and other administrative areas, NPS reported. Several facilities are 'open and accessible' during the outage, NPS said, including the NPS Campground and Backcountry Information Kiosk, Ranger Roost (info desk), Scenic Viewpoints, and the North Kaibab Trail. NPS also announced that evening programs will be located at the North Rim Campground until power is restored to the Grand Canyon Lodge and that the Grand Canyon Conservancy Store is expected to be open. Gen X Nostalgic Restaurant Ground Round Makes Comeback

Rising from the ashes (and peanut shells) of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the iconic, 1980s kid-birthday spot, Ground Round, is back. Gen X-ers may remember many meals at this place, which featured cartoons projected on the walls, and bowls of peanuts on the table whose shells you were encouraged to toss on the floor. (The peanuts were replaced with popcorn.) Kids loved the ice cream sundaes served in mini plastic baseball helmets, and parents loved their "Pay What You Weigh" promotion, where kids were only charged a penny per pound. Related: How This NYC Restaurant Went From General Store to Michelin Alas, like everything wonderfully bonkers from our childhood, Ground Round hit the skids. At its height, it boasted over 200 locations. In 2004, it filed for bankruptcy, and in recent years, it has been down to just four locations — three in North Dakota and one in Ohio. But The Street reports that Ground Round's operations are not grinding to a halt. Entrepreneurs Joseph and Nachi Shea bought the rights to the chain's name and IP, and have opened a new location in their hometown of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. And even the scale is back (Tuesdays only, and it's optional to actually use it, of course). Per the chain's website, "the reimagined and reinvented Ground Round" is "a place where you can relive fond childhood memories while savoring a thoughtfully prepared, high-quality meal. It's not just a comeback; it's a revival." Sadly, there is no mention of baseball helmet sundaes on the menu, but here's hoping they take a swing at it.
