Here is what a UCL winner asked me about Celtic and Rangers
The Ayr United manager and assistant played alongside the Real Madrid and Spain legend as well as pros Aaron Rai and Eugenio Chacarra at the Genesis Scottish Open Pro-Am. It was a successful day's golfing for the Old Firm duo as they rubbed shoulders with a Champions League winner. And while there wasn't much football chat, there was one thing puzzling Raul - why the pair were pals when one played for Celtic and the other Rangers. Read more: Whittaker revealed: 'When we mentioned [playing for] Celtic, Rangers, he was almost like: How are you friends? "But then I explained we obviously came through together at Hibs for the six years we spent together. He was a gentleman all the way around. It was a pleasure to play a round with him." Brown added: 'He was a great lad. He spoke really well all the way around, very friendly, so was his family, also his lad being on the bag (caddying) as well. "He talked a little bit about his career, but he was more interested in golf and it was good just to get an honest chat all the way around. There wasn't too much football chat, shall we say.'

Scott Brown reveals the Celtic and Rangers question Raul had for him and Steven Whittaker at golf link up
The Ayr management duo enjoyed Pro-Am blast with the stars but the former Celtic skipper had a mare Ex-Scotland heroes Scott Brown and Steven Whittaker savoured their golfing day alongside Real Madrid icon Raul and the game's elite. The Ayr United management duo teamed-up with the Spanish superstar as well as pros Aaron Rai and Eugenio Chacarra at the Genesis Scottish Open Pro-Am. Whittaker produced an eagle at one point as Brown confirmed: 'Net albatross, so that was good. We got a few points. I think more importantly, it was a good day with some good golf, but also it was a quiet friendly match and the pros were exceptional. There was some good golf, some really bad golf, probably down to me that!' Chat with Raul, whose son Hugo caddies for Chacarra, was kept mainly to golf as Brown explained: 'He was a great lad. He spoke really well all the way around, very friendly, so was his family, also his lad being on the bag as well. "He talked a little bit about his career, but he was more interested in golf and it was good just to get an honest chat all the way around. There wasn't too much football chat, shall we say.' But when jokingly asked about discussing an Ayr deal, Brown quipped: 'To be fair, he says he's still got the pace to go in behind, so we've tried to open it up!' Whittaker smiled: 'When we mentioned [playing for] Celtic, Rangers, he was almost like: How are you friends! "But then I explained we obviously came through together at Hibs for the six years we spent together. He was a gentleman all the way around. It was a pleasure to play a round with him. 'The golf was a bit hit and miss, but the company, and just to play a course like this when it's set up for the Scottish Open, is really special. "Off the first, you're always thinking: Just get the tee-shot away, but I found it nervous coming up the last as well. I shanked about three shots! I just knew there were so many eyes on me. "It's a different nerves to playing football because that's what we've done obviously all our days.' Getting to see Rai, the 2020 Renaissance champ, and Chacarra up close was a thrill as he added: 'The way the ball goes through the air is just frightening. It seems to be in the air forever when they drive the ball off the tee, but you see their feel and their focus just trying to prepare for the few days coming up.'
