8 nabbed over Genting brawl, 3 men still wanted

(PDRM pic) PETALING JAYA : Eight men have been arrested over a brawl at the SkyAvenue shopping mall in Genting Highlands two weeks ago, and police are still tracking down three more suspects. Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar said the eight suspects were arrested in Genting Highlands, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor following public tip-offs. In a statement, he said the eight male suspects comprised five Malaysians and three foreigners, aged between 28 and 61. 'During the arrests, we also confiscated a knife and a metal rod believed to have been used in the incident. All eight suspects are currently under remand for further investigation. 'Police are still tracking down three other individuals,' he said. Police want to contact Malaysians N Gopala Krishnan, 33, and Khoo Kim Fatt, 43, as well as Chinese national Zhang He. A video of the brawl, showing two groups of men attacking each other, had made the rounds online.

KUANTAN, July 12 — Police have opened an investigation paper following a viral video showing a brawl involving a group of men, believed to have taken place at the SkyAvenue shopping mall in Genting Highlands yesterday. Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said two reports related to the incident were received today at 11.49 am and 12.50 pm. 'The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code. Further investigations are underway to identify those involved,' he said in a statement today. He also urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation. A 55-second video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing several men involved in a physical altercation at the mall in Bentong. — Bernama

Runaway bus causes pillar to collapse at Genting Highlands

Cops probing video alleging sexual harassment by Genting balloon vendor
The three-minute video showed a man catching his breath outside a building in Genting Highlands, recalling an encounter with an older man purportedly giving out balloons to strangers. PETALING JAYA : Police are investigating a video showing a man alleging sexual harassment by a balloon vendor in Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang. Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar said in a statement that no official report was filed on the incident. He urged the owner of the TikTok account on which the video was posted to come forward and assist in investigations. 'Initial checks on the TikTok account's content revealed that the individual may have been involved in several other similar incidents at different locations, where attempts of criminal acts were made against him,' he said. Zaiham urged those who had experienced similar incidents to contact the police and file a report. The three-minute video showed a man catching his breath outside a building in Genting Highlands, recalling an encounter with an older man who was purportedly giving balloons to strangers. The man claimed that upon accepting a balloon, the vendor invited him to a room for a snack. However, the balloon vendor allegedly locked the two of them in the room and asked the man to expose himself for RM50, which he refused to do. But the man later pulled out a RM50 note from his hoodie before the video ended. Asked if the video could be a prank, Zaiham said a report would be filed if it was found to be fake.
