Cash and Glasspool win Men's Doubles at Wimbledon 2025

The fifth seeds defeated David Pel of the Netherlands and Australia's Rinky Hijikata 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Cash, 28, and Glasspool, 31, had already ticked off an impressive stat before the game even began, as they were the first all-British pair to reach the final since Mike Davies and Bobby Wilson in 1960. However, they went one step further by going all the way, with a comfortable first set before a slightly nervier second, which they edged out in the tiebreak. This started in 1968 when professionals were allowed to take part in Grand Slam tournaments. Speaking with BBC Sport on winning the tournament Cash said: "I mean it's something we spoke about going into the year. "We had two goals - one was to make it to Turin, another was to win a Slam. "To do it here couldn't mean more" 🥹 Winning a Grand Slam was one of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool's goals at the start of the year - and they've got the job done in style at #Wimbledon What a moment for the British pair 🇬🇧 — Wimbledon (@Wimbledon) July 12, 2025 "A lot of people probably wouldn't have believed us. Meanwhile, Glasspool commented on the fact the pair were the first all-British duo to win the Men's Doubles for 89 years. He said: "When you say it it sounds incredible. I didn't think too much about it. We've given you one Brit the last few years but now we've given you two Brits."

The Brighton player and partner Glasspool overcame Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in a thrilling semi-final. The British fifth seeds put on a commanding performance on Court 1 with their serves being too much for their opponents to handle. They are now set to face Australian Rinky Hijikata and Dutchman David Pel in the final on Saturday. Cash, 28, and Glasspool, 31, believe the support from their family and friends was crucial in their semi-final success. Cash said: "Going out on a big court like that makes such a difference. "It makes it feel normal, the people you're travelling with are around." Cash and Glasspool had already overcome the defending champions in the quarter-final to earn their place in the semi-final against Granollers and Zeballos. Advertisement Their semi-final performance was exemplary, with the pair racing ahead to take the first set. Cash and Glasspool sent down 11 aces, compared to their opponents' zero, to secure their place in the final. This result sees them both reach their first Grand Slam final, and they're confident about their chances against unseeded Hijikata and Pel, who earlier stunned top seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic. The final will take place on Saturday in similar sweltering south-west London conditions. Glasspool added: "It was a really good match today - we were really clean and clinical. "It was only an hour - everything went to plan and our way. Advertisement "But I do think we still [can get better] – we have a few more things we can iron out and get rid of. "To replicate that again would be great." The pair are hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow Brit Henry Patten, who lifted the All England Club trophy alongside Harri Heliovaara last year. If successful, Cash and Glasspool will make their mark in British Wimbledon history. Cash said: "They've been great throughout the fortnight - they've also put in a great shift through the not so glamorous weeks as well."
