Nation's No. 4 Recruit Commits to Historic College Football Program

Nation's No. 4 Recruit Commits to Historic College Football Program originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The top talent in the 2026 recruiting class continues to make their decisions on where they will be taking their talents to start their collegiate careers, which includes offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. Advertisement It was a heated battle to see which program would land his services, as he was deciding between the Oregon Ducks, the LSU Tigers, the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Auburn Tigers, all of whom he'd had official visits with. Of course, only one could come out on top, and on Thursday, Iheanacho announced his commitment to Oregon, per On3's Hayes Fawcett, where he will play under head coach Dan Lanning. This gives the Ducks a huge reason to celebrate, as On3 Industry Rankings had Iheanacho as a five-star recruit, the No.2 offensive tackle, the No. 2 player in Maryland and the No. 4 player in the nation. Advertisement During the 2024 season with Georgetown Prep, he was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American after not allowing a single sack the entire year, and at 6-foot-7 and 380 pounds, he's proven to be an impressive force on the field. Iheanacho also becomes the third offensive lineman that Oregon has landed in this year's cycle, joining four-star Tommy Tofi and three-star Koloi Kelo. Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning received a commitment from offensive tackle Immanuel Goddin-Imagn Images As a whole, Lanning has produced an extremely impressive 2026 recruiting class, now holding a total of 13 commitments, ranking No. 3 in the Big Ten and No. 8 in the nation. Oregon may not be done yet either, as the On3 recruiting prediction machine gives them the best chance to land four-star athlete Jalen Lott (63.6%), four-star cornerback Davon Benjamin (94%) and three-star safety Jaxon Toala (46.1%). Georgetown Prep extended its reign over the Interstate Athletic Conference Saturday, earning a sixth consecutive league title with a dominant 17-0 home victory over Landon in Bethesda. The Hoyas won Game 1, 9-4, on the road Wednesday.

Georgetown Prep rolls to seventh straight IAC golf title

The Interstate Athletic Conference golf championship at P.B. Dye in Ijamsville, Maryland, was a shotgun start, which meant the scores arrived in a steady afternoon stream after a round on the famed architect's tricky greens and tough lies. But when the score for Georgetown Prep junior Liam Chalfant was posted, the matter was all but settled. Playing out of the No. 4 spot for the Little Hoyas, Chalfant carded a 2-over 74 on the hilly layout to claim the individual title and fuel Prep's seventh consecutive IAC title.
