Unni Mukundan and Joshiy join forces for an actioner
This is Unni's first outing with Joshiy, who is known for helming several celebrated mass entertainers over the years. According to the makers, the upcoming film will feature Unni in a "never-before-seen avatar". It is scripted by Abhilash N Chandran, who wrote Joshiy's Porinju Mariam Jose and his son Abhilash Joshiy's King of Kotha. While Joshiy last made Antony with Joju George, Unni's last release was Get-Set Baby, in which he played a male gynaecologist. Although the actor had announced a sequel to Marco, he recently opted out of the project, citing 'negativity around it'.

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan's Instagram account has been hacked. The actor took to Facebook to warn his fans not to click suspicious links sent from his account or believe any content posted on it. Unni Mukundan's Instagram account hacked Unni posted a note on his Facebook informing fans that his Instagram account has been hacked. He wrote, 'IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. My official Instagram account @iamunnimukundan has been hacked. Any updates, DMs, stories, or content going out from that account are not from me — they are being posted by the hackers.' He also warned fans not to engage with the account, asking them not to click any links or give out personal information, writing, 'Please do NOT engage, click on any suspicious links, or share personal information in response to anything from that account at this time.' Unni ended the note by telling fans that they're working to get his account back, 'We're working with the relevant teams to resolve the issue. I'll keep you all posted through verified channels. Thanks for your support and caution. #StaySafe #InstagramHack #ImportantUpdate.' Fans were worried for the actor, asking him to secure his other social media accounts also. 'please check ur every accounts , very very carefully ...may u & all your accounts be in safety always ...hoping all these issues be resolved soon …' wrote one fan. Another commented, 'Dear UM,I just wanted to remind you to take a moment and double-check everything, especially your official Facebook account and your e-mail address. These two are closely connected, so if one has been compromised, the other might be at risk too.' Recent work Unni has worked in mostly Malayalam and some Telugu and Tamil films in his career. He rose to fame in 2024 when he starred in Marco as the titular character. The film received criticism for its violence, though others liked it for that very reason. According to Sacnilk, it earned ₹102.55 crore worldwide. Last seen in Get-Set Baby, he will soon star in Mindiyum Paranjum.

After being accused of allegedly assaulting him, the Marco star shared a detailed statement with Manorama Online. He clarified that no physical harm was done during the confrontation and called the accusations completely baseless. No physical assault happened, says Unni Mukundan Unni Mukundan clarified that while he did confront Vipin, there was no physical harm caused. He said the discussion took place in the basement parking area of a Kochi apartment complex and it was under constant CCTV surveillance. Their mutual friend Vishnu Unnithan was present during the encounter. The Get-Set Baby actor said that he had gone to meet his manager following a suggestion from director Vishnu Mohan, who had earlier spoken to Vipin and received an apology. Unni said he wanted to understand why someone he trusted would speak against him behind his back. Unni Mukundan demands an apology from Vipin In his statement, Unni Mukundan admitted that he did break Vipin's sunglasses as he was furious during the confrontation. He claimed that the manager appeared nervous and avoided eye contact when asked to explain his actions. The Marco actor said he requested Vipin to remove his sunglasses so they could talk directly. However, he insisted that there was no act of violence beyond this. He added that people were present during the entire incident and that the area was under camera surveillance. He also said that Vipin apologized in front of Vishnu and that he ended their professional relationship on the spot. Unni shared that he had asked Vipin to return access to his digital accounts and submit a written apology. He said, "He's now in damage control mode, trying to cover up his mistakes by making childish accusations." He said, "I personally called Tovino and explained everything — he understood the situation. We've been friends since we entered the industry and share a strong bond. Tovino was someone who celebrated the success of 'Marco' with me. No false rumour can destroy that friendship." Unni's allegations against Vipin Kumar Unni alleged that Vipin has a history of complaints against him from within the film industry. He said a prominent actress had filed an ICC complaint against him and that issues also arose during the promotions of Marco. Unni claimed that Vipin often tried to take credit for the team's efforts and that he had stepped in to resolve matters at that time. He also mentioned having supported Vipin during a family medical crisis, offering financial help when Vipin's father needed treatment. He expressed disappointment that, despite his support, Vipin was now allegedly trying to blackmail him. Unni clarified that Vipin was never his personal manager. According to him, Vipin only handled promotional activities and worked with several actors across the industry. Unni's appeal to the public Unni ended his statement by urging the public not to jump to conclusions based on rumours. Hours after it was reported that Unni Mukundan has been accused of beating up his former manager, the latter has now made some new claims. In a video posted by Asianet News on YouTube, the actor's ex-manager named Vipin Kumar, claimed that Unni Mukundan got irked when he praised Tovino Thomas' recently released movie, Narivetta. The manager claimed that the actor not only used abusive language but also thrashed him. Vipin Kumar called Unni Mukundan 'frustrated' and claimed that the actor has not been happy with the projects coming his way, despite the success of Marco in 2024. 'He also used abusive language. I have filed a complaint. I had been working with him for six years. I stayed in that job despite facing teasing and such behaviour from him. He has been frustrated in recent times due to various reasons, including the lack of good projects since Marco and the failure of his most recent film, Get-Set Baby, at the box office," the manager said. 'Also, although Sree Gokulam Movies had initially agreed to produce Unni's directorial debut, they later opted out. All of this has contributed to his growing frustration. He often takes out his frustrations on those around him, which is why many people who once worked with him are no longer associated with Unni. How long can I endure all this?" he added. Earlier today, it was also reported that Vipin Kumar has lodged a complaint with the Info Park Police in Kochi after receiving hospital treatment for his injuries. Police also noted that the relationship between the two has been strained for some time. More details are awaited. In a video shared by Asianet News, Vipin stated that the actor also used abusive language during the altercation. Vipin explained that despite facing verbal mistreatment in the past, he continued working with Unni out of professional commitment. However, he pointed out that the actor had recently grown more irritable, reportedly due to personal and career-related setbacks. These included the lack of strong film offers after Marco and the commercial failure of his latest release Get-Set Baby. He also mentioned that a planned directorial debut by Unni was dropped by Sree Gokulam Movies, which may have added to his frustrations. Though Vipin made this claim, the original announcement of the project is still visible on the production house's official Instagram page.
