Mystery as rising TikTok star found dead at home as police arrest two in connection with her death
AN UP and coming TikTok star has been found dead at her home with police investigating an alleged poison plot. The heartbroken teenage daughter of Sumera Rajput has claimed her mum was murdered after being made to take laced tablets. 4 4 Two people have been arrested and quizzed over the rising influencer's mysterious passing. The Pakistani TikToker was discovered in the Bago Wah area of Sindh's Ghotki district with no obvious cause of death. After hearing the tragic news, Rajput's 15-year-old daughter and her brother told police they believe she was targeted. The young girl alleged alleged her mother was killed by individuals who had spent years pressuring her into agreeing to a forced marriage. She claimed her mum was given poisonous tablets which led to her death, Geo News reports. Her brother also made the same accusation. Despite the pair of arrests, cops are yet to address the allegations despite mounting pressure from the victim's family. Police are said to be investigating Rajput's death to determine whether any foul play was involved. An autopsy has been ordered but the results are yet to be confirmed. Rajput had thousands of followers and over a million likes on TikTok. Umar Hayat, 22, has been arrested in Pakistan and confessed to the murder, according to police. Authorities believe Hayat murdered Yousaf after she turned down his "offers of friendship". He broke into her home and fired two fatal shots before stealing her phone and fleeing the scene, say police. 4 4

TikTok content creator Sumeera Rajput was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in the Bago Wah area of Sindh's Ghotki district in Pakistan, Geo News reported. The case has sparked outrage as allegations of forced marriage and poisoning surface. According to Geo News, Ghotki District Police Officer Anwar Shaikh confirmed that Rajput's 15-year-old daughter claimed her mother had been poisoned by individuals who had long been pressuring her into a forced marriage. The daughter alleged that her mother was given poisonous tablets, which led to her death. Rajput, who had over 58,000 TikTok followers and more than one million likes, is the latest in a series of targeted killings of female influencers in Pakistan. Just last month, another TikToker, 17-year-old Sana Yousaf, was shot dead inside her home in Islamabad's Sector G-13/1, Geo News reported. Despite swift action in arresting her alleged killer, Umar Hayat, the broader pattern of violence against women in public life continues unabated.

Police arrest two for allegedly poisoning Pakistani TikToker Sumeera Rajput to death
KARACHI: Police have arrested two suspects for allegedly poisoning a local TikTok star to death in Pakistan's southern Ghotki district, officials said on Saturday. Sumeera Rajput, who had over 58,000 followers and one million likes on TikTok, was found dead at her residence in the Bago Wah area on Friday afternoon, according to Imran Qureshi, a senior superintendent of police (SSP) at Sindh police's media and public relations wing. Police arrested two suspects, Babu Rajput and Muhammad Imran, for poisoning the content creator and lodged a case against them on the complaint of the deceased's sister. 'A post-mortem of Sameera Rajput has been conducted, which has revealed that she died because of poisoning,' Qureshi said in a statement. 'Further investigation is underway with the arrested suspects.' TikTok has more than 60 million users in Pakistan, many of them young women and teenagers. Rajput's death is the second such incident in as many months in the country. On June 2, Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old content creator, was shot dead at her home by another social media influencer, Umar Hayat, 22, after she rejected his repeated advances, according to Islamabad police chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Yousuf, originally from the scenic northern region of Chitral, was known for promoting traditional Chitrali music and dress through her videos. She also advocated for girls' education. Hours before her murder, she had posted a photo celebrating her birthday with friends.

Teen shot dead in 'family feud'
Unidentified armed men shot dead a young boy in SITE Superhighway Industrial Area on Monday. Police suspect the incident is the result of a longstanding family feud. Unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on a teenage boy, killing him on the spot. He was identified as 16-year-old Ikhlaq, son of Gulab. The deceased, hailed from Ghotki, lived with his uncle in Noor Khan Goth, within Sohrab Goth police limits. The police said that the boy worked at a factory. At around 8am, he left his house for work when he was ambushed and fired upon at close range by unidentified armed men. He was hit by three bullets, to the neck, temple, and face, and died on the spot. The police found three bullet casings of a 30-bore pistol at the scene. The victim's family term the murder as a result of an old enmity dating back to ancestral times in their native village. Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and initiated a detailed investigation.

Mills take interest in quality cotton buying
LAHORE: The local cotton market on Tuesday remained steady and the trading volume remained satisfactory. Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that the current cotton prices in Sindh and Punjab is in between Rs 16,500 and Rs 17,500 per maund, depending on quality and payment. Around, 400 bales of Ghotki, 1400 bales of Deherki were sold in between Rs 17,200 to Rs 17,400 per maund, 400 bales of Noouabad, 400 bales of Mir Pur Matelo were sold at Rs 16,800 per maund, 100 bales of Burewala were sold at Rs 17,300 per maund, 1000 bales of Haroonabad, 200 bales of Chichawatni were sold at Rs 17,200 per maund, 200 bales of Mian Channu, 600 bales of Rahim Yar Khan were sold at Rs 17,500 per maund and 200 bales of Ali Pur were sold at Rs 17,200 per maund.
