Echeverri wants Roma, Man City prefer loan to Girona

Roma are once again interested in Claudio Echeverri, Manchester City's promising Argentine attacking midfielder born in 2006. The River Plate youth talent, currently seeking opportunities in Europe, has reportedly expressed a clear preference for the Giallorossi, as reported by City, aiming to foster the youngster's development through a loan spell, initially considered Girona, a club belonging to the City Group, as an ideal destination. However, Echeverri himself is reportedly not entirely convinced by La Liga, preferring instead an opportunity in Serie A, where he could find greater visibility and a leadership position like that of Gian Piero Gasperini, considered suitable for his development as a player. Sporting director Frédéric Massara is working to secure an agreement that includes not only a loan but also an option to buy, a condition deemed essential to strategically investing in the player for the future.

Roma hold exploratory talks for Fabio Silva

Roma is looking for a versatile striker for Gian Piero Gasperini. One of the names at the top of the list is Wolverhampton Wanderers' striker Fabio Silva. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Massara is closely monitoring the situation and has already held exploratory talks with the English side. Silva's contract with the English club is expiring, a factor that could facilitate a deal for the Giallorossi. Silva began his Premier League adventure in 2020, but over the years he has been loaned to various teams, including Las Palmas. Despite his central striker role, Silva also has the right characteristics to adapt as a left winger, a position Gasperini is looking to strengthen. Wolverhampton Wanderers' asking price is around €15 million, a figure that could be within Roma's reach.

Roma keen on Jonathan Rowe

Roma continues to work on the transfer market to find new offensive reinforcements. After the arrivals of El Aynaoui, Ferguson, Wesley, and the imminent arrival of Ghilardi, the Giallorossi club shows no signs of slowing down. Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly requested a further alternative in attack, specifically a second striker to partner Paulo Dybala, Matías Soulé, and Tommaso Baldanzi. According to the latest name on Frederic Massara's list is Jonathan Rowe, a young attacking winger born in 2003 currently playing for Marseille. The Englishman, coming off a season with three goals and three assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances, has also made an impact at international level, contributing a goal to England's victory at the Under-21 European Championship. Marseille values Rowe at around €20 million. Premier League clubs such as Leeds and Bournemouth are also interested in the left-back, as well as Atalanta, who could become interested if Lookman's transfer were to materialize.

Watch: Evan Ferguson scores again for Roma against Kaiserslautern

Evan Ferguson has maintained his bright start to life in Roma with the only goal in Roma's friendly win over Kaiserslautern on Saturday. The on-loan Brighton man scored four times this week in a training game win over Serie D minnows UniPomezia. Even on such a low-key stage, it was a boost for the Republic of Ireland frontman after a barren spell in front of goal for the Seagulls. He had netted just once for the club since November 2023, after a period marred by injury and loss of form as well as an unsuccessful loan to West Ham. Rome isn't built in a day but the 20-year-old continued to impress his new fans and new Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini with the only goal in Germany. Ferguson profited from a mistake by goalkeeper Julian Krahl, but it was the youngster's lively pressing that forced the gaffe, allowing him to roll the ball home from close range.
