NBA Stars Set to Shine (and Sit Out) at EuroBasket 2025 - Luka and Giannis Take Center Stage; Wemby Benched?

EuroBasket 2025 (Image via FIBA) EuroBasket 2025 is right around the corner, and it's shaping up to be a thrilling showcase of elite talent, passionate fanbases, and high-stakes international basketball. While the tournament will feature several NBA stars proudly representing their nations, it will also miss some big names due to injuries and team decisions. From Luka Dončić suiting up for Slovenia to Giannis Antetokounmpo chasing gold with Greece, here's a complete breakdown of who's in, who's out, and what it all means for Europe's top basketball competition. EuroBasket 2025 Headliners: Luka and Giannis Take Center Court Luka Dončić: Slovenia's Driving Force Luka Dončić returns to EuroBasket 2025 not just as a star, but as a national hero. After leading Slovenia to gold in 2017 at just 18 and delivering more dazzling performances in 2022, Dončić now enters the tournament at the peak of his powers. Fresh off another MVP-caliber NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers, he'll serve as the backbone of Slovenia's Group D campaign, which features tough matchups against France and co-hosts Poland. Backed fully by his NBA team—who even sent a coach to help maintain his fitness—Dončić boasts a staggering 19.4 PPG average in EuroBasket play. Expect plenty of step-back threes, jaw-dropping assists, and Luka magic as he aims to add another medal to his collection. Though progressing well, the 7-foot-4 sensation won't take the court this summer, a cautious move endorsed by France's national program. To make matters tougher, fellow NBA veterans Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier have also opted out, leaving France to lean on a crop of talented young players. Bucks president makes confident Giannis Antetokounmpo declaration

The post Bucks president makes confident Giannis Antetokounmpo declaration appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Milwaukee Bucks' offseason has been a bit wild, but the biggest move some had begun to expect — a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade — has not happened. After another first-round playoff loss, as well as the devastating Achilles injury to Damian Lillard, it appeared as if Antetokounmpo might ask out of Milwaukee to compete with another team. However, Antetokounmpo, who has spent his entire 12-year NBA career with the Bucks, has said very little publicly, and whatever possibility of a trade seemed to diminish quickly. Still, it's no surprise that Bucks president Peter Feigin would be asked about the franchise's relationship with Antetokounmpo in light of the trade rumors. 'We kind of laugh internally,' Feign said during a Bucks Summer League game. 'It's where we've been for 10 years. Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis. We're in a good place. We feel great about it. It's business as usual. I think we get kind of a fun, little joy in everybody else thinking they know what's going on and what the clickbait is. But for us, we're in a good spot. Giannis is in a good place. He's enjoying the summer, and we're looking forward to next season.' Antetokounmpo is one of only five active players in the NBA who have played at least a decade in the league and with just one team their entire career; Antetokounmpo (12) ranks third behind Golden State Warriors teammates Stephen Curry (16) and Draymond Green (13), while Nikola Jokic and Devin Booker just completed their 10th season with the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns, respectively. However, unlike Curry and Green, it has been a struggle to get ring No. 2 for Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. Even before winning the NBA championship in 2021, rumors centered on Antetokounmpo reportedly considering leaving Milwaukee, and it hasn't stopped since then. This offseason, in particular, was expected by some to be a summer of moves directly affected by Antetokounmpo, although with no inkling of a trade, the Houston Rockets' acquisition of Kevin Durant proved to be the first domino to fall. While Feigin says the Bucks and Antetokounmpo are 'in a good place,' that will not slow down the rumor mill, particularly if the Bucks fall short in the postseason following the signing of Myles Turner. Bucks' Myles Turner draws Brook Lopez comparison

The post Bucks' Myles Turner draws Brook Lopez comparison appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Milwaukee Bucks may be undergoing a roster transition, but one thing remains unchanged: everything still revolves around Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee knows it, and they've embraced that franchise-defining reality. The Bucks believe they've struck gold once again, this time in the form of Myles Turner. Milwaukee acquired Turner in one of its most deliberate NBA Free Agency moves. Already, Turner is drawing comparisons to Brook Lopez, the longtime anchor of the team's defensive scheme. 'When we signed Brook forever ago, it was because we knew adding a floor spacer who could protect the rim next to Giannis would make us hard to deal with on both ends,' a Bucks coach shared. 'We're doing the same with Myles. He's not exactly the same as Brook, but we don't have to completely change our identity with Myles either. That's huge for continuity.' That continuity is exactly what the Bucks need in a summer of recalibration. With roster pieces shifting and rival contenders loading up, Milwaukee didn't just aim to survive the NBA Free Agency. Instead, the Bucks made a calculated push to thrive. A front office executive summed it up: 'I know you're a Moneyball guy from your tweets. 'Adapt or die,' right? When you have a player as good as Giannis, you have to be continually willing to do what it takes to win. That's what we did.' Turner is a two-way threat and one of the league's premier shot-blockers. He offers a rare blend of modern spacing and elite rim protection. While Milwaukee will certainly miss Brook Lopez's presence, the team believes it has found a worthy successor, one who can preserve its identity without forcing Giannis to carry an even larger defensive burden. As for the inevitable questions about Giannis' future? The team remains unbothered. 'I know you're asking about Giannis,' the executive said with a laugh. 'We have no indication that anything is really changing. We rebuilt on the fly, in a really challenging situation, but we think we did it as well as it could be done.' Now, with Myles Turner in place, the Bucks are betting that their revamped core can keep Giannis happy, and the title window wide open. Giannis Antetokounmpo jokingly teases his wife Maria on live IG coverage (Image Source: Maria/Instagram) Giannis Antetokounmpo 's wife, Maria, took his phone and went on IG live, filming a household chore handed over to the NBA star. The Milwaukee Bucks star didn't like the idea of doing it in front of some 26,000 people and asked her to disconnect. But Maria was no one to listen to. The couple indulged in a sweet banter while doing the chore. At one time, Giannis even went on to ask hilariously for a divorce, showing his fake contempt over Maria's action. Giannis Antetokounmpo's banter with his wife Maria over a household chore turns hilarious While Giannis Antetokounmpo was busy killing a cockroach in his house on his wife Maria's request, Maria captured the moment live on Instagram. It led to the Bucks superstar reminding her that they are being watched by a large audience. Maria had stolen his mobile phone and went live on IG. Here is how their cute banter went on: 'Babe, the whole world is watching,' Giannis said. Instead of listening to her husband, Maria continued filming, saying, 'Oh, there's 26,000 people watching.' She went on filming for a little more time and kept Giannis pissed off. Giannis jokingly teased her, saying, 'When this is done, I want a divorce.' All was being said and done in a lighter note. Their banter showed that the NBA power couple is just like any other couple in love, who enjoy each other's company and have fun together, even while doing ugly household chores like killing a cockroach! Jacob Misiorowski is an all-star just because he's popular? The horror.

The best new thing in baseball right now will have his moment Tuesday night at the All-Star Game, even as he conflicts with the worst thing about baseball. Rookie ace Jacob Misiorowski plays for the Milwaukee Brewers, though his body stretches long enough for him to moonlight as Giannis's teammate for that other Brew City franchise. Misiorowski's name might be as long as his frame, but it effortlessly shortens into one of those cool monikers that fit so well in headlines or on T-shirts. Though 'The Miz' has logged just five starts, he throws one of the hardest fastballs in the bigs.
