Nike Kobe 5 ‘Year of the Mamba' updated look

The post Nike Kobe 5 'Year of the Mamba' updated look appeared first on ClutchPoints. Nike is continuing their 'Year of the Mamba' releases in honor of NBA legend Kobe Bryant as they'll add another look to the popular concept. With four previous releases already behind us, Nike revealed a latest 'Triple Black' Nike Kobe 5 Protro as part of the Year of the Mamba collection. The resurfacing has fans clamoring for a release to the public. Advertisement Check our Sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content! Nike released a Nike Kobe 9 Elite, two colorways of the Kobe 5, and a Kobe 6 in memory of Gigi Bryant. Both editions of the Kobe 5 came with snakeskin graphics in gold throughout the uppers. This upcoming release will opt for a similar design, but will instead black-out the embossed snake for a monochromatic look. Stacking this upcoming drop against previous ones, we can expect a much more hyped release surrounding these thanks to their exclusivity as an addition to the already popular Year of the Mamba colorways. Nike Kobe 5 Year of the Mamba 'Triple Black' The latest drop will come in a Triple Black colorway, indicating all aspects of the shoe will be monochromatic. We see the typical Nike Kobe 5 Protro silhouette based in a Nike Zoom outsole. The hallmark feature here is the stitched mamba entangling around the Nike Swoosh. Following the structure of its two predecessors, the snake graphic remains on the lateral shoe and does not extend towards the medial side. Advertisement The only other key detail on this shoe is the neon green jeweled Black Mamba logo on the tongue, adding a nice overall touch to the tone of the shoe. Overall, these are right on-brand with the Black Mamba and we would be expect a frantic release around these come drop date. The Nike Kobe 5 Year of the Mamba 'Triple Black' never released as it was intended to in early 2025, but this updated look at a PE (player exclusive) version of the shoe could offer a promising sign towards an eventual release. Illegal fireworks negatively affecting Carson residents: ‘I think it's not going to stop'

Warning: The video above contains flashing lights. Viewer discretion is advised. The city of Carson earlier this year made the use, sale and discharge of fireworks illegal within the community, but the new policy doesn't seem to be stopping people from putting on their own fireworks shows. The ordinance, passed by the city council in March, makes it so that the public display of fireworks must be put on by a pyrotechnic operator with a permit. That includes sparklers, smoke bombs and fireworks designated as 'safe and sane.' Those who are not in possession of the permit could face fines and possibly a misdemeanor conviction; the fines are $2,000 for the first violation, $3,000 for the second violation (within a year of the first violation) and $5,000 for each additional violation after that. All fines are increased by 10% if not paid or appealed within 15 days of the issuance of date. Any unpaid fines will accrue 10% interest each year. Video recently taken by local residents and shared with KTLA shows an elaborate fireworks display over the neighborhood. According to one woman, the fireworks are 'disturbing.' '[The fireworks have] been very loud…they shake the house and they wake and scare the kids,' one resident, Lia Flores, said. 'Hearing them cry and then not be able to get back to bed is a problem. We have been here for five years now, and we have experienced this multiple times.' Area residents told KTLA that they believe local businesses are renting out space in warehouse parking lots for groups of people to light off the fireworks. Those businesses don't have any issues paying the fines, residents say. And while city officials say the increased penalties were put into place to protect people and animals who could be traumatized by the loud explosions, neighbors say there just isn't enough enforcement. Girl, 4, allowed to stay in U.S. for lifesaving care after deportation controversy 'It can last for 10 minutes or up to half an hour,' said Joanne, another Carson resident. 'I ask my husband to call 911 because I think it's not going to stop.' 'It's not right, especially at night,' she continued. 'The city needs to do something about it.' Carson residents are reminded that they can anonymously report firework activity to the city's public safety department; however, with the Fourth of July a month away, the complaints may continue to pile up as the night sky lights up due to the illegal fireworks displays. Luka Dončić has stepped up to pay the entire expected cost of restoring a vandalized mural depicting Kobe and Gigi Bryant in downtown Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Lakers' new guard made a $5,000 donation Tuesday to cover the entire goal of a GoFundMe page created by artist Louie Palsino. He wants to restore the mural, titled 'Mambas Forever,' at 14th and Main streets. 'It was always important to give back to the community,' Dončić said after practice at the Lakers' training complex. 'They gave me so much, so I just want to give back.' The Slovenian superstar joined the Lakers less than three months ago in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks. He teamed with LeBron James to lead the Lakers to the Pacific Division title and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, but Los Angeles is on the brink of elimination Wednesday night when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit for Game 5 with a 3-1 series lead. Bryant spent his entire 20-year career with the Lakers, winning five championships and becoming the top scorer in franchise history. After Kobe and Gigi Bryant died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, hundreds of murals and public art projects honoring them sprung up around Southern California.
