BREAKING NEWS Third person charged after alleged murder of Pheobe Bishop

A third person has been arrested and charged following the alleged murder of Bundaberg teenager Pheobe Bishop. The 30-year-old man had been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder, one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking and one breach of bail condition. He will face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Pheobe, 17, went missing near Bundaberg Airport about 8.30am on May 15, after booking a trip to WA to visit her boyfriend. On June 6, police discovered the Gin Gin teenager's remains near Goodnight Scrub National Park. Her former housemates, 33-year-old Tanika Bromley and 34-year-old James Wood, were charged with her murder and are being held in jail on remand while they await their next court appearance. Neither have entered pleas. More to come.

Junk cleared, house cleaned, new paint: Shock update on former Gin Gin house of horrors Phoebe Bishop stayed in

The filthy house where allegedly slain teen Pheobe Bishop lived with her housemates – who are now charged with the teen's murder – has been completely cleaned and revamped. Tanika Bromley, 33, and her partner James Wood, 34, were renting the three-bedroom home in Gin Gin home at the time of Pheobe's disappearance in May. The squalid property was among several crime scenes declared during the police probe into the 17-year-old's disappearance, after she failed to check into a flight bound for Brisbane. In early June, despite no-one living in the house, the front lawn was still strewn with rubbish. A bus parked outside the home, carrying a crudely-drawn sign saying 'Let it Ride', was piled up to the roof with junk, along with a small dinghy. But recent pictures have captured the extent of the clean-up work done on the house, just weeks after both Ms Bromley and Mr Wood faced court charged with Pheobe's murder. Rubbish from the yard has been completely cleared away and the exterior facade of the house appears to show a fresh coat of paint. Repairs have also been carried out to the balcony exterior. The boat and bus once parked out the front have also been towed away, and the lawn has been freshly mowed. The pictures are night-and-day compared to the feral state the house was left in, with 7News capturing the extent of rubbish left behind after Ms Bromley and Mr Wood were ordered out of the property during the police investigation. Dog faeces and trash litter the rooms and holes in the walls and doors were hastily patched by the pair, the landlord told 7News. 'A rubbish dump is probably cleaner,' the landlord told the program. 'I just can't understand how someone can live in conditions like this.' The clean-up effort follows Ms Bromley and Mr Wood being charged with Pheobe's murder in early June. They are also facing two counts each of misconduct with a corpse, with police alleging the pair moved Pheobe's body more than once after her death. A massive search effort commenced after Pheobe failed to check into her flight from Bundaberg Airport on May 15, where she was due to fly to Brisbane and then onto Western Australia to visit her boyfriend. Weeks after the search, human remains were discovered in the Good Night Scrub National Park Area, which police later confirmed to be Pheobe's. In an added blow, Ms Bromley has been slapped with a banning order by the NDIS, black-listing her from 'being involved in providing NDIS supports or services to NDIS funded participants'. 'Specifically, Tanika Bromley is prohibited from providing supports and services, directly or indirectly, to NDIS-funded participants,' the banning order, issued on June 12, states. The order covers any activities which could be undertaken by NDIS workers and affiliated consultants and auditors and 'the provision or management of NDIS supports, services or funding to people with disability in the NDIS'. It remains in place for six months and covers all Australian states and territories.

Family, friends of Pheobe Bishop to lay slain Bundaberg teen to rest at funeral

A teenager allegedly murdered by her housemates will be laid to rest by family and friends on Monday as mourners remember the girl for her 'beautiful soul' and being 'forever 17'. Pheobe Bishop was last seen alive on the morning of May 15 at Airport Dr in Bundaberg, where she was due to fly to Brisbane and then to Western Australia to visit her boyfriend. The 17-year-old was declared missing after she failed to check in to her scheduled flight – sparking a massive search effort that lasted weeks. It ended in tragedy when police confirmed human remains discovered in the Good Night National Scrub Park outside of Gin Gin on June 6 were Pheobe's. Pheobe's housemates Tanika Bromley, 33 and James Wood, 34, have been charged with the teenager's murder. They are also facing two counts each of misconduct with a corpse. The teen's family and friends will gather to lay her to rest later on Monday afternoon prior to a private cremation at the Springfield Gardens Crematorium in Elliott Heads. The funeral notice for Pheobe – affectionately known as 'Nanny McPhee' – states she was 'late of Gin Gin and formerly of Windsor, New South Wales. Beloved daughter of Kylie and Ray, Kevin and Stacey. Dearly loved sister of Jamie, Jesse, Kaylea, Ruby-Leigh, Aybel and sister-in-law to Janay. Loving aunty to Tallullah. Much loved niece, cousin and friend to many'. Pheobe's family have requested donations to the teen's GoFundMe page – which has amassed more than $8000 – in lieu of floral tributes. Messages on the funeral notice pay tribute to the free-spirited girl, who is being remembered for being 'forever 17.' One woman, known only as Ashley, wrote: 'My sincerest condolences to Kylie and family. Sending so much love and strength to everyone. May your beautiful soul rest in peace Pheobe!' Holly Morton said she would 'forever cherish' their memories together, writing Pheobe would 'truly will be missed by those that knew you and now the world'. 'Thank you for being the human you were … Missing you more the ever Phee,' her message continues. Others offer condolences to Pheobe's mother Kylie Johnson and her siblings. In a message on June 28, Allison Schultz and Kaylee-Jayde Wallace wrote: 'Kaylee-Jayde and I (Allison), send our love and deepest heartfelt condolences to Kylie and Ray and all the family. May she always fly with the butterflies!' A woman known as Shayna wrote: 'To Phoebe's family, I'm so very sorry for your loss, I hadn't known her but she seemed like such a beautiful young girl. I'm glad you're able to put her to rest, so she's able to be at peace.' Heartbreak for 'perfectly unique' daughter Monday's private service follows weeks of tributes from a community left in mourning at the teen's sudden death. In a statement on Monday, Ms Johnson told the ABC the family was 'devastated' they had to navigate the tragedy. 'This is absolutely everybody's worst nightmare, however, we promised to get Phee home and give her a send-off that Phee would approve of and that's what will happen,' Ms Johnson told the network. Floral tributes across the Gin Gin and Bundaberg regions emerged in the wake of Pheobe's disappearance – including outside the house she was living in with Mr Wood and Ms Bromley. A candlelight vigil was held in Bundaberg on June 9, with attendees adorning flowers, candles and decorations around a large tree. Paying tribute to her daughter, Ms Johnson said she never expected a situation like that would happen to her. 'Now, unfortunately, we know that she is not going to come home to us,' she said. 'I have no words that could ever, ever describe what the last three-and-a-half weeks … it's just weighed us down.' She recalled her daughter always being her 'perfectly uniquely' self, saying she was 'glorious'. 'Phee was more than glorious,' she said. 'She was compassionate, she was caring, she was resilient, she was relentless at times.' Another vigil was held in Gin Gin a day earlier.

Gin Gin woman Tanika Bromley remains in custody on weapons charges

A Queensland woman facing multiple weapons charges will remain behind bars while prosecutors prepare a brief of evidence. Tanika Kristan Bromley, 33, did not appear when her matter was mentioned in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday. She is charged with six offences, including possessing a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of a short firearm in public and possessing explosives without authority. Police laid the charges last month after searching a grey Hyundai ix35 and a Gin Gin home. Legal Aid lawyer Alexandra Sanders told the court she was seeking a full brief of evidence from the prosecution and requested the case be adjourned until August. Ms Bromley has been in custody since June 5. The matter will return to court on August 11.

EXCLUSIVE Shocked owners reveal the damage left by Pheobe Bishop's housemates who turned their family home into a cesspit

All traces of the filth and rubbish left by Pheobe Bishop's housemates have been removed and dumped at a tip by the owners of the Queensland rental home where they lived. Jacob and Milena Otto leased the three-bedroom Gin Gin property to James Wood and Tanika Bromley, who lived with Pheobe and are now accused of her murder. Pheobe's remains were found in Good Night Scrub National Park - located about an hour from the property - on June 6. It is alleged Wood and Bromley drove the 17-year-old to Bundaberg Regional Airport on May 15, but she never checked in for her flight to Western Australia. Days later, police declared the Gin Gin house and their car a crime scene. Wood and Bromley were charged with Pheobe's murder, along with two counts each of interfering with a corpse, on June 5. The Ottos, who live 900km away in the North Queensland town of Ayr, were allowed to enter their Gin Gin property earlier this month when police finished their forensic investigation. They faced a massive clean-up with dog poo, broken furniture and rubbish throughout the property. The couple said they took 'two skip bins and many trailer loads' to the local tip. They added that kind-hearted locals helped them. 'While at the house these past few days, people would stop in and lend a hand for a few hours,' they said. The couple, who were given $2,275 on a now-closed GoFundMe, have claimed the classic Queenslander-style house suffered structural damage. They hope to restore the property to its former glory and put it back on the rental market. 'The house is almost empty now and cleaners are organised. There is some structural damage but that is something for tradies,' they said recently. 'Meanwhile, we have returned to work up north.' Former homicide detective Charlie Bezzina told Daily Mail Australia that Queensland Police 'should be applauded' for completing their forensic work on a complex crime scene so quickly. 'You can't keep a crime scene open forever in Australia, unlike in other countries like America,' he said. 'If there was anything (forensics) needed to find, they would have found it by now. 'You can't justify holding onto a crime scene just in case something else pops up - you have to hand it back to the rightful owner. You have to be fair.' In a previous interview with Daily Mail Australia, Mr Otto revealed that when he'd approved Bromley as a tenant, she 'ticked all the right boxes'. It's understood only Bromley was on the lease, and that she never missed a rental payment. Criminal psychologist Tim Watson-Munro described the crime scene as 'chronic, next-level squalor'. 'I take it (Wood and Bromley) are not going to get their bond back,' he said. Mrs Otto also confirmed that the stench pervading the air was due to Wood's puppies, which died from a supposed worm infestation. When the Ottos first returned to the home on June 7, their devastation was evident. 'We don't know where to start,' they admitted. 'We started a family in this home.'
