Swansea City enlist Snoop Dogg to tease new kit and poke fun at Ryan Reynolds
Swansea City enlist Snoop Dogg to tease new kit and poke fun at Ryan Reynolds The Swans have offered fans a first glimpse of the new 2025/26 kit Snoop Dogg wearing the new Swansea City kit (Image: Swansea City ) First Luka Modric, now Snoop Dogg. It's already been quite the year for Swansea City, whose supporters were given a huge surprise when offered a long-awaited glimpse at the new home shirt. The club posted a snap of the rapper wearing the new kit on Saturday night, alongside a social media post from Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds. Wrexham recently released their own new threads for the upcoming season, their first in the Championship since 1982. Hollywood star Reynolds posted a picture of himself wearing the latest shirt while holding a dog, with the caption: "Been waiting a year for this to make its debut - and it did not disappoint. Available NOW in the @wrexham_afc online store. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here. "Link in stories. Dog not included." Swansea, who don't have a derby with Cardiff City to contest this term following the Bluebirds' relegation to League One, have perhaps turned their attention to the Dragons for a bit of rivalry. Article continues below In an apparent playful dig at their north Walian counterparts, Swansea responded on social media: "Dogg included @SnoopDogg. "Nuthin' But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. "We're the Pride of Wales." Content cannot be displayed without consent In a video posted a little later on in the evening, Snoop said: "Hail to Wales and to Swansea City. It's your boy big Snoop Dogg. "Coming to a hood near you. Oh yeah, these are the new jerseys." The move has predictably generated a big reaction on social media, with some speculating whether the Gin and Juice hitmaker might be about to make an investment in the club. It's not clear just how the Swans managed to get him on board with this latest announcement, although the rapper is believed to be a football fan. Indeed, he's and has actually been pictured in the kits of various clubs over the years. Burnley, Norwich City, QPR, Liverpool, Manchester United and even Cardiff are among the club whose kits he's been spotted in over the years. The Swans shirt itself is seemingly a slight update on last season's effort. Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone. Here, there appears to be a retro-style circular badge, while there also appears to be a black and white tiled design as the trim on the sleeves and collar. Article continues below The release date for the new kit isn't yet known, but with the Swans set to take on Stevenage out in Spain for their opening pre-season friendly of the summer, it seems it won't be long before the players are wearing it.

Ananda Lewis helped define the MTV VJ at the turn of the millennium
Music is a natural subject for people talking about it to bring their whole self into the mix, and Lewis did just that during her four-year MTV run: Early on in her tenure, she praised Queen of the Blues Dinah Washington en route to introducing the video for Snoop Dogg's 'Gin and Juice.' During a 2001 tribute to the late singer Aaliyah, she took time out from the script to give her own elegy to her friend and peer. She also had journalistic chops that MTV (and, before that, BET) let her flaunt, hosting 'True Life: I Am Driving While Black' and shows that dealt with the aftermath of the Columbine High School shooting. 'Ananda is Cleopatra. You know she's a queen,' Prince told the Advertisement 'Giving them the space to talk to people who would honor and respect who they were, especially brown people at the time, was really special,' she said in 2020. Three years later, Paramount Global shut down MTV's news division, and Lewis Lewis, who was born in Los Angeles in 1973 and grew up in San Diego, had her own talk show from 2001 to 2002 and hosted the celebrity news show 'The Insider' before stepping away from the entertainment world and becoming a carpenter in the 2010s. The short-lived 2019 reboot of 'While You Were Out' brought her two career trajectories together, and in recent years she'd popped up on documentaries that covered her era of MTV. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in the late 2010s, and during a 2024 CNN roundtable, she revealed that it had progressed to Stage IV. Lewis died on June 11 at her home in Los Angeles, where she was in hospice care. Advertisement 'MTV was like going to an amusement park and having the FastPass to every ride, and you were on the ride with your favorite people every single time,' Lewis told Check the Rhymes TV. During the channel's reign as America's chief arbiter of pop music, Lewis and other standout VJs brought millions of viewers along for each trip with knowledge and enthusiasm. Snoop Dogg performs ahead of B.C. Lions' home opener
Snoop Dogg was a B.C. Lions fan on Saturday — if only for one night. The legendary rapper donned a Lions jersey with the number 20 and his name emblazoned on the back as he took the stage for a concert at B.C. Place before the Lions hosted the Edmonton Elks in their first game of the CFL season. Over the course of a 35-minute set, Snoop Dogg sang several of his hits, including 'P.I.M.P.,' 'Gin and Juice,' and 'Drop it Like it's Hot,' plus abbreviated versions of songs he has featured on, such as Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' and the explicit version of Akon's 'I Wanna Love You.' His dancers and backup singers also donned Lions gear for the show. View image in full screen Snoop Dogg performs before the Edmonton Elks and the B.C. More info Rap icon Snoop Dogg has unveiled his plans to launch a pop-up burger joint at Celtic Park - aiming to serve up top-notch bacon cheeseburgers to the Hoops faithful. The hip-hop heavyweight and long-time Celtic supporter is keen to personally dish out the grub at Parkhead, telling the Sunday Mail: "There has always been the opinion that food at sports stadiums is never good but that ain't got to be the case." Snoop, who's also known for his culinary skills, expressed his desire to shake up stadium food. He said: "People know that Snoop is a cook and I would love to bring a pop up burger to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good." And he's set his sights on Celtic Park, saying: "It's got to be Celtic Park man, I mean where else am I going to bring it." The 'Gin and Juice' rapper shared his recipe for success. He said: "The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple cured bacon." Snoop is confident the Celtic crowd will be impressed, saying: "The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself." At 53, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jnr, has not only made waves in music but also in the food world, appearing on cooking shows with Martha Stewart and releasing his own cookbook, 'From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen'. He's even considered teaming up with Rangers-supporting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for a restaurant venture, jokingly noting Ramsay's penchant for profanity, reports the Daily Record. He said: "I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him and maybe it might even be in Glasgow. "For real – we are always swapping cooking tips and I do mean swapping. It's not just one way traffic, I send him tips as well – he respects Snoop as chef. "My boy Gordon has got a worse mouth than me but that's only because of his passion. Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss!". "I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him and maybe it might even be in Glasgow." Celtic Park is known for its innovative culinary offerings. In 2023, Smokey Trotters Kitchen, a popular street food eatery based in Glasgow's Barras Market, introduced Katsu Fries at the stadium - chips topped with salt and chilli chicken, cheese, curry sauce, crispy onions and coriander. Scheme Poutine - fries loaded with haggis, cheese, crispy onions and then peppercorn sauce - also became a favourite with fans.
