Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police have cracked the case involving the planting of explosive materials outside a public toilet at Bengaluru's overcrowded Kalasipalya bus stop and have arrested three persons. Confirming the arrests on Tuesday, DCP (West) S. Girish stated that as the investigation was ongoing, the names and photos of the accused would be released in due course. Girish said, "The incident took place on July 23. Taking the matter seriously, the police department formed five teams. These teams conducted investigations, gathered information from sources, and, through technical evidence, apprehended three suspects." He further added, "The police have recovered 22 live REX 90 gelatin gel capsules and 30 live electric detonators. We have also obtained information about other individuals involved in the case, and the investigation is still in progress." Earlier, panic had gripped Bengaluru's Kalasipalya bus stop after an unattended bag was found outside a public toilet on July 23. Acting on information about a suspicious bag, Bengaluru Police rushed to the spot and recovered gelatin sticks and detonators outside a public toilet at the Kalasipalya bus stop. Six (REX 90) gelatin gel capsules and 12 electric detonators, both separately packed, were found in a carry bag outside the toilet located on the premises of the Kalasipalya Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand. The explosive materials were discovered around 2 p.m. They were kept in separate bags near the toilet. The case was filed under Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, under Sections 6 (A), 9 (B) of the Explosives Act and also under Sections 61 (1)(a), 61 (1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Assistant Traffic Superintendent (ATS) Mallappa R. Katiimani had filed a complaint in this regard. An unknown person and an adult male were named as the accused persons initially in the FIR. The FIR had stated, "The complainant works as the ATS at the Kalasipalya bus stop and has come to duty at 8 a.m. and inspected the Kalasipalya BMTC bus stop and found nothing at that time. Later, at 1.15 pm, security personnel Prabhvathi and Raju produced a bag saying that an unknown person had left it near the bus stand public toilet. He suspected the presence of the explosive substance and called the police. The police, who arrived at the spot, confirmed it." The complainant has stated that the Kalasipalya bus stop is an overcrowded place and urged the police to track down the persons who had left the explosive substances to cause harm to lives and property, and initiate legal action, the FIR stated. Kalasipalya is a communally sensitive and densely populated area in Bengaluru, and the discovery had raised serious concerns among residents and security agencies. Recently, over 40 private schools in Bengaluru received bomb threat messages via email.

This Actor Vanished After Hit Debut, Now Runs Rs 8,500 Crore Firm

Many stars enter Bollywood, shine briefly, and then disappear. However, one such actor is Girish Kumar, who made a blockbuster debut in 2013 with his first film ' Ramaiya Vastavaiya ', but soon vanished from the industry. The film was directed by Prabhu Deva and featured Shruti Haasan alongside Girish. The music, especially the song ' Jeene Laga Hoon ', became very popular among the audience. The film performed well at the box office and Girish received numerous award nominations for best debut. Everyone thought Girish would have a long career in Bollywood, but his second film ' Loveshuda ', released in 2016, failed to impress both the audience and the box office. Following this, Girish distanced himself from films and never appeared on screen again. Although Girish quit acting, he carved out a new identity in his family business. Girish is the son of Tips Industries owner Kumar S. Taurani and the nephew of Ramesh Taurani. Tips Industries is a major music and film production company, which has delivered numerous hits like ' Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai ', ' Kya Kehna ', ' Roz ', ' Ishq Vishk ', and ' Race '. According to a Financial Express report, Girish is now the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tips Industries and plays an essential role in further increasing its market value, which stands at Rs 8,533 crore. His hard work and business acumen have expanded Tips to more than 1,000 wholesalers and 4 lakh retailers. As of June 24, 2025, the market value of Tips was Rs 8,533.4 crore, and Girish's personal wealth is estimated at around Rs 2,164 crore. This amount exceeds the net worth of Ranbir Kapoor (400 crores), Ranveer Singh (245 crores), and even Aamir Khan (1,900 crores). Girish married his childhood friend Krishna Mangwani in 2016, and they now live a happy life in Mumbai with their child. While Girish may have left the glitz of Bollywood, his success at Tips Industries has shown that success can be found not only on screen but also in the business world.

Following the incident, the family was in constant touch with the hospital and the Indian Embassy to bring the mortal remains to India. Janaki, wife of Girish, appealed to the Non-Resident Indian Forum for assistance from the govt, stating that the family was financially backward. Accordingly, the forum requested chief minister Siddaramaiah to consider the request. Janaki also met the CM and sought his intervention. Detonators, gelatin sticks found in BMTC bus stand in Kalasipalya

BENGALURU: Panic gripped passengers at the Kalasipalya Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand on Tuesday afternoon after explosive materials were found in a carry bag near the washroom area. According to the police, around 1:15 pm, security guards at the BMTC bus stand in Kalasipalya found a suspicious bag, took it to the office, and immediately alerted the police. Following the alert from the bus stand staff, police rushed to the spot along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the dog squad. Upon inspection, they found six gelatin sticks and a few detonators inside the carry bag. The materials were seized. Speaking to reporters, DCP West S. Girish said that an unknown person had left six gelatin sticks and seven detonators in a separate bag placed on the washroom caretaker's table. A case has been registered. According to the preliminary investigation, the person does not appear to have had any malicious intent. The explosive substances were found raw and separately packed in the bag, and they appear to be typically used for quarrying or stone blasting. It seems the person may have panicked and left the bag on the caretaker's table in the washroom while the caretaker had stepped out, Girish said. A police source told TNIE that after the explosive substances were found, five special teams were formed. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas was analysed and several people were questioned. A suspect has been identified, sources added. Further investigation is underway to apprehend him and determine the purpose for which the explosives were brought. Police further added that based on a complaint filed by Assistant Traffic Superintendent Mallappa R, the Kalasipalya police have registered a case under the Explosive Substances Act, the Explosives Act, and Sections 288 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substances) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
