We make a giant panino to celebrate the best fresh Italian produce
Anna Simon is a home cook, recipe developer and TV personality. And on Thursday, she joined us to make a 1.5m long panino. Anna says that she created this dish to celebrate her Italian heritage, she says growing up people used to tease her at school for having salami sandwiches, but these days these types of sandwiches have actually become very popular. 'Love Is Blind 'Alum Marshall Glaze Says Last Year Was 'Very Tough' for Him: 'I Was Going to Take My Own Life'
Marshall Glaze, who appeared on season 4 of Love Is Blind, discussed his mental health challenges on the Wednesday, June 4, edition of What's the Reality? podcast During the podcast, he discussed contemplating suicide, saying, "Last year was just very tough for me mentally, and I was going to take my own life" He recalled realizing that he wanted to "live" and said that he hoped sharing his story would allow him to "heal"Marshall Glaze is getting candid about his mental health journey. The season 4 Love Is Blind star was a guest on the Wednesday, June 4, edition of Amber Desiree "AD" Smith's podcast, What's the Reality?, during which he discussed his mental health journey over the past year. "Last year was just very tough for me mentally, and I was going to take my own life. It just got to a point where I had always been morbidly curious, but never thought about how to do it," he said. "And then, one day, I'm just down in the dumps, just crazy depressed. Nothing is going right for me in my life or I feel like nothing is going right, that's what my internal monologue is telling me," continued Glaze. The star went on to note that "those voices, that darkness just got a little bit louder, got a little bit darker." Glaze described feeling like he was "in this box," and "the walls were just getting closer and closer and closer." "No favorite meal, no favorite movie, no favorite song, could lift me out of that," he said. "I knew I had a problem when, this particular time I talked to my mom, I was okay with that being the last time I talked to her." Glaze said he knew what he was going through was "bad" because his mother was someone he talked to "multiple times throughout the day." "I was going to do what I felt like I had to do, but I couldn't," he continued, adding that he then went for a walk that he "will never forget." "Seattle is a very rainy city, and this was at peak rain season, and I lived on a very busy street in downtown Seattle, and at any time of the day, there's buses, cars, bikes, people walking, and nobody was out there," said Glaze. He recalled walking around in the rain while wearing a cut-off t-shirt, basketball shorts and a pair of slides. "I walked around the Space Needle, came around back to my apartment, and I'm like, 'I want to live,' " he said. Glaze said that sharing his story ultimately helps him "heal." "I hope that someone out there can resonate with that and choose life," he concluded. The 'Use My Heart Against Me' singer showed off her "desert sunset blonde" look - dirty blonde with sunkissed highlights - on 'American Idol' over the weekend and her colourist Rita Hazan explained the 43-year-old star was keen to "switch it up" and couldn't be happier with the results. Rita told People magazine: "The must-have in my kit that I use on all my clients is Glaze's Supergloss. For Jessica, we used the shade Vanilla Lights — her perfect match to tone down brassiness in her highlights. "It delivers a rich, shiny payoff, and a silky, polished finish that leaves hair looking refreshed and healthier after just one use. "She was so happy to get a new look and switch it up. She always had a super buttery blonde — this time we wanted something new and youthful. "I think it's a fresh and young vibe, but with confidence and a slight attitude to represent her mood. We have been in each other's lives for so many years that there's personal and professional trust." Rita has worked with Jessica for years and they kick off their sessions with a "hair party", in which they exchange gossip and share a laugh. She said: "Usually I fly in from New York, and we have a hair party in her bathroom with a few of the same people every six weeks. "First, we catch up on life for a quick second, and then continue to laugh and tell very personal stories about what we all got into for the month. It's actually hysterical. I don't think there was one time I went there and didn't laugh hysterically." Jessica recently explained she has "no rules" when it comes to her fashion inspiration, though she often gets ideas from online pinboard Pinterest. Discussing her latest Walmart for Jessica Simpson Collection, she told People magazine: "For me, personally, style evolves as I do on a personal level, through each stage of my life. "That's the inspiration for my music right now ... Nashville Canyon is an evolution of past, present, future, versatility, femininity, openness and confidence. "Anything from a vintage printed wallpaper in a movie I am watching or a performance piece displayed in an old documentary. "Everyone who knows me knows I am observant. I never miss a detail. Inspiration comes at me in visceral ways, every single day. And I honestly don't know what I would do without Pinterest."
